We searched for a restaurant on TripAdvisor and found that this restaurant is rated No. 4, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. We arrived at a nicely decorated restaurant to be greeted by one of the owners. He seated us and explained the menu for the day.
The restaurant provides a several course preselected meal, although I'm sure they'll work with you if you want something different than what is offered. We had three appetizers - a ham salad, calamari and fish carpaccio, two entrees - langostinos and fish fillets, and dessert - Turron ice cream and brownie with a bottle of wine, coffee and after dinner drinks. The meals are all inclusive for $35 Euro per person - quite a deal, as far as we are concerned.
We loved the different sauces used to prepare the different plates and used the bread to continue enjoying them after the food was gone. I think our favorite meal item was the langostinos which were cooked in a blood orange and cognac sauce. The Turron ice cream also was fantastic - we would have happily had several more plates full. The chef came out to describe some of the plates and the service was not only extremely friendly but also impeccable throughout the meal.
This is definitely a neighborhood gem worth trying. The only thing we would recommend changing is providing some sort of side dishes with the meal (ie, vegetables and rice or potatoes), but maybe that's the American sides of us talking. If you are in Valencia looking for Spanish food that is slightly modernized, this place definitely is worth a try. read more
