Kelly Jamil/Gray's Doberman, Ellenville, New York: Failed state inspections for issues that included frozen water, excessive fecal matter, and "heavy odor." In January 2025, state inspectors found very concerning conditions at Gray's Doberman, including two critical violations for frozen water and unclean conditions. The inspector noticed "accumulated fecal material," among other concerns. When inspectors went out again in February 2025, they were not able to gain access to the kennel to check on the dogs, leading to concerns about their welfare. The 2025 issues were not new to the kennel. During a May 2024 state inspection, Gray's Doberman had also failed to have acceptable conditions. Inspectors noticed a heavy odor with poor ventilation, and hay and dirt caked on some parts of the dog kennels, among other issues. Sanitation issues had been found at the kennel the prior year as well, with an inspector declaring some conditions were "detrimental to animal health." The kennel advertises puppies online. This was the most horrible experience ever. The business we bought a puppy from sold us a sick dog. We thought we were getting a healthy dog to surprise our kids with at Christmas, but instead we got a puppy that was ill and only the business knew. By the time we figured out he was sick, it was far too late and it ruined Christmas. Our kids were traumatized by having to return their Christmas present when we realized the puppy was sick. We would never dream of buying from this business again and would strongly recommend that nobody else ever do. This business is an absolute disgrace. The business in question did not provide any signs of an animal's health prior to selling a sick dog to an unsuspecting family under the guise of a trust and contract agreement. This highlights the business's complete disregard for the well-being of animals and it's lack of any meaningful standards or practices. Furthermore, this dog was irresponsible bred and sold without the proper checks or paperwork required by law. Ultimately, this reflects a complete lack of regard for the sanctity of life; it is both irresponsible and unethical. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business and strongly urge others to stay away from this despicable establishment. read more

Yesterday was a very sad day our family. On December 24th we drove to Ellenville, NY to pick up our new pug puppy. We named her Eve because she was our Christmas present to our 3 kids. Eve was 9 weeks old and we were assured she was healthy. We brought her home and she was the sweetest girl. She spent the day walking from lap to lap sleeping in our kids arms. Christmas Day we realized she wasn't eating the food from the the breeder, an all stage puppy food that we were assured she was eating. On the 26th we took her to our Vet who we have used for all of our dogs, including our previous pug Jersey who was apart of our family for 17yrs. They were concerned about her heath but hopeful a change in food would help her. She continued not eating and started throwing up as well as having diarrhea. The next evening we had to bring her to the emergency vet to try and save her life as she had started fading fast. They kept her overnight and in the morning we transported her to our vet where she then passed away. Our family is heart broken. When talking to the Breeder about the health guarantee which states in our contract that we would either receive our $1,200 back or another puppy if a NY state Vet deems the puppy unfit in 14 days which they did, unfortunately in only 4 days. We were only given the option of paying $500 more for another puppy. After paying another $1,200, on top of what we paid for our puppy, for all of her Vet bills to try and save her life. This breeder does not feel any obligation to our family and has showed no sympathy for us. Our vet has assured us this was an unfit puppy and our breeder should do the right thing by our family and unfortunately that is not the case. read more

The day I picked up our sweet Pyper girl the transition went smoothly and I was amazed how attached Kelly was to this puppy. I felt the love she had for all her animals and know she wants the best for her precious animals. When I drove out I looked in my rear view mirror and she was crying watching us leave.
