Newburgh was the best of the three, and not by a little. The staff were calm without being clinical, caring, attentive. They moved like people who understood that the dog on the table was, to me at that moment, the whole point of everything. I am grateful they were open. I am grateful they were good. I hope I never see them again, in those circumstances anyway.

I love that they let you stay in the room for the exam and participate vs taking my dogs away from me to a place I can't see like they do at some other veterinary clinics. We get them on the table and I stand at their head where they can see me to calm and reassure them, while a tech stands on one side and Dr T on the other for their exam. We love a fear free visit! Additionally, my boy Ruxpin has had eye surgery there (pretty standard for the breed) 4x. He's very fragile medically d/t a greedy breeder who cared more about money than his health. Without Dr. T's expertise in Shar-Pei health, he undoubtedly would have died. People come from all over the US to see her; even one from Dubai! I wouldn't trust anyone else with their health.

First off, it's impossible to find someone to groom a cat in this area. We had a situation and desperately needed help with our long-haired Siberian. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely love animals. They took the time to understand my cats needs, her personality, and ensured a tailored grooming experience. Since January 20 23, they've taken in close to 400 local dogs that were either lost or needed placement into new homes due to circumstances beyond their control. The local SPCA is not associated with the ASPCA, but they are a small nonprofit that depends on funding from communities to keep the doors open and keep the employees paid to continue rescuing and saving and placing puppies and dogs into their forever homes.. the new board and all of the employees give a warm welcome to people coming in and take care of all the animals that are in the shelter as if they were their own. It's a beautiful facility and they do different charity events to help. Keep those doors open. The dogs that I adopted are the most perfect pups in the whole wide world and I may be a little bit biased because I love them so much. When my cat died, the Spca helped me with getting him cremated and we're so caring which really warmed my heart.

Our cat got into a fight and wound up with a cut on the side of his nose. Our daughter had the car, so I called Dr. Barbara MacMullan and she came over after she was done working her day job, at a local Vet's office. For $50 she did a full exam, weighed our cat, clipped his nails, examined his ears, eyes and mouth and talked to us at length about the options. We didn't want to lance the abscess because it was so close to the eye, so she prescribed amoxicillin. Two days later our cat was on the mend. We didn't have to take him anywhere! No stress. And a $10 savings from going to the Vet. A Vet who makes house calls is great. A Vet who makes thorough house calls and follows up is amazing. And Dr. MacMullan definitely falls into the latter category. :)

My definition of a day is 24 hours. I dropped my two Great Danes off at 5 PM and picked up less than 24 hours later. I was charged $150. I asked if it was ever possible to be charged for a single day at all- they responded that only for "Doggie Day Care" is it possible for a dog to secure a one-day price. So, hypothetically speaking, if you dropped your dog off at 11:59 PM and picked up at 12:01 AM, they would call that "2 days." Called two other kennels before writing this review to make sure that wasn't industry standard. They said it was ridiculous. 2) I asked if they provided bedding, and they said they did. They knew I was boarding 2 Great Danes together in one kennel. They provided one raised bed for a medium sized dog. Would've been simple for me to provide my own had they just told me that. 3) They are open for two 2-hour windows per day, so plan carefully for pickup and drop off. I'm hoping that means "open-to-public" and they attend to the dogs more frequently then that, but I wouldn't put any bets down. Also, they told me a cash price over the phone that was not offered to me in person when I picked up. Not that I had the right amount on me anyway. I assumed, like a normal person would assume, that less than 24 hours fell in the "one day" pricing range. It's a shame. This kennel is near my house and I was looking forward to using them in the future. Nope.

Since the new ownership took over, our experience has gone steadily downhill. Prior to this, we had…read morenever once had an issue with grooming--no matter how long our dog's hair had gotten, even after COVID, the groomers always managed to brush him out without any problems. Unfortunately, that level of care has completely changed. We've dealt with several poor grooming jobs under the new owners, but this last visit was the final straw. We received a text saying they needed to go shorter, and we agreed--but when we picked up our dog, he had been completely shaved down to the skin. Our dog is part Husky, a breed that should never be shaved, and any reputable groomer should know that. To make matters worse, he had a cut on his neck from how close they got to the skin. Not only was the grooming unacceptable, but the staff also refused to take any accountability. Rather than admitting they were uncomfortable grooming our dog, they chose to proceed--and take our money--at the expense of his well-being. I have added photos of what he should look like versus how he looked when we picked him up. I can no longer recommend this place. Since the change in ownership and grooming staff, the quality and care have drastically declined.

She asked if I could send a picture.. even though It was agreed upon to bring my dog by Friday.. just a few days away. She said great and I'll send pics of our place. I received 8 pics of the owner/trainers dogs and other boarders animals. Weird I thought, I thought pics were going to be around the facility. She mentioned several times about a "raw diet" and how it helps with ear infections etc. she also went on to claim the Wurtsboro vet clinic is just out to get your money and how she is essentially a dog "anti vaxxer". After this odd back and forth I started having second thoughts and looked more in-depth at the reviews. The negative ones were not just bad, but downright horrifying for the owners and animals left in her care. Ranging from dogs being attacked to her rough handling with a training collar. Thankfully, my wonderful regular day care and boarding facility had a cancellation and called me. I contacted Elizabeth this morning so as to make sure she didn't turn down another potential boarder to have me then cancel on her. She thanked me for making her aware of the cancellation and then she got nasty. This just confirmed that I had made the right decision. Read the exchange yourselves. A true business owner and lover of animals would want to convert the occasional client to a regular. They would want to gain your regular business and the word of mouth of how awesome your facility, treatment of the animals and how professional and caring the staff/owner is.
