Food truck

El Agave is one of my favorite taco spots and I'm sure they will remain a fave. I used to make the long trek to Baymeadows but now the food truck comes to my office a few times a month and there's a location near me at the beach! Sooo conveninent. The birria tacos are yummy, and I love that they expanded their birria offerings to quesadillas and a pizza!!! And I love the Taco Agave Fries - carne asada on fries with toppings...man, they are an absolute guilty pleasure of mine. Highly recommend.

Asada Taco, Carnitas Taco, and Shrimp Taco

Had been hearing about El Agave Azul for a bit now so when I heard the food truck was going to be in our neighborhood I knew I had to check them out. Since hearing about the Birria Taco and seeing similar food on videoes online I new I had to go! Since this was the first time they were in our area I made the decision that I had to order a little more then normal. I mean who knows when I would see them next. So, I ordered 5 tacos. I went with 2 Birria, 1 Asada, 1 Carnitas, and 1 Seafood with Shrimp. Once home I dug in. Everything was done as traditional Mexican Street Tacos which was great to see since so much is Tex-Mex now. I will say I was a little caught off guard of which taco was my favorite. Don't get me wrong all of them were good but the Seafood Shrimp Taco was by far my favorite. It was so fresh and flavorful. The shrimp were also cooked perfectly. The other 3 just were a little dry and lacked flavor which I didn't expect from the Birria Taco the most. Was just a little plan tasting for my liking even with the meat juices for dipping. But they are still worth a try. I would 100% come back since I haven't had much luck with Mexican Food Trucks and El Agave Azul is for sure my favorite now. Till next time and make sure to come back to Bartram please.

We love the birria tacos and all other combinations with that like quesadillas and tortas. The tacos in general are great. The salsa and chips could be better.

OMG El Agave Azuls Birria tacos are deliciously addictive! This sweet, sour, slightly spicy, and utterly savory Mexican beef stew is slow cooked until the beef is tender and fall-apart juicy and delicious. Then this beefy deliciousness goes into a taco shell and is then dipped into the stew and fried up. The best crunchy juicy taco you will ever have -- Birria tacos are so good you'll be coming here every week.

Not good at all. Chips are literally Tostitos ! Just threw away 5 chicken tacos. Not fresh at all.

This is the best taco truck. I cannot rave enough about the shrimp tacos! Got them for lunch and a shrimp burrito bowl for dinner. That is how much I like them. Wonderful guys also!

I walked over to the food truck, which was the longest part of my experience with them. The nice man at the counter informed me that I could order on the new digital screens, but asked what I was getting so he could start my order. Incredibly great service! I put in my order and paid right from the menu boards! For the best part is, I put in my phone number and received a text when my food was ready, so I didn't have to listen around for my name. A few minutes later, my food is ready and I'm on my way! It was still piping hot when I sat down to eat five minutes later. Fries were crispy, sauce was tangy and the shawarma was balanced. 15/10!! Overall, make sure you check the out, you won't be disappointed! And if you are disappointed by their food...it might just be you...

After a short wait, my food was delivered, and I noticed a small container of red sauce included with the meal. I wasn't sure what it was at first, so I tried it with my fries. I originally thought it was curry, but it had more of a thin, runny consistency with a spicy kick. It worked okay with the fries, but I chose not to put it on the gyro. Unfortunately, the fries were the biggest disappointment. They were extremely salty and mostly made up of the small broken pieces you usually find at the bottom of the bag. The gyro itself was good, especially after adding some white sauce my friend received with her order. We ordered the exact same meal, so I was surprised that she received three different sauces while I only received one. Overall, my first experience with 904 Saffron was lacking. Between the overly salty fries and the inconsistency with the orders, I expected a little more for a meal that cost over $15.

