In the younger grades especially, there was so much creativity from the classroom layout to the activities themselves that I have never seen in any other school. The children in both general education and special education classrooms are given the attention and encouragement they need to achieve to the best of their abilities, and the school makes a strong point of, even in the elementary grades, reinforcing the idea that the kids there are all college-bound and headed for success. As an aside, on the first day when I arrived and saw all of the pep rallies, the pets in the classrooms, and one class who had gone on a fieldtrip to Legoland that day I thought, Wow, if I were a kid, I'd want to go here! After 5 months of close interaction with the students and teachers "behind the scenes," my opinion on that, both personally and professionally, has remained unchanged.

This program is a great alternative to other after school programs that I've used and considered…read moreover my 15+ years of being a Santee dad. The newer building has great amenities like a full basketball court gym and many different rooms for kids to quietly study, watch movies or do crafts. Unlike Project SAFE there's plenty of air conditioned building space where my kids don't spend the summers outside drenched in sweat. The yearly membership charge is nominal and they work with the Santee school district to offer bus transportation from school (at a cost directly from the district). There is a bit of 'you get what you pay for' with thin offerings of administration and old school paper enrollment. YMCA and Project SAFE charge thousands of more per year for similar after school and summer school programs so I'm fine with the trade-off. Regardless, my kids really like the staff, their time there and are excited to go after school. The Boys and Girls Club of Santee hold the safety of the kids paramount with their policies and practice.

During the call he showed no remorse and couldn't even tell me the exact day of the event. the only time he apologized was when i told him i would be taking him to the doctor to check if he had a concussion then continued to tell me it might not be a good idea to bring him back if he did because it gets "pretty loud in the club." My son did in fact have a concussion but she (the Dr.) couldn't tell me how severe because of the lack of information provided to me of the incident. No to mention for pick up and drop of don't even bother parking in the pick up spaces in the red zone. you will get hounded about not getting out of your car or they will get ticketed. then when you continue to park your car your child will be waiting by their self no adult in sight doors closed. there is no signing in or out, anyone can pick your child up. I am an alumni of the boys and girls club and it was nothing like this. they don't care about your child's well being or safety so if you care about your children please do not send them to this club. This is so unfortunate i use to love the club growing up and this experience the displayed for my son was nothing near when i went here.

Under her leadership, this daycare is organized, calm, clean, and genuinely caring. Ana is present, responsive, and clearly sets a high standard. You feel it the second you walk in. Becca, the two's class teacher, is phenomenal. She's attentive, patient, and truly knows the kids. She keeps the app updated consistently with real details such as meals, naps, activities, photos. I'm always up to date and aware of what my two year old is doing and I can see how happy he is to be there! Most importantly, my son is happy, comfortable, and clearly feels safe with her. We've sent our 3 year old boy here for 3 months now. More specifically: Great teachers His main teacher is Ms. Erica, and he also spends time with others, especially Ms. Becca and Mr. Junior. They are all attentive and caring, and our son loves being around them. If he is in one part of the facility or in the yard when I pick him up, he often insists we visit other rooms on the way out to say good bye to other teachers he knows. When there is an issue, whether it was something our son did, or something he did to someone else (you know like pushing/getting pushed, while not often, it's inevitable among toddlers that it happens sometimes), the teachers communicate promptly and transparently. Great administrators I am amazed at how Ms. Ana and Ms. Daisy are on top of what and how all the children across levels are doing. The are always in the classrooms helping the teachers and checking in on the students, and are really aware of what's going on. They have created an environment of open communication across the staff, so all the teachers and administrators are frequently in contact over the course of the day so that everyone stays on the same page. Great support and communication Our son was in the process of getting potty trained when he started attending. Everyone was super helpful, patient with his accidents, and accommodated special requests. The teachers and administrators were always happy to discuss how our son's day went and align on strategies to help him going forward. The app is great and pictures are uploaded throughout the day so we know what the children are up to. Great programming The children are always kept busy with fun activities. There's lots of painting, crafts, playdough, magnatiles... Every time I show up to pick my son up he's engaged in something, whether an activity at a table, or climbing on a playground structure in the yard. Sometimes he says we can't go home yet because he wants to finish what he is working on! Each child's art is stored in their own folder, and we have brought home a whole pile already. Some of the art is displayed in the hallway, along with a picture of the child making the art that is displayed. They always make sure that every child has art displayed. Our son likes to search the hall for his art and then wants to pose for a picture with it and with the picture of himself making it -- very meta. In short, just a great experience. I've read through all the other reviews out of curiosity. I have to say I'm perplexed by the negative reviews. I'm sure people have had different experiences, and have had the experiences they say. I told Little Learners about the past problems we had, and that in some ways my kid was working on rebuilding his confidence. After a few weeks there he began to be more like himself, even wore his favorite pink shirt to school! (This was something he'd been bullied for in the past, so this was a big step.) At that moment, I knew he was really starting to feel safe and accepted at LLP. My kiddo is also not one of the kids who sits still very well. He is fidgety and is still learning to be good at circle time. They have been patient with him and have kept me well informed of his progress. They even let me visit the classroom many times to see what they did at circle time, and helped brainstorm ideas on how to get my child to learn to best behave. They have encouraged me and my child, and have been VERY helpful and very good at collaborating with me to think up ways to best help my son overcome challenges, and learn good behavior. They also have been great at being sure to celebrate his successes and his accomplishments, too. They just hosted the preschool graduation and we were thrilled! They had a nice, big ceremony in a nice venue and they put a lot more thought and planning into the event than I ever expected. It's clear that they really care about the children and parents, and work hard to ensure that the families that attend LLP are happy and know they're appreciated. They really know my son, and all of his likes, dislikes, and his charming qualities and what makes him tick. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family.
