11/13/2019 - 1400 - Went to Walmart in Grove to buy my groceries and some dried goods as well as some home good. I needed to buy compressed air. I live in a three year old RV and my Furnace motor started making a whirring noise last night. I ran into the local RV repair man, George, at DJ RV. He was working on a repair on a neighbors RV. I told him about my noise in my fan motor on my furnace. After talking for a bit, he said I should try compressed air to try to clean it out first as it's a relatively new furnace. So while shopping, basket half full, I stopped by electronics and asked about purchasing compressed air. They keep it locked up behind the register and you have to purchase it there in front of them. The weird sales man asked what I needed it for. I told him I was going to attempt to blow out the motor in my furnace motor as suggested by a seasoned RV repair man who owns his own RV company. He then said he thought I was going to....."Blow myself up!". Then he said I was going to "sniff" the air? WTF. I didn't realize Walmart didn't do random drug tests or even drug test their potential employees during the interview/hiring process? This guy definitely had something wrong with him. I left the electronics area and started walking to the service area to find a manager. A store employee stopped me asking if I was lost in the clothing area. I told her what had happened to me, and said I was going to the service area to ask for the manager. She said, the manager wasn't there, but she would try to find me someone to help me and for me to go back to the electronics area and wait. I did just that. I was standing in front of the electronics area desk, and after a little bit, a young girl came over to me with a two pack of compressed air and asked what the problem was. I told her what had happened and she said no one told me I couldn't by the compressed air, which I responded, yes, that guy (pointing at him) told me I was going to blow myself up and he refused to sell the compressed air to me. She asked me to follow her, I left my basked and followed her to a self checkout where she asked me to check out. So I purchased the compressed air, leaving my groceries, and left the store. I ended up at Harps to buy the rest of my groceries. I was dressed in dress jeans, dress boots and a dress shirt, with my hair groomed. I work in IT for a company in Williams and have for 22 years. I didn't enjoy being treated like a criminal, drug user and being escorted to the self checkout to purchase the air. The children and immature adult employees that work at Walmart in Grove, Oklahoma, are a perfect example of, "You can't fix stupid." That is one messed up store. I had shopped there in the past and had difficulty finding assistance, finding an available checkout, or finding stocked shelves. It's unfortunate who ever is the Manager of that store is rewarded with their job when they have zero idea how to manage a retail store. Per my neighbors on Monkey, I should use the Walmart in Miami, I'm told it's light years nicer and better run than the one in Grove and only a 5 to 10 minute drive further. So that's what I will do from now on. So, if you enjoy being ignored, or treated like a criminal, then the Walmart in Grove is for you. I will avoid the Walmart in Grove from this point forward. My money is no good there anyway I guess after being escorted out for wanting to buy compressed air. Good lord what a broken store. I feel sorry for the uneducated, idiot, broken people that work there. read more
