Overall good breakfast. I had their corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, toast, fruit. The hash was very good, lean, diced fine, and cooked as a thin layer to maximize sear. It was then served folded over like an omelette. It had some nice slight sweetness to it, not from sugars I don't think, but probably some other ingredients. I'd get this again. Eggs Benedict is another of their specialties. Eggs were fine, not over buttered like much Southern cooking is. Only complaint: the coffee is watery and burnt tasting. It is probably low grade coffee beans. Service was fast and attentive. Store was clean. Parking is plentiful. I want to rate 4.5, but yelp forces whole numbers, so I rounded up. read more

Came here on Sunday morning at 9 am and the staff was very pleasant!! Not to mention that our food came out in less than 10 minutes. My eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes were delicious. My boyfriend got the corn beef hash, eggs and his favorite grilled blueberry muffin. Honestly, he raves about the muffin everytime we come!! The coffee was pretty scolding but that's not something anyone can really control. Just be careful! It's a diner style, sorta small but I think that makes it intimate. I'm a little upset that I forgot to take pictures...but if you're in Sumter, SC for whatever reason, make sure you stop here! This is probably the best breakfast you're going to find, period! The food was amazing! I ordered a vegetable omelet, my husband ordered the Greek omelet, and we both ordered halves of the sweet potato pecan waffles (instead of toast). Let me just say, I have NEVER been to a restaurant that allows that. Usually you can sub toast or biscuits for a pancake, but never a waffle--or a specialty waffle at that! Tried this place twice and disappointed both times. First time was able to order lunch (a simple veggie wrap) but had to wait 30 minutes for it. Server never came by to check on us or give an update. Every time I go to Sumter, SC and Myrtle Beach, we always go for breakfast at Eggs Up Grill. I have not had a bad breakfast. My favorite dish is the banana pancakes and turkey bacon with hash browns. Did I say I love the banana pancakes? The two pancakes are large, fluffy and not doughy. You can ask them to put the other items like Carmel on the side. I have also tried the waffles and they are just as good. Most places don't serve turkey bacon, but they do. This is one of the best turkey bacon I have tasted. I look forward to going back each time I'm in SC. I would love to open a franchise if I had the funds in Roanoke. The place is always clean! read more

We had breakfast at the Eggs Up Grill a week ago and give a good thumbs up on the food here. It was very good and we had plenty. We have to give 5 stars to our waiter, Tory. He was fantastic. My daughter and I come here every Saturday and Sunday and LOVE it. The folks know us and are wonderful. What I order is a bit odd but they cook it exactly how I like it. I gave eggs up grill another shot this morning, Ok here it goes I ordered Steak and Eggs, (this was on a Wednesday morning not crowed at all so I got a booth Yea!) The place was MUCH cleaner than my last visit, I was dinning alone this morning and first thing I noticed was how clean the floors were big +, when I sat down (they had the "please be seated" sign up) so no cramped small little table thank God (they are still there but like I said before if you are lucky you get a big comfortable booth) back to things that are of some importance (besides comfort) the table was immaculately clean and neat no grease at all HUGE improvement! The staff were different than I had before (as I used to go mostly on Sundays for breakfast), but were every bit as nice, super friendly and a general pleasure to be around. The food came to my table quickly and was hot and fresh, the potatoes were very good and the eggs were prepared properly (harder than it sounds around Sumter), but the steak was VERY disappointing although it was topped with an exceptionally well flavored tomato that helped it out a little but not enough for me to half way finish it, also there was some very good and crispy garlic bread toast (that for breakfast was a lot better than you would think) I am glad that I took the suggestion left for me by (I think manager) and gave them another try they are now back no my rotation not a 5 star (steak was not good) but they have definitely improved to a solid 4 and are as I have now stated exceptionally clean. Clean goes along way with me as do other little things like soda being fresh (and theirs are fresh) some Sumter restaurants the Soda comes out of the machine flat how do you even do that?
