    I've never been inside the physical restaurant, but I've had the food at a lot of events and I recently got a to-go order (ugh COVID-19). So glad the Bay Area is seeing a rise a Nigerian/ West African food! Grew up on jollof rice so it's cool to have somewhere to pick it up real fast (I can't cook lol). Every time I have food from Eko Kitchen I typically get the standard jollof plate. So good! So spicy! Be careful if you can't take heat haha. Love all of the flavors. Will definitely get some more to-go orders. 10 meals for $100 and they're delivering during the corona virus pandemic!

    First time having Eko Kitchen and we came away very impressed. They are currently doing pre-orders only with orders suppose to be in by noon each day. We ordered the sample platter for my girlfriend and I which lasted us 2 very good meals so for $75 for a meal for 4 people this is a pretty good deal. Here are some thoughts on what we had: Chargrilled Chicken - have us 7 or 8 pieces - leg with attachment - very seasoned with a good amount of spice which I loved Asun (smoked peppered goat meat) - don't get a ton of goat which makes sense given the price - goat meat was falling off the bone delicious Dodo(fried sweet plantains) - elevated plantain that were more round in shape and quite crispy Jollof rice - also packed the spice to it. My 2nd favorite thing other than the chicken Coconut Honey bean porridge - this complimented everything else quite well, haven't had a ton of porridge but I really enjoyed it Nigerian stewed spinach - ate this the least as I don't love stewed spinach in general but my girlfriend loved it Puff puff (Nigerian donut holes) - also not for me personally but my gf thought it tasted like cinnamon toast crunch Very impressed with Eko Kitchen - plan on using them in the near future for takeout

    This being the only Nigerian restaurant in the city I had to visit and check it out. Made a reservation and walked over. Inside decor is really fabulous and the music selection was fitting and non disruptive. Most importantly the food was on point. Swallow + egusi soup was my selection and it nearly* nearly rivaled that of my mother's cooking. Also loved the zobo beverage and am looking forward to taking a friend with me next time.

    Nigerian food is difficult to find in the city. Great nigerian food is nearly impossible to find. But I did! Eko Kitchen is fantastic. Its authentic and some of the delicacies are fused with non Nigerian meals which add a feeling of curiosity which is quickly accompanied with a feeling of satisfaction. 4 more words. YOU GOTTA TRY IT!

    SIP review - Sunday dinners only. Wow, what an exciting adventure! My wife and I got the Naija Couples Meal, which comes with an absolute feast of a meal! Not being too familiar with Nigerian food, I'll try to describe what we received: - Fried plantains : Admittedly, didn't feel freshly fried but came with a nice spicy dipping sauce. - Bean stew : Kinda like a heartier daal, but this one was sweet and had some coconut flavor - Sauteed greens : Loved 'em! - Spice rubbed chicken with onions : Good! My wife's fav of the bunch - Jollof rice with chicken drumstick and sauteed plantains : Fall off the bone chicken that had the same spicy sauce as the fried plantains - Jollof rice with goat : I really enjoyed the goat. Not gamey, and the gravy it was in was different from the other dishes - Naija donut holes : Fried dessert that was not too sweet, but definitely had some kinda spices in it that made it different from American donuts Admittedly the flavors in every dish were very foreign to my tastebuds, and took a moment to adjust. I've enjoyed a number of African cuisines (Senegalese, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Liberian, etc) and I'd have to say Nigerian is quite different from those. That being said, I loved having this unique experience. By the end of the meal, both my wife and I would love to come back. We each have our favorites and would definitely venture out to try their other dishes once they're able to open back up properly. Keep doing your thing, Eko Kitchen!

    Great Nigerian restaurant in San Francisco SOMA neighborhood! Excellent food.. it was unique and tasteful, outstanding service and affordable prices! Great decor and music. Highly recommend Eko's kitchen!

    it took 40 min to just get water and drinks on table, even longer for the food, plus they forgot one of our dishes.

    Hi! We do not sell fufu which is a fermented yam product. Instead, we have pounded yam which is actually fresh yam product and pairs better with Egusi soup.

    7/27/25 Zach…read moresurprised me with a ramen cooking class at The Story of Ramen. I lovvvve ramen (and noodles in general) so I was ecstatic for this experience. The Story of Ramen is located in the Mission so parking was a little tricky. We got to the general area 20 minutes before so that we could get a decent parking spot. We did the 4 hour advanced workshop where we learned about how to prepare the broth, marinated eggs, chasiu pork, tare seasoning and how to make the ramen. For that day, there were 5 other pairs. Our teachers Manville and Jeff, guided us through every step of the arduous process of making the perfect bowl of ramen. The workshop started off with a lecture about the history of ramen and the creation of The Story of Ramen. Of all the tasks we did, my favorite was making the ramen itself. After learning in detail how much work goes into making ramen, I appreciate ramen more than I ever did before. This was a great team building activity and something new for us. I highly recommend this and of course you get to eat the bowl of ramen you make at the end of the workshop!
