It really felt like a home away from home living at Eight70. The property manager, Tiffani, always made sure I was doing great when passing by her and her continued commitment to make the place more comfortable was real apparent (i.e., adding coffee machines, planning community events, and making small but nice-to-have aesthetic changes). She's super empathetic so was a great person to get new perspectives on things when I was stuck on something in my personal/professional life. Wish that I can go back there just for Tiffani to be my property manager. read more

I stay here for over two years since I relocated to Los Angeles. I feel so lucky to find my first apartment here. When we checked virtual tour online, I never expected it to be exactly same, but it is. Eight70 is a so nice, quiet and clean apartment, across street is UCLA garden and Raphls trade joes and Whole Foods is really near. Everything is super convenient. Tiffani is always nice to talk with us and take care of apartment maintenance ASAP. Clean lady do cleaning every morning. They make everything clean and organized. By the way, gym and swimming pool is really good if you like exercise. read more

It was very nice spending more than two years. I am very glad that I chose this place as opposed to anywhere else. The apartment and the general facility are well-maintained and clean. Tiffani, the property manager, is very responsive, nice, and takes safety concerns very seriously. The gym, pool, courtyard, and coffee machine are very nice features of the apartment. There are also holiday decorations and gifts, as well as tenent events such as free boba and taco. Not to mention its location---closer to UCLA campus than UCLA's own undergraduate dorms. Eight70 is easily one of the best apartments my Fiance and I have lived in. Despite opting to move, we are sad to leave such an awesome complex. The management team is definitely the best highlight of living here. Tiffani, the property manager makes such an effort into fixing the space to make it look more inviting, modern and safe. Huge props to her, as she truly advocates for a better home for tenants. From adding new safety features to adding something as simple as holiday decorations she's been the most hands-on manager we've ever had. Also Waggy our complex security officer is such a gem! He was such a friendly face to speak to every evening, and did such an amazing job securing the space at night. The Team at eight70 are nothing less of amazing. read more

This was the first apartment I have ever lived in and it was the best experience. My roomie and I were UCLA students and we were able to walk to class as the apartment was located in the best location. After class we would come back and enjoy the pool and tan. Apartment comes with a great gym too. Tiff is an amazing property manager and handled all our requests. Not only was she a manager, but she was also a mother figure to us. We loved 870 so much that my roomie and I got matching tattoos with our apartment number on our ankles. I will never forget my time here and I am so lucky that we were able to live in such a beautiful complex. read more

This is the best apartment I've lived in. Extremely spacious, well-maintained, newly renovated, clean, and comfortable living with all the amenities, including a beautiful outdoor pool, common areas, and fitness center. The location is perfect, across the street from the botanical garden and just a 5-10 minute walk from campus and countless tasty/fun spots in Westwood. It's an extremely positive environment with nice residents who are mostly young professionals/UCLA students. The maintenance crew could not be more responsive or thorough. Our wonderful manager Tiffani is really the #1 selling point though. She could not be more organized, dependable, hospitable, or genuinely invested in ensuring her residents have the best possible experience. Anyone would be lucky to live here! read more

She is always quick to respond to any tickets or inquires that we have. She also likes to put on social events at our apartment complex. Whether it be a boba or taco mixer, she always has something planned for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, during the holidays she likes to decorate the lobby with cute decor. We lived at eight70 for nearly 3 years while we were in law school and only moved away to be closer to our post-graduate jobs. We were so sad to leave such a wonderful apartment complex in such a fantastic location! Tiffani, the building manager is the most incredible person and made the apartment complex feel like a true home. Her decorations for holidays and wonderful additions to the lobby made it feel so luxurious and welcoming, and she was so helpful and quick to respond anytime we needed assistance with anything. We cannot say enough good things about Tiffani and this wonderful place, especially with its location right across from the beautiful UCLA botanical garden that our dog absolutely adored! read more

