So it's not the easiest to find unless you're specifically looking for and or purposefully reading the signs. Since it is in a short mall, parking was very amble so that was great. When we got in, there was a little to no weight, which was also very pleasant. The place is themed with all music and rock 'n' roll art and really bright bold colors. The service was OK, but she actually forgot our coffees and I had to ask a second time and when I asked the second time she only brought over one coffee instead of the original two we ordered We ordered chicken and waffles and quite frankly she told us that these were the absolute best chicken tenders and no sauce was needed, even though it did come with sauce, and I did order the hot honey sauce and the garlic Parmesan sauce. The tenders are good because the batter is seasoned however, I expected either more tenders or perhaps a smaller plate because if you look at the picture, it's more plate than it is meat The same could be said for the country fried steak. It was such a small piece for such a big plate. It didn't really make a lot of sense. Our waitress also told us that this place had the absolute best tater tots ever so we wouldn't put the tater tots and to be quite blunt these tater tots taste no different than any other restaurant This whole area of Northwest Indiana is so saturated with breakfast brunch spots that I have to say that the food has got to elevate itself to really stand out and also to stay relevant with all the competition.

I called right after I seen this and a different person on the phone answered & said I could still come in no issue as long as it's before 2:30pm. I told them what happened and they said the hostess did not know what I was talking about (trying to play it off) and claimed they only told me the business hours, not that I couldn't come in. Why would I lie about this? & if that was the case then why didn't she stop me from leaving? If I wanted the hours I would've called or looked on Google. But no, as I was going up the stairs the host had came to talk to me in the front entrance part of the restaurant before I could even enter the main door. Shame, I liked going here and as a table of 1 I would be pretty quick, about 30-40 mins in and out. Not sure why they didn't want to seat me vs the other group, and I probably wouldn't like to know the answer either. I typically tip more than half the price of my meal since the bill isn't much for one person, but I will take my money elsewhere then. For the owner, the host was the one on 04/12/2026 working at the time I stated above. They were a young female, with glasses, and medium cut hair. Not sure of their name.

For only having 5 tables of customers and 3 waitresses, it took 6 minutes to get a menu, then another 10 to simply place an order (from a pretty small and simple menu. . A basic order of a large orange juice, pancake special, no eggs no butter, biscuits and gravy no eggs and side of bacon, and a turkey bacon club, turned into a 20 minute wait for food, with no orange juice, no bacon. So 10 minutes later when we could finally get her attention, the annoyed 50+ year old woman appalled that we would want what we ordered. Crazy, I know. So she brings us a small orange juice (we ordered a large) and disappears til we get the check while bringing the side of bacon we ordered asking if we ordered it, while clearly holding a receipt saying we did. Needless to say $50 later for shitty service and bland ass food, we will not be back. It's a hole in the wall that should probably be bricked up like a mausoleum because clearly it's only meant for geriatric people lacking taste buds, with nothing but time and spare cash for overpriced slop ‍

I ordered a Diet Pepsi and a Coffee to start with. For food, I ordered Chicken Fajitas. They came with rice and tortillas salsa and sour cream. The Diet Pepsi was refreshing and tasty. They only gave me one free refill. The menu didn't show that restriction, so I think they should state that on there. I had to drink the complimentary water, because of that inconvenience. The water was okay, but another Diet Pepsi would have been satisfactory considering they were served in small cups. The Coffee was alright. It wasn't anything special and when I tried it with the Premium Cane Sugar packets, it didn't help too much. I got one refill on the Coffee and luckily it didn't cost extra for it, considering it was just alright. The Fajitas came in a plentiful serving! I was hoping that they would redeem themselves with these and they pretty much did. I was satisfied with the rice. The salsa and sour cream amplified the Fajitas to their full potential I'd say! The whole ensemble was solid. The service was acceptable throughout our visit. Our server brought us everything fairly fast. Overall, this place was a little over average. There wasn't anything that blew my mind. It was a local spot, so maybe I'll give them another try someday. Date of visit: 24-Feb-2023

There are two things I completely took for granted growing up: 1) Not everywhere does skillets this well (or at all). & 2) A skillet PLUS two pancakes for $12 is basically unheard of in my suburb of Indy. Sure, the ambiance hasn't changed much since I left over a decade ago -- and yeah, weekend mornings can get a little busy -- but honestly, that's part of the charm. Les Cafe has always been exactly what it claims to be: a classic, no-frills breakfast spot serving hearty, delicious food at a great price. I'm so grateful it's still here all these years later. The server spoke to us with an unfriendly attitude and used inappropriate language while asking what we needed. 2. For my decaf coffee order, the server took my cup from the table and filled it at their station instead of bringing a pot to the table. She stated it was decaf, but when I tasted it, it clearly was not. 3. The soup we ordered was served cold. 4. The pancakes were inconsistent--the top pancake was whole, but the one underneath was cut in half. 5. When it was time to pay, the server did not provide a receipt. We value Olive Café and hope these issues can be addressed. Were not happy
