If you're looking for true Southern comfort food, Bazen's in Florence is a must-visit. The buffet…read morewas packed with delicious home-cooked favorites, and everything we tried was fantastic. The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the fried okra had just the right amount of crunch. We also enjoyed biscuits, collard greens, peas, cornbread, and washed it all down with some of the most delicious sweet tea around. And don't even think about skipping dessert because the banana pudding was absolutely worth saving room for! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their Southern hospitality added even more to the experience. There were plenty of other options on the buffet, but these were the dishes that won us over that day. If you're craving authentic Southern cooking served buffet-style in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Bazen's is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back!

This is very unfortunate because I truly love McAlister's and the employees at this one are nice people but the food is getting to the point of walking . I pay extra for the extra chicken and lately I have been getting less chicken then you would normally receive . This is 2 of the last three salads we ordered the other day . Paid for and was charged for extra chicken . The last 4 times this has happened and it is not like I can turn around and go back while on a lunch break . I have been giving the benefit of the doubt but unless something changes I can not keep supporting one of my favorite places to eat .

After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. It is for sure comfort food but nothing sits heavy and feels super fresh. Not a fan of coleslaw but it was super yummy and great corn fritters for our first time having them. Service was great. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Buttery and cheesy grits with sausage and nice shrimp (not over-cooked or chewy). Green beans were slightly too soft (30-mins until closing), but good comfort food. Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

The buffet had sausages, fried bologna, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, French toast sticks and much more. Before we knew it, the place was buzzing. It seems to be a favorite for local people. So many took out food. Our waitress was great, making sure we had plenty of fresh hot delicious coffee. We're sorry there aren't more Shoney's near us in Florida.
