They have amazing quesadillas and fantastic guacamole and pico. Every ingredient is fresh and you can't beat the simplicity of their menu. I highly recommend Pescados for a quick lunch or dinner and the best seats in the house are on their side patio. They also have great cookies for dessert. I would also recommend getting extra pico to add to their cheese dip, although good flavor it is extremely thick and needs something to cut the density. I will definitely be back in November during the wine tasting festival!

Over my past several visits this week, the atmosphere has completely changed for the worse. Everyone who works here seems genuinely miserable now, and the warm, welcoming environment it used to have is entirely gone. The overall shift in tone is deeply concerning, but a few specific incidents were particularly upsetting: First, the staff environment feels tense and uncomfortable. Employees who used to chat freely now seem hesitant and nervous to even talk to customers, constantly looking back toward the person at the register as if they are afraid of getting in trouble. Second, I was so disappointed to hear how staff members were speaking about their own team. I overheard the cashier and another employee speaking in another language which I happen to understand having a conversation where they were talking very negatively and making extremely unkind personal remarks about a coworker who was standing right near them. It was heartbreaking and incredibly unprofessional to witness team members being spoken about like that in front of customers. Third, I personally witnessed unacceptable hygiene practices. I watched the person working the register eat food directly out of the service area while wearing her work gloves, and then immediately continue using those same contaminated gloves to operate the register and serve customers. On another visit, an employee was eating chips directly off a serving tray. When my husband asked her to please change her gloves, she acted frustrated and resistant, only changing them after another employee stepped in. It is so disheartening to see a place I used to love turn into such an uncomfortable environment. The food is still good, but the miserable staff dynamic, disrespect between coworkers, and clear disregard for basic food safety make it very hard to enjoy coming here. I truly hope management takes a close look at what is happening and addresses these issues immediately.

Friendly staff greeted us as we walked in. The waiter promptly arrived and brought chips and the house salsa to our table, and most of them were broken and looks like they took from the bottom of the barrel. The salsa bar was a nice addition so you could have various flavors. We ordered a regular and watermelon margaritas and they were not good, no taste of tequila at all. I was surprised at this since other reviews said great drinks. So far two strikes against them. I was starting to regret coming here since there are many good Mexican places in town, but things changed quickly. Our second basket of chips was much better, and once we received our food orders I was very pleased. I ordered Chili Rellenos and they were fantastic, much better than I've had in many other places. My wife ordered the 4 enchiladas platter and it was beautiful, plenty of chicken and fillings, with tasty sauces on each type. It was so big the rice and beans had to come on a separate plate. I normally prefer refried beans over the rice for side dishes, but that rice was very flavorful which was surprising to me since most are bland. My son had the seafood burrito and he said it was very good with a lot of seafood. It filled him up, which is an accomplishment in itself. All the portions were large and prices were very reasonable. Our waiter provided great service. He didn't speak English very well but no points were taken off for that. He knew enough to do his job. Their health scores were also very high, which was why we chose this place over others in the area we normally chose in the past. I would rank this place up there against any of the other local Mexican restaurants and hope they do well. At the time of our visit, the Ingles in Cashiers had coupons on the back of the receipt, so you can save a few bucks on the already very reasonable prices there.
