AMAZING! Let's start with this, greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. All staff we interacted with on this sunny Saturday was very nice and welcoming. There is GREAT ambiance and seating options at this cafe. Caramel Macchiato for the win!!! It was so good I was using my spoon for the yummy sides. I had to tell the barista this was in the top 2 that I've ever had and this is my go to drink. The Barrington Benedict with fruit was sooo good. The egg was perfectly poached and the rest was perfect temperature and bite. The season fruit bowl was tasty. My date enjoyed one of the skillets which was a massive amount of good food with leftovers. Thank you Egg Harbor Cafe in Wilmette this has been THE BEST ONE YET!!!

I came with my children during winter break. Parking was easy to find on Central but the entrance is on Green Bay. We were seated right away and our waitress checked in on us often. I had a cup of coffee with the San Antonio skillet. I enjoyed the skillet very much and ended up taking half of it home. I ordered a kid's breakfast for one of my children and I'm surprised it didn't come with any toast or side. It was only a plate of bacon, eggs, and a fruit skewer for $6.99. I ended up giving her the English muffin that came with my meal. My other daughter had a bagel and side of potatoes. The potatoes are very good!

It was my first time coming here and they have such an extensive menu. I got the brown sugar latte, kind of a dupe to Starbucks, but honestly wayyyy better! I wish starbs had as good a brown sugar latte as this place! I ordered the create your own skillet which was good! There are other menu items I want to try too.

We went to Egg Harbor Cafe for Sunday brunch with my family. My son had a hot chocolate and mac 'n' cheese with potatoes, my partner had the eggs Benedict with salmon and loaded potatoes, and I tried the chorizo chilaquiles. The drinks were good -- my partner loved his latte and my son enjoyed his hot chocolate. As for the food, it was... okay. For the price, my chilaquiles were smaller than expected and definitely didn't match the photo advertised. The consistency was off -- one side of the tortilla chips was soaked in green sauce while the other side was completely dry. The chorizo was mixed into the salsa rather than nicely layered under the eggs, which made the presentation a bit sloppy. My partner's eggs Benedict and potatoes were fine, but overall, the dishes felt pretty basic. It's not a bad spot for brunch, but I expected more for the price and presentation. read more

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. Very nice new modern place on Greenbay. There are several locations for this restaurant. Service was fairly good. The servers are pretty busy on Sundays. Once we could order, we got our food fairly quickly. Pancakes were good. I'm not a huge fan of whole grain pancakes, but these were tasty. Loved their thick MB specialty bacon. Eggs were fine. I wish that the pancakes were a little less "healthy". read more

Came in for brunch on a Saturday with my family. The restaurant was much larger than I expected, and was cutely decorated. My dad got the iced brown sugar latte and it was so good, I had to order my own. For food, I ordered a build your own skillet with over easy eggs, bacon, red peppers, jack cheese, salsa, and sour cream. This came served over potatoes and with a side of an English muffin. I will say that my meal itself was good and flavorful, but I feel like the peppers could have been cooked more for a softer texture - but that's a personal preference. They have a house seasoning that it absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend sprinkling some over your meal. Unfortunately we seemed to be forgotten about towards the end of our meal and sat waiting for quite a while to get our waitress's attention to get the check while she folded silverware and chatted with coworkers at the table next to us. We did have to stand up and ask her for the check after waiting for nearly 20 minutes, but that wouldn't deter me from returning. read more

Beautiful new restaurant. Amazing space. Bright and light. But let's get to the food. Delicious and fresh and so many options for vegetarians !!! Went with a party of six and everyone was so happy with their food! They also have a bar with so many different drinks, hot and cold! Very kid friendly! We will be back soon, probably next weekend!!! Been going to the Lake Forest location for 20 years & still love it. Also been to several others. Food and service is consistently great at all locations. My first visit to Wilmette spot was less than a week after it opened. One could expect some glitches but there were NONE. Like the others it's a well-oiled machine that hums right along. There's one difference worth noting. The potatoes were always kind of sub-par, but I noticed at Wilmette they were GREAT. I mentioned it to the server and was informed that they were testing a new way of frying them and they're SOOO much better. Hoping it transfers to the other locations. The house seasoning is no longer in a grinder & I prefer that it was. The syrup is now in a bottle with a clumsy cap & not warm. Would prefer the old delivery method. We've been 5 times in 2 weeks. Tierra was our server the first time & we've requested her on each subsequent visit. She's simply delightful and makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable read more

The menu is a bit bizarre. There are extra odd ingredients added to the breakfast items. Also prices are high. All beverages that aren't coffee recipes but just coffee or soda are all $4. Most items on the menu require you to add extra sides or ingredients to get what you want. I had banana French toast. It was beyond sweet. We tried Egg Habor one morning and we have now decided that this Wilmette location is our favorite restaurant. We have tried many dishes, and they have all been great, we have not ever been disappointed and we visit often. Joseph (Joey), the General Manager, and Jessie, the assistant manager, are exceptional. I bought a half loaf of sourdough bread and a half loaf of the hearty wheat bread. My husband wondered how we were going to be able to eat all that bread but we did. I also bought a package of 4 English muffins. I didn't care for them as much. They didn't have any holes so they couldn't toast crispy. The prices aren't your ordinary Whole Food prices but higher. That being said you get what you pay for. I'll come back to try their scones. Plus I learned that you can call in or fill out a form to place a future order so that eliminates any lines.

