The Gumbo man serves many classic NOLA staples from Gumbo, Po Boys, Boudin balls, and much more. The service is always friendly and with a smile or joke. The upside is that the food is absolutely amazing, the downside, because the food is so good, you may have a bit of a wait if the line is long. Best bet is to check his Facebook page for his location and try to make it before everyone else does. Today, I ordered my favorite, a shrimp po boy and also a large pepper jack boudin ball. The po boy is classic, French bread, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and overly loaded with very fresh shrimp. I always eat a bunch of shrimp off the sandwich before I take a bite because it's that loaded! The boudin ball was a first for me. It was a crunchy outside, and a hot smooth inside packed with flavor and goodness. I will definitely be getting this again. I had very heard of them but after looking them up on Yelp I new we had to stop by on our way out of town. I ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich fully dressed with hot peppers and cheese. For my side I upgraded from the house made chips to the Gorgonzola Chips (100% worth it and recommend). The Italian Beef was amazing and loaded with beef. The mun was a little soggy but that's what your going to get with you get a true Chicago style Italian Beef. You want all those delicious juices. Meals are around $10-$11 for a meal unless you upgrade to a premium side. But still pretty well priced. I can't stress it enough get the Gorgonzola Chips they are amazing and some off the best I have ever had. We will return for sure.

They have a nice seasoning on them that makes them better than your average side tots. Overall, food is good and the service was fast, but the names were confusing? Being a Miami Cuban myself, I was unfamiliar with what they're calling a Miami Cuban sandwich. Did some googling, but didn't find much on the additional stuff on it being associated with Miami. Best I could find was an article that said that style was popular in Key West? The salami part seems to be popular in Tampa which would make sense for the truck name. Also, if you're wondering, what they call Miami sauce is mustard, mayonnaise, and horseradish (I wish the would write that somewhere, because no amount of googling could find that answer). I also didn't like they snuck in an increase to the tots prices when I got to the front; their sign above says sub tots for $2 and so did the menu they sent us ahead of time, but at the bottom it says $3. Not worth making a fuss over a dollar though, just kind of mildly annoying in the moment, but I also saw that the loaded tots were up $3 over what the menu had shown. But either way, if they ever came back I would still probably order again.
