Idc who you voted for (btw, we're democrats) or what God you pray to (btw, we're not religious).... we know a good school when we see one! Anyone who writes a negative review can take their kid to the low rated public school they live by. I mean...who writes negative reviews about schools!?!!??!! Unless you're paying for it! Charter schools are elective, and if you're unhappy with it, send your kids to the local public school, move, pay money for private school, or teach your kids yourself! Home school is an option if you think you can do better! Teachers are are under-paid and extremely undervalued. They take care of our kids for almost 8 hours a day...for free (well, almost...taxes pay). They try to educate our kids along with teaching them how to be responsible members of society. Even bad schools have good teachers.... who try and care! We previously had an issue with a teacher here and after sitting down with the principal, it promptly stopped. Our kid is almost in high school and has been attending lfcs since kindergarten. Lfcs provides a FREE and "private school like" education. Ik when my kid leaves in the morning he is learning something, safe, and well cared for. Ummm.... and the school rating is 10 out of 10....I mean really????

Going to schools is one of my favorite assignments as get to interact with different professionals in their context. This school from the mid 1950s reminds me of the one of my childhood. I felt so at ease, like if it was my own school. I loved the vibe. Many Spanish and Arabic speaking children super friendly to me when I was looking for the room I needed to work at. Everything seems so inviting and there are plenty of open space to play and interact. My only concern was the parking, I guess is reserved for the teachers and other workers.

Note: I would give this school a "0" if optional…read more Just had to reach out to the El Cajon School District about the principle, "Ms. Far"..."Ms. Spar". That was a dead end. All they stated was to schedule an appointment to speak to "Ms. Far"..."Ms Spar". What is that suppose to do? We have already spoken and She is aware that I have a problem with what she told me in person. As I read the commenter before mine..."this principle needs to GO"! She is there for the money and not for any child's education productivity. The incident: Today, I had got into an argument with one of the parents due to their child hitting my child. I confronted her in front of the teacher "Ms. Swiss", Ms Swiss stood there like she did not know what to do. The other parents younger child hit my child right in front of all three of us and all the mother did was pull him away and I told her "Well, I see where the example of hitting came from...younger child is learning from the older child". The teacher still did not do anything. I had to go into the main office to speak with either the vice principal or principal...office staff notified me that they were actually outside. I complied with them in regards to leaving my name and number so, I can be contacted. Fast forward to me walking out of the office... "Ms. Far".."Ms Spar".... walks up to me after I spot her speaking with the other parent ALREADY and pulls me aside while I see the other parent standing around talking to another parent like she didn't already run her mouth. "Ms. Far"..."Ms Spar"...first thing comes out of her mouth is.."The other parent felt offended about your "younger/little sibling comment"...I stated to her "Yes, Well that was because they think it's okay for her children to hit my son but, I can't say or do shit when their evil spawns hit my child first". I then notify "Ms. Far"..."Ms Spar"....that she is conducting a "favoritism" type of attitude. She denies it OF COURSE...I still can not understand why she did not have a "little private conference" with me and the other parent and not just me only. "FAVORITISM ". Basically she tried to put everything on my child. My children will not be going to this school next year. Both my children use to go to this school about a year or two ago when "Ms Far"..."Ms Spar" was not the principal and the school was ran way better. After she came into the picture...all hell has broke loose at that school...they let more non speaking students and inviting their parents there as well and now the school has been more crowded more than ever. Parents were asked not to park by the apartment complexes by the alley way and parents still park there..."On the red line"...obviously some of the parents are as bad as the principal there...they can not listen or follow directions. I would not recommend this school to send your child to until "Ms Far"...."Ms Spar", departs.

My youngest son is in Mrs. Weatherford's Kindergarten class and she is a delight. She is extremely helpful and the kids love her. My son talks about her all the time and can't wait to go to school every day. Mrs. Silva, the principal, is also heavily involved in the school and I don't think I've met a principal (other than Mr. Handley at Vista Grande!) who is so involved with the students. She wants the best for them and works extremely hard. I also appreciate the office staff. My youngest was having trouble with learning letter sounds when he started Kindergarten and one of the staff took the kids who were having trouble and did a remedial type program and he learned his letter sounds within just a couple weeks with Mrs. Ochee (I think that's how it's spelled, sorry if it isn't). I'd definitely recommend Naranca for anyone living in the area that wants their child at a quality school that has caring teachers.

The teachers and staff truly go above and beyond to create an environment where each child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to grow. We currently have three children at the school, and each of them has had such a positive and unique experience. The balance between strong academics and character development is something we deeply appreciate. It's clear that the school is focused on nurturing the whole child, building confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for learning. One of the highlights for our family has been the musical program. Our daughters have been involved in the school musical, and it has been such a meaningful experience for them. Not only have they grown in confidence and creativity, but they've also formed friendships across different grade levels, which has been so special to see. The sense of community that comes from these programs is truly something unique. We couldn't be happier with our experience and feel lucky every day to be part of this amazing school. It's a place where children are encouraged to thrive, friendships flourish, and families feel genuinely connected.

There wasn't ever any trouble, just no willingness to be part of school functions, class projects, and we were about to succumb to the idea that was just the way it was. No joy for school or even extra-curricular activities. Well... these teachers did amazing things!! My child is like a whole new kid. The small class sizes helped them focus on my child's needs, and the care the teachers showed made such a difference. Now my child loves school, can't wait to "try" math (it can still be hard) and is in the school play! I would have never thought this could happen. I was just looking for a place where a child could feel welcome and loved, and, oh yeah - learn. I am so very thankful that we took a chance on Mt. Helix Academy. I can't recommend them enough!
