A hotel and restaurant run by the nicest and friendliest owners one could imagine They are the very definition of hosts. There is a large formal dining room that fills fast every day with local and traveling people. There is a casual eating area at a full bar in another area of the building.
I had revoltillo de setas con crujiente de jamón (scrambled eggs and mushrooms with crispy ham) for a starter. The better half had the pumpkin soup for a starter. I had the tacos de jabalí con chocolate which turned out to be wild boar (javelina) stew made with a chocolate sauce. The meat was falling apart tender and the addition of chocolate took out the gamey flavor common to boar. Overall it is a unique dish made locally, especially in autumn when the boar graze the nearby apple orchards. The missus had the sirloin steak cooked on a iron skillet. Very tender.
The missus had lemon ice cream with honey with a crunchy topping while I had tiramisu. Wine, crusty bread and bottled water were included in the $22 pp cost.
One of the best meals we had in Spain. read more