I want to explain why 4 starts instead of 5 (actual thinking) I have been a tenant in this building for little over 2 years. First 2 years I was not completely satisfied with management, they were not as efficient honestly and not very responsive when it came to a real problem. I will make suggestions, and nothing, not even a reply. But since few weeks ago, Tiffany, the new manager started. I started noticing changes and improves right away. She is very open, responsive, and efficient, always looking for have a nice, clean and comfortable space to live. There are some things that would be great to have of course, for example some parking for visits (although I understand it is not that easy in this location-which is great by the way), free laundry machines for tenants only (today you have to pay each time for both washer and dryer), cameras in the hallways and stairs for security, some yoga or pilates classes for tentants (some building around have this service and in the first year I lived here were some yoga classes actually). If you are a student with F-1 visa and seeking apartments close to the campus, please go through my review and listen to my experience before making your decision. My boyfriend and I visited this place two times and we were so excited about the lease signing and the future move in of this apartment. Everyone working at this property seemed to be very nice UNTIL the lease signing session. Even though we tried to communicated with the leasing agent, Jessica Pursell, as many details about this lease as possible before getting to the point of lease signing, we experienced the following unforeseen, and hidden lies about our lease contract: 1. We were told on the lease signing day that our security deposit increased from the regular $1500 to $6500 just because we are holding F-1 student visa. Although both of us have SSN and I have been studied in the U.S. over 7 years with great credit scores (fico 738), Jessica claimed that this is the policy to ALL F-1 student at their properties, which NO ONE has ever informed us before signing the lease and was not reflected on any website, flyer, etc. I am not even sure if this is legal to treat tenants differently based on their visa status. I visited several other apartments near Westwood area and they do not have this 'policy'. 2. Jessica told us that the 'one month free' promotion will allow us to skip the third month's rent, and we double checked with her SEVERAL times before the signing day. However, we were informed ON the signing day that this promo was postponed to the 6th month because, again, WE ARE F-1 STUDENTS. 3. The leasing agent, Jessica, was rude and impatient during the whole process of the lease signing, and mistakenly put a higher amount of the listed rent on the paper and asked us to sign (we pointed this out and it got fixed right away, so no complains). 4. Jessica set us a date to pay off all of the deposit and the first 1.5 month's rent (total is $11000+), which is clearly stated on the lease that this is due on the moving in day. 5. For all of the inconsistencies listed above and questions we asked during the lease signing, Jessica blamed us on not going through the lease prior to meet her. The funny thing is, she NEVER send us a copy of the lease (we even double checked our email to ensure we didn't miss any document she send to us). And again, as a leasing agent, I think it's your duty to explain everything and answer our questions before we signing the lease, right? Instead, she is super impatient about our questions and blamed us on something that is supposed to be her mistake. 6. I called the Moss&company several times to see if anyone could help us with the above concerns, but no one answered our phone calls. The apartment is pretty much brand new and the location is perfect to me as a UCLA student. However, the leasing signing process was not pleasant at all. It will only be even harsher if you are an international student who just arrived U.S. and perhaps with some language barrier. I am happy to communicate with managers at the company and go through my concerns. My boyfriend love this apartment so that I am hesitating to type down these words. We didn't have the chance to talk to the managers at eight70 but we are just hoping that the apartment is managed by someone who is more responsible and honest. read more

Please listen to this honest review from a tenant that was practically tortured for 11 straight months. I assure you that it is one of the most horrifying living situations you have ever heard. I moved into 870 Hilgard in late September. In Mid October/Beginning of November, the construction started. I am a student at UCLA so I'm used to the loud noise, although this side of campus is known for being quiet (which is why I was so excited to live there). I was paying $2000 for a 400sqft studio which had no kitchen. The apartment was very small, but I had decided that I could make it work because I had a balcony where I had set up a table and umbrella to have all of my meals. This was THE SELLING POINT of the apartment for me. About a month later I went home for winter break and when I had come back there was a notice on my door that said: "We are removing your balcony in the next 2 weeks, remove all items from your balcony we are not responsible for any of the damages to your property". The management here was so incompetent, they overlooked the fact that students on break missed the memos that they left on the door. My first day back from Winter break I enter my apartment to find dust EVERYWHERE. All over my rugs, all over my couch, my computer, my desk, my kitchen. Okay... I was kinda mad but I know that they had to do construction (even though they NEVER INFORMED ME WHEN I MOVED IN). I checked out my balcony door (the only window/source of fresh air in my apartment) and the balcony was just gone. My table and chairs and umbrella, all gone. I went the next day and asked the manager where my stuff went, he told me to check the courtyard. I went and looked at my wick chairs, ripped apart. My glass-top table, shattered. My umbrella was the only thing in-tact (covered in paint and dust though). I told the manager about my situation and he told me there was nothing he could do and that they weren't responsible for damaging my things. I told him that I wasn't home for a month because of the break and they removed my balcony before I got back, he apologized but told me there was nothing he could do. Fast forward 2 weeks into this nightmare, I have been woken up at 7am by a jackhammer about 2 feet from my pillow removing the wall that is touching my bed. I was studying with my earplugs in inside my room when 4 large construction worked barge in and tell me they have to replace my balcony door. No notice on my door this time? They proceed to remove my glass balcony door while I'm in the apartment and I was forced to leave just because I was dying from all the dust in the air. I got back and I had a brand new door! Unfortunately, THEY FORGOT TO PUT A SCREEN DOOR ON. So now I have 1 big sliding window without a screen door, it's okay at least there are no bugs or anything to fly into my apartment. Lets fast forward another month. They've removed some of the exterior walls of the building and the walls are filled with holes. I'm studying in my room one lovely quiet Saturday (no construction on Saturday thank God), and I noticed a buzzing by the light in my room. The construction workers didn't notice that 3 beehives formed in the holes that they made outside my balcony door, no screen door to keep them out, no other windows in my apartment. I had to catch about 5 bees EVERYDAY to get some fresh air in my room. My last horrifying story comes when I was taking a nap in my room one day and the construction workers had to replace my front door. They removed my door but left a piece of wood (the picture below) in its place and left for lunch with me trapped inside and I had an interview in 30 minutes. I called the emergency management number and explained my situation and they said: "Are you sure". Yeah, I'm sure. I complained to management once a week and nothing changed. Moral of this story. Please don't live here. They don't care about you, they just want your money, and once you sign a lease this place will treat you like trash and leave you for dead. read more
