Best sandwich ever. I love their frozen pies. I tell everyone who drives down Route 66 to stop there.

Some of the best deli sandwiches I have ever had! My favorite is pepperloaf with swiss!

A good little small town Italian shop. The sausage has an authentic flavor. The stuffed shells and…read moremanicotti were some of the best we have found in quite awhile. The paninis were large and were very good, and meaty. The make for a great lunch while on the road. I highly recommend this place, it kind of off the beaten path, but worth the detour.

The business card refers to this business as Pallucca's Italian Meat Market and Catering. I would…read moreclassify it as a deli instead of a grocery. I've been confused about this business since news of the grocery store closing a few years ago. If you just drive by on Frontenac's main drag, it looks like the business is still closed. But on the west side of the building is the new entrance. It seems they just blocked off the front part of the store to save on utilities. The heart of the business is the meat counter, for which Pallucca's was always famous. You'll still find Pallucca's famous sausage. I was pleased to find the three types of italian cold cuts that I use to make muffalettas - which I'd previously only found at Tulsa's Fresh Market. There are lots of italian specialties, including several varieties of ravioli and homemade spaghetti sauce. They also carry the famed Frontenac Bakery bread. Also in in the meat counter are ready-made deli sandwiches (featuring fresh artisan bread) and salads. We really liked the cuban sandwich, which was big enough for two people. They grilled it in a panini press, which made it better than imagined. There are tables for dining in, and there and bottled soft drinks. Lunch specials are offered from 11 - 1 Monday thru Friday. Normal hours are 9-6 Monday thru Saturday, closed Sunday.

We have been trying to find new spots for lunch when in Joplin and found one for sure that we will…read morereturn to. Union Station Deli is a great place for lunch. It is NOT fast food but everyone knows you rarely get good food fast. It has a bit of a 40s vibe with big band music as background. I didn't get our waiter's name but the ticket said Music Man. He is friendly, attentive and stayed busy. I had the Big BLT and onion rings. 4 slices of bacon with garlic mayo on toasted, thick sliced white bread. Plenty to eat and fresh. Excellent sandwich. The onion rings were almost as good as Chicken Annie's. Deb had the Big Dipper and broccoli cheese soup. They both looked delicious and since she didn't have a leftover to take home, I would guess it tasted as good as it looked. I didn't think they were overly busy for 11:30 so help them out and go try it.

The place is cute as a button inside! We were super excited to try this spot out. When looking over…read morethe tasty menu, they have some great names for their sandwiches which is really funny! However, what is not so funny, is that all their sandwiches are one high price of 15.75 which also included things like grilled cheese and fried bologna which is just crazy to me. Now, I got the French Dipper and it was good. However, it was not bursting with flavor so it was a bit disappointing IMO. The onion rings were hand cut, but did not save the day either, luke warm and just alright tasted. Nothing to write home about :(. They did take very good care of us with a tandem wait staff and that was fantastic!!
