The waffle texture was standard. The upkeep of the establishment not good. Open kitchen area behind the counter a disaster. Questionable ~ some items should be kept refrigerated, who knows when the equipment was cleaned last, Customer area so dirty and run down. Service was bland faced yet expecting a tip.

It's been a while since I last had egg waffles. I've been craving them recently. I was excited to try this spot when I saw it was near where I'm staying. Upon entry, I saw the staff was very busy, making four waffles at a time while also managing the cash register. I got the Portuguese egg tart flavor and waited about 5 minutes. It's definitely a popular spot, as people were constantly coming and going while I waited. I really enjoyed the egg waffles. They felt nostalgic, like the ones I had in Hong Kong. I just wish they had been cooked a bit longer for more crispness as the custard in the center could use more texture to balance it out. I'm glad I shared it with my partner as it might have been a bit too heavy to finish on my own.

I love a bubble waffle, and the staff here was really really friendly. We got the black sesame waffle to share and the black sesame mixed with their kind of sweet batter helped balance out the sweetness and it was delicious and chewy and also perfectly crispy. This is a very small storefront on a very busy street in downtown among the very bougie shops. They have all sorts of other flavors, but I only tried the back sesame but honestly, I will think about this waffle a lot. It was pretty busy when I went, but they are able to make things very quickly and the staff again was just so friendly at this location.

On Robson. First experience eating bubble waffles. I figured it's exactly what I'd expect so no need to try. Glad I did. They were so soft and yummy. Smells so good when we pass by the shop. We tried the egg tart and tiramisu. Both good but the egg tart is actually like everyone says, very tasty. Friendly employees.

I have been meaning to go to Eggette House to try their waffles and I had no idea that they operated a location in Robson! (I only knew about the Richmond location). Once you step in to the store, the smell of waffles instantly hits you. It was quite busy when I visited but the wait was not too bad. The work station does seem chaotic as there was batter everywhere, timers going off, constant flipping (it reminded me of a night market stall)! I got the Portuguese egg tart flavor and the custard inside was nice and gooey. It's definitely a big dessert so I'd recommend sharing with a friend.

We stumbled upon Eggette House on Robson while walking by and were drawn in by the adorable chickie logo and wow, what a lucky find! It ended up being the best thing we ate in Vancouver. We decided to share the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle, and it was incredibly satisfying. It was warm, crispy on the outside, chewy inside, and each bubble was filled with rich, gooey custard. Absolute perfection! Honestly, it even topped any bubble waffle I've had in Hong Kong. To pair, we got the rose-flavored sparkling tea, which was super refreshing and balanced the sweetness perfectly. Before leaving Vancouver, we also tried their Richmond location, but the texture and freshness just didn't compare--so the Robson spot is definitely our favorite!

I passed by this place many times but never entered to tried it. It's located on Robson Street with easy access. The place is open until 10 pm giving you a good opportunity to grab a late night snack or a great dessert after dinner with friends or by yourself. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and make the waffle in front of you. I usually purchase the original egg waffle but I finally decided to try one of the variations of egg waffle (mochi black sesame) after seeing it's advertisement on social media. The waffle was delicious and they make it in font of you so it can be served at its warmest and freshest. I will potentially try the "durian cheese" next time.

Stopped by to try their sesame mochi egg waffle ($8.99). Service is quick and efficient. Egg waffle came out nice and hot. My only critique is the the tang yuan mochi part could be softer and there could more sesame filling. Still tasty!

Friday evening. 8pm dessert. Two bubble waffles. One original and a cheese waffle. Pros: - light and crispy waffles with soft filling in each egg/bubble - lots of menu options from $7 to $9, depending on the filling - service is prompt and food is ready in a matter of minutes Notes: - standing tables only with no seats - store size is smaller, not really meant for dining in (ie. Grab and go)

Awesome new egg waffle place on Robson. Really good prices and great quality. We ordered the salted egg yolk with pork floss, Portuguese egg tart, seaweed with corn, and chestnut. All of them were great, except the chestnut was meh and couldn't really taste it. Very crispy. The flavour of the Portuguese egg tart in particular was really good - creamy as it should be, just my favorite when warm. The salted egg yolk not as strong but still good flavour. Would definitely come back. It's a cut above the regular egg waffle places.

Freshly made bubble waffles, tasted great. No seating area inside, jutst 2 tall tables. Service was ok.

Deciding between the chestnut and sesame eggette and they explained the chestcut has real small chestcut pieces and might be slightly sweeter than the sesame eggette given the natural sweetness from the chestnut. We ordered the chestcut eggette and happy with our order. The store smells very eggy and the making process and quite soothing. They use Dyson dryer to cool the eggette faster and to increase the crispiness . An enjoyable experience.

