The semi-craze has come back in the form of "photo booth" businesses that can come to your event - a wedding, a fundraiser, birthday party, etc. - set up a "booth," have people post for 4 pics & dey get to take home one of those neat photo strips. This business is owned by Julius & Jasmin Maeva for a wedding I attended at the Hale Koa a few months ago. There were around 200+ guests in the ballroom, and once people caught wind of what the booth was about, people started lining up fast. It didn't let up for most of the reception, either. The bride & groom chose a package that allowed them to have copies of all of the photos on CD. I didn't interact too much with either since Julius was the one taking da photos & Jasmin was escorting/greeting people. Their website is a "work in progress" right now & yields little information. They flew in like Superman to save the day (family reunion). Last Friday, C&C finally called me to go over my permit. The original party rental company were not listed with the C&C as an insured vendor. Talk about almost having a panic attack. After talking with the office personnel that I'll call them back after checking with the original company who did not answer, I looked up via Yelp who were reliable party rental companies. A & B Party Rentals was the top of the list AND they are located in Kapolei. I contacted them and first thing I asked...are they listed on the C&C list of insured vendors. They said yes. They were also available for the date of my event. PERFECT. I chose my package and paid in full instead of a deposit because they saved my sanity. The day prior to the event, they called to confirm as well as find out what time I would be at the park because there is a two hour window of when they would arrive depending on the time I indicated I would be at the park. On the day of, they showed up within the hour and set up quickly and efficiently. Friendly young guys who had a good system of working together. Our breakdown was scheduled for 5:00pm but my family were having too much fun, that I contacted A & B party rentals to see if I could extend to 6:00pm. They were accommodating and said yes. The breakdown was just as fast by the same team that my husband and I chose to tip them again. At the end of the event, I had to breathe a sigh of relief that everything went as smooth as possible. The tent (20x40) accommodated my entire family of 60+. The picnic tables I requested were sturdy and easy to set up (NOTE: If you choose this table option, the table set up is on you.) The bouncer comes with its own generator and lasted way more than the expected time (4-6 hours). Recommend: Highly Returning Customer: I will be! I recently heard about them and their signature lemon peel syrup and topped with lemon peel shave ice. I had to find out. It tastes like lemon peel. And like in the best way. The staff from Magnetic Moments were also very professional and were able to discreetly take pictures of our guests during the beginning of our reception. Within an hour or two they had already turned the pictures into magnets for our guests to take home. They took a tons of pictures and provided a copy on a CD for me and my hubby to keep. Their prices are also great. Photobooths are charging from $1,200 and up. You'll pay less than half of that and you'll have something unique for your guests. We bought the package that provides at least 200 pictures and it was about $550. We also liked it better than the photobooth because our guests didn't have to stand in any lines; the photographers came to them. Although it's fun to take a picture in a booth, I think our guests enjoyed receiving the magnets, especially since they didn't know they were getting them. We loved Magnetic Moments. It's an original idea, cost friendly, and the staff are super easy to work with.

Find See's on street level in the center of Pearlridge Mauka (formerly known as Uptown) near the escalators, across Starbuck's. This visit was long overdue. Stepping inside the store instantly brought back many happy memories of gift boxes filled with nuts and chews or molasses chips. Picked their dark chocolate truffles which were yummy! I selected the luxe package with snow white background that came with 2 template designs. Not only did one of my designs not print in the color I requested, but my logo was cut off in the print, and the saturation of the photos were so bad that the background came out pink. I expressed my concerns afterwards and Cristina agreed to reprint them and send them out to me so I can include them in my thank you cards. 2 months later, still nothing. I've emailed 3 times to ask where they are and have gotten no response. In addition, leading up to the wedding, the communication was just awful. It would take multiple attempts of reaching out to finally get a response. I would not recommend this service to anyone as it lacks professionalism and quality of service.
