I really wanted to like this place but after visiting twice my conclusion is that it's just okay.
On my first visit I tried the chorizo, which had an interesting flavor but was overcooked and dry. They also messed up the order and added a not-asked-for tlayuda to it, upping the price of the meal (the prices here are perfectly reasonable by the way).
Still, I was persuaded by the owner's boasting ("a chef in New York tells people to come here!") and came back two nights later. This time I tried the chuleta, which was quite good but they didn't have any tortillas to go with it! What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have tortillas? They were selling for 12 pesos a kilo right around the corner.
I still think this place has promise but expect inconsistency. read more