I realized I had bad attitude one day, and I needed to change it, and the best way to change it?…read moreHave a fabulous lunch. Ella Maybe the best lunch you can have in North Florida. Yes, I'm talking about eating at the food truck called On the Fly. Calling it a food truck is in this number, I'm not sure what you would call. It is fabulous. Now let's start off with the negatives, parking is not as easy as it is for most lunch places, but it's really not that bad if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of slots on the street before you get to the restaurant, and if you called ahead and are just picking up then you can park in the reserve lot, where On the Fly is located. Now these spaces are reserved for lawyers going to the courthouse, which is nearby. So you can't park there here all day, but if you're just stopping in for lunch or if you've called ahead or just picking up takeout, then you should be fine. If you're in someone's spot, the first place to look is the restaurant, so just know you may have to move fairly quickly. For me, I like to call in advance, place my order, and then Park in one of the spaces. Then I pick up my food and go and I'm only there for five minutes. Now that that's all out of the way, let's talk about some of the best food that you will have in Jaxonville. On the Fly sauce - I think this is made by a team of leprechauns they keep in the back of the food truck. Because it comes out so fresh, so delicious, and if they sold it by the gallon, I would be numero Uno in buying it. Blue chips - a great starter chips and blue cheese, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Firecracker Sesame seared Tuna - another solid performer, it has some kick to it, although the tuna is always perfectly cooked. Sweet and spicy quesadilla - oh my God, this dishes as close to heaven as I think I will ever get to. The chicken is so tender and put into a tortilla with caramelized onions, banana peppers, and covered in On the Fly sauce. I don't know how but this works so well you cannot imagine. Dorami Food Truck Experience -- 7:49 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026…read more I was genuinely excited to see Dorami listed in my neighborhood the day before and made an effort to stop by, even knowing I might be cutting it close to closing time. As I drove into the Bartram clubhouse parking lot, I was happy to see the truck still there. The service window was open, and there were no visible signs indicating that you were closed. I walked up, took a moment to look over the menu, and was ready to place a fairly large order. Unfortunately, before I could say a word, I was abruptly waved away by a staff member who told me they were closed--in a tone that came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. I completely understand that closing time is closing time, and there may have been circumstances I wasn't aware of. However, customer service doesn't end the moment service stops. A brief, courteous explanation or even a simple apology would have made a big difference in how that interaction felt. I came ready and excited to support your business, but instead left without food and with a very negative impression. As a military veteran who has spent time in Okinawa, I have a deep appreciation for food that brings back meaningful memories, and I make a point to support businesses that offer that connection. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Great food is only part of the experience--how customers are treated, even in brief interactions, leaves a lasting impression. Thank you for your time.

I ended up ordering the coconut shrimp, which the person who took my order said was one of their specialties and I added on the coconut hush puppies. Given that they had a huge sign saying that their cheese balls were amazing, I grabbed an order the mozzarella ones as well. I must admit that I was a little confused as to why a seafood place was selling cheese balls...but, oh well, I love fried cheese. I was told that since I hadn't placed my order online ahead of time, as I didn't know that was an option, my order would take 52 minutes. I was given a time to return to the truck. Nearly an hour wait is a long time for truck food. I tend to think of food trucks as a great go-to for a quick meal. I mean, even an hour wait in a restaurant for food is a ridiculously long time. Nevertheless, I agreed and paid. My order was ready right on time! I was able to skip the line when I arrived back there and received their text and everything was correct when I checked the boxes before leaving. Nearly everything was also overly fried including the french fries which were dark in color, hard, and difficult to eat. The shrimp were large and nicely breaded and they had a good flavor to them. But the coconut hush puppies were burnt in places and had no appreciable seasoning or flavor aside from coconut pieces. I guess I was expecting the usual spices in a hush puppy with the addition of coconut. And the cheese "balls" were melted discs of breading around some of the cheese. They were still edible but not what was advertised. I remember trying a brie ball from Nomi's Cheese Bar at Gastrofest years ago and what I got was much more successful back then (see pic). It looks like these companies have merged or perhaps they are the same folks?!?! The issues on the night that I went may have been because of the crowd or because their oil temperature was too high. I wish I had tried something that didn't require a fryer to be able to better asses their flavors. This truck seems to have potential but I just didn't have a great experience, particularly given the relatively high costs of the food.

And thankfully neighbors are praticing social distancing. They had prepared food and placed it on a table so you could see what you were buying before ordering. I chose the fried haddock and coconut hush puppies. Both were deliscious! First, the coconut hush puppies were unlike anything I had ever tried. I love coconut, and these puppies packed a huge amount! They were big in size so I only ate one with dinner. Plus the dipping sauce was a perfect pairing with the coconut. I shared the order of four with my niece. The haddock exceeded my expectations! The piece of fish was huge so I split it into two meals. The fish was flaky and the batter was nice and thin how I like it. And packed with yummy flavor! I heated the remainder on my baking stone the next day and it was oh so good. I will most definitely try another meal when Island Girl pops up in my neighborhood again!
