The workshops are put on through the Superintendents office in conjunction with the Stemazing coordinator and other community members. The workshops are informative and provide teachers with resources they can immediately implement in their classrooms. The best part, everything is always done on a budget that can easily be implemented in the classroom. This is the second year for the Stemazing Teacher Leader program. This program allows teachers to plan workshops, improve their leadership skills, and become a more effective teacher. This program also allows teachers to come together and support one another through project based learning. This program is extremely valuable to Tucson. In addition, each time I come to the superintendents office, I can find up to date information about school events and the community. The center has a variety of resources for teachers and others who are interested or involved in education in Pima County. The staff is also very responsive and helpful.

I endured this, however. I completed my studies at Carrington and went on to deal with a very difficult externship. I was so excited to graduate and walk across the stage. When that day came, I found myself in the hospital after a horrible accident. I reached out to the staff at Carrington and asked them if I could please be given the opportunity to participate in a later graduation ceremony, so I could still walk across the stage and celebrate all the hard work I had put in and endured. I was told that I would hear from Kathy Bailey about participating in the next graduation ceremony. I never heard from her. It has been 10 months. Ive already accepted the fact that I will not be getting a graduation. The robes that I purchased with my own hard earned money are collecting dust and will never be worn. This is my own experience at carrington. I strongly encourage any student seeking to further their education to look elsewhere. Don't waste your time and your energy.

The sign language program was awesome and I learned a ton. They have teachers and staff within the program that are both hearing and deaf. It can be challenging, but was a fantastic program. You'd better be prepared to sit, listen, and take notes for the full 2 or 3 hours if you want it to be worthwhile. Since they have been doing exam reviews for so long they have acquired previous exams from teachers and possible questions for upcoming exams to help you do the best you can! The tutor is so knowledgable and is able to lecture on everything from Econ (which he has saved my grade in) to Spanish to Eller entrance exams! They are able to cram an entire month's worth (or more) of material in to a few hours and make it make sense. I wish all of my classes were like this! If you're the least bit worried about an upcoming exam, be here! The 20 or 25 dollars you'll spend will be worth it when you see that A on your graded test!

I had no prior knowledge of finite before taking it this year and would not have done near as well as I did had I not done this program. I went to class everyday and went to tutoring three times a week for 50minutes. I learned the material much better in one 50minute session of tutoring than I did in two class periods. The tutors at CTS take time to make sure their students understand the material and give plenty of practice problems that you do not get just attending class. The exam reviews were extremely helpful and covered all the material that was on my exams. I finished with a B+ in this course and would not have had I not enrolled in this program. It is a great investment and I highly suggest it.

It is soon to reopen (after needing repairs) and I went to check out their new website and saw this lone review on yelp that does not represent the amazing school that I have known and loved for years and years. The Director, Emily McCrea, is so connected to her teach through love philosophy. My children got a solid foundation of social emotional skills that have carried them strongly into elementary school. Parenting wasn't a breeze for me and I benefited greatly from her parent coaching from day to day, and from school parent meet ups/teach talks. I also signed up for her "Teach Through Love" classes that have been invaluable both with my parenting and with adult relations alike. She's soon to be awarded the Cecilia Avalos Parent Educator Award, and I can say she deserves it ten fold! I have made life long friendships within the DCS community and we still meet up every month to keep that connection going. That being said the community part is very real, and it has been so rewarding for my kids to have those early childhood bonds still in tact, and make new friends as the community grows!! I feel very lucky to have gone to DCS and to still have that community in my life! I highly recommend. Their new website is https://dcschooltucson.squarespace.com