Big inside with a bar in the middle and tables all around. It's got plenty of room for large groups. There's also a pretty big patio. Gets crowded. Thankfully we were able to get seats at the bar and it was pretty fast to be honest. It's about $15 for a cocktail. Too expensive but good though. I got the Valley Lodge Signature, which is their main one of course. This is made with Chambord and Ketel One Citroen, along with cranberry, lime, and sour mix. It's about $17 for a burger. These are also too expensive but at least these come with a side. Each of us got the Classic Burger with a Beyond Burger patty. These have the basic toppings like lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Has a lot of classic items but it's pretty expensive. It's located on Central Avenue among other restaurants and the theater. There's mostly meaty items but has some things for vegetarians.

Last week, I finally gathered the courage to visit. I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised. The place looks beautiful under the new management -- the renovated restroom, the new bar, and most impressively, the fine and authentic Chinese antiques that give the space such character. I've even been receiving calls from some of our old regulars telling me how good the food is. Not as good as mine, of course -- but still very good! Please keep up the great work. I was trying to find a place at least midway between us and discovered Carlos and Carlos on Yelp. Carlos and Carlos is old school from the perspective you actually have to call the restaurant to make a reservation. The space itself is located in what I think is a condo building. The space itself is compact, with tables relatively close together. We ended up sitting at table next to the kitchen door, which for me turned out not to be too bad as we were not sitting on top of other folks. The restaurant and bar were packed as it was a Saturday. Based on the size of the space and number of tables, I would strongly suggest making a reservation if you go there. We started out with fresh bread and one of their specials for the night: flash fried calamari served w/fresh tomatoes, pepperoncini peppers, shaved garlic, black olives, capers & garlic butter. This was a first for me as I have never had calamari served this way and it was great. Definitely a dish I would drive back to get. The bread was wonderful and hot. I could see through the kitchen as fresh bread was being pulled out of either a warmer or oven, not sure. It was served with some sort of olive oil and pesto, I think. It made for a lovely spread on the bread. For dinner I ordered a dish called "Meatballs" and it was just that, a whole lotta meatballs with some spaghetti thrown in as a side...HAHAHA! Not complaining, just staying a fact. The meatballs and pasta were good, but I would say there was a fair amount of garlic in the dish. I had my dish as a leftover and as I was warming it up, The Doctor commented that he could smell the garlic. The Doctor had the Pollo Vesuvio, which also came with pasta. I had a small piece and it was pretty nice. Again there was more meat than pasta, but again we were not complaining. The chicken was nice and tender and had a lovely flavor to it. My GF got the Risotto Al Fungi (Arborio served with wild mushrooms & goat cheese). Prior to sampling her dish, I would have absolutely stated that this was a dish I would not order in a restaurant as I wouldn't have any interest in it. I tried a spoonful of my GF's and was amazed at how good it was! The broth that the risotto was cooked in was chicken and I think beef. That with the goat cheese made this a very nice dish and the second reason I would drive here to do a repeat visit for dinner. Portion sizes were nice as The Doctor and I had plenty to eat and enough for light snack the next day. My GF had no leftovers, she became a member of the clean plate club. For dessert we shared a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, which was really nice. It had a lovely dark flavor to it and was creamy in texture. Service was nice and everyone was friendly. There is plenty of street parking within walking distance as well. While this is a bit of a drive for us to get to since it is outside of the city, I could see coming back here. I think I want to try a serving of that risotto on my own instead of a taste.

The inside has a California coastal vibe mixed with Ralph Lauren like accents. They have an outdoor patio, large bar, and grand main seating area that overlooks the window into the kitchen. We started with a round of drinks off their Cocktail Menu. I got The Amalfi which is their take on a Hugo Spritz with a hint of strawberry. It was light and refreshing! My husband got the Super Hi-5 which was fruity with subtle bourbon flavor. It was a bit sweeter knowing the bourbon was coconut washed as well. I later also tried their Espresso Martini which came with the perfect amount of foam and a "H" in yummy sweet spices. For food, I settled on the Original Egg Sandwich but asked for Truffle Aioli i stead of the mayo. This added the perfect pop of flavor with the fluffy egg and soft brioche bun. This dish also came with breakfast potatoes for weekend brunch. My husband got the Eggs Benedict which was creamy, balanced in flavor, and fresh tasting. The portions were good sizes and quality of ingredients was there. Not only were our drinks and food amazing, but I cannot rave more about our server Carolina. She had such a delightful demeanor and left us feeling like we had a personable experience with her. We later found out she was in training and had no idea! She made great recommendations and answered all our questions without hesitation. We made sure her manager knew how amazing she did with us and even he was so kind. If you are looking for an elevated dining option, this is absolutely one to look at. For recently opening, there were no kinks we experienced. The brunch menu had many options that draw me back to revisit but the dinner menu is also intriguing! Cannot wait to visit again soon!

Every single staff person and I mean every single one were super friendly and definitely authentically so. Now this is what I call great customer service training! Staff smiled, helped each other out and greeted every guest and were all helpful. Cecilia at the bar was very friendly enthusiastic and made everyone feel welcome. Food wise we got the prime rib dip and the crunchy rice tuna rolls and both were super delicious! I had aperol spritz and a pinot noir and my partner had a mocktail which he said was refreshing and worth ordering again. What can I say--go!
