EGGS BENEDICT WITH A EUROPEAN TWIST. Do you like farm fresh eggs with an orange yoke? Do you like fresh hollandaise sauce? Do you like a cute atmosphere with outdoor seating on the canal? Then you will love Eggs Beneddicted!
They serve a large variety of all manner of eggs Benedict. My wife and I ordered an Eggs Florentine and the namesake eggs Beneddicted respectively.
Unlike the American counterparts, these dishes are served in bowels. And it's a good thing because they can be quite messy with perfectly poached eggs and ample hollandaise sauce.
Instead of ham, mine came with prosciutto. Which, added a little more salt in the taste. Instead of English muffins, both came with a thick soft bread that was tasty and great to sop up the delicious dripping. My wife said hers was delicious and mine was also delectable.
The place is super cute as you can see in the pictures. The kitchen is open and in the back. The bar serves espresso and hard liquor and beer. There is no drip coffee here but hey, that's why they invented Americano.
Service is good, but Americans need to be a little more patient than we are used to in the states. The Europeans will not bother you for the check and there is no incentive to "turn tables" as they do in the states. Also. Tipping is not normal here, but the locals will take advantage of American ignorance of this fact. If you DO want to tip, 10% is considered exceptional, Rounding up is more common and most places will not prompt you to "add something" and will just process your card.
The place was not crowded, and this was surprising as the food was exceptional. The place is located right on one of the canals. If it's not too cold, you can sit outside and watch the boats go by.
I cannot give a stronger recommendation for this great spot. Get there before everyone reads this and the place gets crowded.