First time trying a bubble waffle. Lots of interesting flavours on the menu. I chose the back sesame one, it was good but a bit too heavy and thick. It is a lot of food so quite good value for money if you are hungry. I also ordered a rose lychee sparling drink. I loved flavour, would order it again.

The best place for egg breaded custard!

Comes with a bowl of soup instant noodles. The pork chop was same as the one above. The chicken was a whole chicken thigh. Chicken was good. flavourful and well cooked. Soup noodles were fine but got soggy as they always do over time. Side of scrambled eggs with toast - eggs were good. Nice soft cook on it. Came with the noodle bowl as a combo. 2 drinks. All that for $31 all-in and we couldnt finish it between 2 people. Food is a solid 4/5. Service is as you'd expect for a food court stall. People were friendly enough but theyre super busy so they move you along. This is in the President Plaza food court so its definitely dated but totally fine for a simple budget meal. Value of this place is easy 5/5. Would recommend if you're in the area and want some affordable HK cafe food.

But once you enter, you are instantly think you're in a different place. The place is quite cute and gave me small hints of nostalgia, as there was some artwork that reminds me of my grandparents generation. They had a small display area selling various local HK-culture related books, jewelry and stationary. As my kids took a table, my wife and I approached the counter, and were welcomed with a big smile. His first question? "Do you prefer I speak in English or Cantonese?" In all my life, I've never been asked that question when visiting a cafe or restaurant. It's a testament to their dedication to customer service and making visitors feel right at home. In addition to what found on their menu, he added they just introduce rice bowls for lunch. So we decided to try the following: - Ginger Scallion Fried Chicken Wings: Very good. Chicken with ginger scallion, is pretty common. But fried chicken wings with freshly prepared ginger scallion is next level. I really enjoyed this. - Mochi Brownie: Good. Tasted like "Lao Mai Chi" (糯米滋) - with chocolate. - Maple HK Milk Tea Latte: Good. A successful take on milk tea in a latte form. - Rice Bowls: Very good. They had two bowls - chicken and vegetarian - both equally good. Carefully prepared. The use of crispy scallions makes it so much better. Service was incredible. From taking our order, carefully bringing out eating utensils and folding them into napkins, delivering our food, and checking up on us - this is full restaurant level service in a cafe setting. I really enjoyed our visit. I would rate this place a 4.5 if I could give half stars. The space is nice, the food is very good, but the its service and family atmosphere that really sets this place apart. I hope to visit again soon.

When I found out they had a location in Empire Centre, we headed there just after they opened at 9:00... and no line?!? We ordered their famous scrambled eggs with fish cutlet and toast, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The eggs were incredibly soft and creamy which was reminiscent of omurice. The fish cutlet was perfectly fried (crispy on the outside and flaky inside) which paired beautifully with the savoury onion sauce. We also had the pineapple bun with satay beef, which was another winner. The sweet, fluffy bun and rich, savoury satay filling were a perfect combination. Salty and sweet! Of course, no Hong Kong café experience is complete without Hong Kong milk tea, and Cha Don's version was excellent... smooth, rich, and exactly what you'd hope for. We decided to give it a try one weekday afternoon. The seating is quite tight. For a party of two, we were seated along the wall with a small table and chairs facing each other, while the other side has a few cubicles more suitable for groups of four. The menu is extensive--perhaps even overwhelming--with many choices, so I would suggest looking at their menu online beforehand. We ordered from the afternoon tea menu: baked pork chop on rice and beef on rice noodles. Hong Kong-style coffee or tea was included, and each dish was around $16. The portions were generous, and both dishes were tasty. From a food and value perspective, we were satisfied. Unfortunately, our final experience at the cashier left us disappointed. The bill came to $32 before tax ($33.81 after tax). I paid $35 cash and told the cashier to keep the change. Instead of simply accepting it, she told me that the restaurant expected a minimum 10% gratuity. I found this uncomfortable and unprofessional. I understand tipping is customary in Vancouver, and I normally tip according to the service provided, but customers should not feel pressured or told that a minimum tip is required unless it is clearly posted as a restaurant policy. The service itself was perfectly adequate, but nothing beyond the usual ordering and serving of food. There was no extra attention or special effort that would justify being approached about a minimum gratuity after payment. Also, since the restaurant accepts cash only, it would be helpful to have a clear "Cash Only" notice displayed at the entrance so customers are aware before dining. To be clear, this review is not about the food quality or pricing. The food was good, and the value was actually one of the restaurant's strengths. My disappointment comes entirely from the way the gratuity issue was handled at the cashier. A good dining experience should include not only good food, but also a professional and respectful final interaction with customers.
