The beans doesn't come with cheese on top which is telling for me on authenticity. All the Mexican households I've eaten, never have cheese sprinkled on top! The rice came with some peas and corn mixed in lightly. Hubby enjoyed it. Dessert was churros and flan. I didn't like the flan, it didn't match the texture and quality in the photo they present. The corn tortillas were the most flavorful corn tortillas I've ever had! They had texture and they were clearly NOT the type of corn tortillas that I get at most places, those premade floppy unflavorful corn tortillas like the ones you get in the pack of 150 at the grocery store. When I find out, I will let you know because the texture and flavor of the corn tortilla on the Machete was phenomenal. The place was packed when we got there. It was packed when we left. Clearly, they get plenty of business. Everyone around us seemed happy and content with their food and so were we. I will definitely be back for another Machete to try some other things as well.
