Eggs was excellent. I really enjoyed how they had different riffs on the classic carbonara and the egg sampler was to die for! I would highly recommend trying this place regardless if you are local or just passing through Rome - it's well worth your time. For those posting that it wasn't traditional or that it was expensive - it's true it's not traditional but we're you not able to read the menu beforehand? It wasn't really expensive either and the service was awesome! No pressure just there to ensure I had a good time.

Hands down the best pasta I had throughout my trip in Europe. My family and I ate here two nights since it was so good!

    Veggie/bacon carbonara and gnocchi

K, i dont know what problem these other people have, but this place is great. Have been here multiple times when in rome. The carbonara is delicious. People who complain that its too expensive...how about look at the prices before you go if thats an issue. Maybe youd be better served in one of the terrible tourist trap restaurants near trevi fountain. Go have a burger or a kebab. Its sounds like thats what you need. The restaurant is always filled with locals which is a good sign. I have loved everything ive ever tried here. The staff also seem to care about their job. Today is xmas and id imagine theyd rather be at home with their families. But you know what? They were wonderful to us americans that dont speak a word of italian other than grazie like brad pitt in inglorious bastards. We had pumpkin soup, mozzarella, multiple types of carbonara, gnocchi, desserts, wine. Delicious. Back in california the amount of food we ate wouldve easily cost double. We will come again every time were in rome.

1/2 Avocado, 1 egg and cheese $10E - Don't do it. The most expensive "meal" I have had in 3 days in this neighborhood.

Tonight, I stumbled upon what turned out to be our favorite meal in Rome so far…read more Just a 5 minute walk from our hotel, tucked down a narrow cobblestone lane draped in ivory blooms and fragrant jasmine, we found Ristorante Babette. The kind of place you don't discover from a giant sign or a tourist brochure. The kind of place you find by wandering, exploring, and getting a little curious. Before dinner even started, they surprised us with a complimentary bowl of their seasonal Gabacho soup. Light, refreshing, and bursting with fresh flavor, it was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect way to begin the evening. Then came the seafood soup. I was torn between several options, and I am so glad I followed my instincts. It was one of the top 3 soups I've ever had in my life. Tender shrimp, succulent fish, sweet shellfish, and a silky coconut broth that somehow felt both comforting and elegant at the same time. Every spoonful made me slow down and savor the moment. For our mains, I ordered the Duck and Annabelle chose the Sirloin. Both were beautifully prepared, perfectly seasoned, and paired with potatoes that were cooked exactly the way potatoes should be. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. I also ordered a side of potato leek gratin that absolutely stole the show. My daughter's steak arrived a little more rare than she prefers, and the staff graciously took it back and brought it out again cooked perfectly. Service like that says a lot about a restaurant. The setting felt magical. Soft lighting, a quiet garden atmosphere, cozy tables, and the kind of relaxed elegance that makes you want to linger over one more glass of wine and another basket of bread. As a chef, foodie, and culinary travel advisor, these are the experiences I search for. Not just restaurants, but places with soul. Places where the food tells a story and the atmosphere makes you feel like you've discovered something special. These hidden gems are exactly the kinds of experiences I love helping travelers find at EatSipTravel.com Rome, you keep surprising me.

Although portions are on the smaller side, it makes the experience extra special because every bite is intentional. I'll be back!
