My husband and I met some friends at Egg Harbor Cafe in Barrington. We were there on a Thursday around noon and there was a good crowd at the restaurant but we were still able to find a table that had plenty of room and where we could hear each other. This was a great chance to talk with our friends and catch up. I ordered the Strawberry Crunch French Toast (Challah Bread French Toast topped with house-made strawberry cream cheese, our gourmet Harbor granola, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and powdered sugar) with a side of pork sausage. The Strawberry Crunch French Toast tasted amazing. The different flavors all complimented each other. It was sweet without being too sweet. I also had the Brown Sugar Vanilla Harborccino to drink. Our server was very friendly. I highly recommend Egg Harbor Café!

Three dark hair in my food and a couple small blond ones on the edge of the plate.

Ok... this is hard, my food was good and my service was excellent! BUT as you can see in the picture, there was a lot of hair in my food, my waitress was horrified and comp'd my food and they apologized.... I think this is a rarity here so I am going to give it four stars because if it weren't for the hair I'd give it five stars...

Had the traditional breakfast and cappuccino, caprice avocado toast which was delicious and well presented. The traditional was two eggs over medium, came a little less than medium, hash browns which was a mountain of potatoes. The bacon was crispy and the service was great, expensive for two, a little over 64 dollars prior to tip. I would not get the hash brown potatoes next time I would get the home potatoes

My first visit to this cafe. It's very cute inside. Service was excellent. I ordered the Farmers Market eggs Benedict and an iced tea. It was just OK, nothing great, and I probably wouldn't go back and spend $26 for my breakfast again.

Great food, service and experience! The Geneva Rosti is wonderful! This is a unique Swiss dish that they present perfectly.

I've never had a bad meal at Egg Harbor. I ordered the Door County Melt that is a fancy chicken salad kind of sandwich. It's my favorite. It comes with potatoes and a sm salad. Others in my party ordered the San Antonio Skillet and the Traditional breakfast with Maple Bourbon bacon. The food is always tasty, fresh and plentiful in size. The atmosphere is cozy and farm themed. It's a casual restaurant for people of all ages. The service was ok. I've had better service in the past. It could have been an "off" day for our server? We still like going to Egg Harbor Cafe as the food is quite excellent. See pics.

Good service and decent food in a casual breakfast place. Parking can be a bit of an issue. The breakfast potatoes were seriously undercooked but that's almost everywhere. At nearly $20/pp with coffee Egg Harbor is a bit pricey for what it is.

Sometimes I love it here and sometimes it's extremely mid. Sundays are hard because it's so busy and those are the days you want to skip going here. I got the garden scrambler and it was decent, but kind of flat. Drinks took forever and so did getting toast. They were busy though and other times when I come the food is great so I will continue to go lol

This restaurant was very good for lunch. The salad was fresh, the English muffin was perfect with melted butter. The iced tea was delicious! I appreciated the to go cup! Restaurant was bright and comfortable. Service was timely.

This particular location has been a common hang out place for my family and friends. The foods have always been good, and the staffs are always friendly and attentive even when they are busy. However, we were quite disappointed today with the food and the service. The restaurant was not overly busy when we were there. Food: Cream of Chicken Wild Rice Soup - it has always been our favorite, especially on a cold Fall day. We were so disappointed when the soups arrived - both cups were luke warm at best! We asked to warm it up, but it didn't come back until we were almost done with the main entrees. The temperature of the soup was warmer, but it was very salty. Other food that we order was ok. It seemed that they have been sitting for a while before serving to us. Service: I was quite surprised by the service today. Aside from the first interaction with the wait staff on taking order and getting the check , we have to call our wait staff about the soups (luke warm) and then follow up to ask if the soups were ready (if not, we were going to cancel then). There was never a check-in in between. So I wasn't sure if it was because we asked to warm up the soup, or something we did. We saw the wait staffs attending the tables around us but never stopped at our table.

Bacon burnt on edges but raw in the center.

We've visited other Egg Harbor restaurants many many times but this was our first time visiting this one. We were very disappointed. The interior of the restaurant was nice and the espresso drinks were nice. We ordered the kickin bacon and requested crispy bacon. My husband was able to eat one slice only. I wouldn't touch it. For me, it was both burnt and raw. See pic. The poached egg on my food was overcooked (yolk was solid, not runny) and they forgot the hollandaise sauce. I requested well done potatoes but they were just cooked normally. Overall the meal was meh. We decided we won't return.

The traditional breakfast. I had to ask the waitress to bring the green onions. IDKY it didn't come with them initially

It's an extra nice touch to make you feel like you're part of their family. Erica our server was a delight! We could tell she was very experienced and comfortable answering questions on the menu. On this visit we decided to try something new. My husband had the Arugula Caesar salad which was presented shaken at the table (see video) followed by the special braised pork chop with bousin mashed potato's and green beans. The pork chop was thick and perfectly cooked and juicy. I had the French onion soup followed by the Deconstructed Lobster Pot pie. The pie was filled with the most delicious sauce, baby carrots, peas, onions and luscious chucks of Lobster dotted with puff pastry shells for crunch on top. We didn't have room for deserted but Erica made sure we had a delightful dollop of fudge mousse with whipped cream and berries so he could make a wish. We decided to take home a serving of sticky toffee pudding / and when we got home we realized they even included the ice cream in a separate container. Always above and beyond! She was friendly and great at recommending dishes. The busboy (we didn't catch his name) was positive and attentive. The staff really make the spot wonderful. It's modern inside, dark paint, and updated decor. However it feels friendly with the trendy atmosphere. The way these dishes look also match the ambiance at the restaurant. We ordered lots of dishes and they mostly looked great! The Salat Roasted Beet Salad is fruity, thanks to the berries and citrus, with a pistachio whip on the bottom of the dish. It's a heavier dish for a salad, but absolutely delicious and fruity. I also had the San Francisco Style Cioppino was good, but I wasn't expecting it to be like a zupa di pesci, while the flavor was good, I was having FOMO of others eating monkfish and the walleye. The Cioppino had a Louisiana flavored sauce. There was a variety of fish which were all cooked and not overdone. It's a massive dish! We finished off with English Sticky Toffee Pudding and Italian Citrus Mascarpone Cake. The cake was amazing! It wasn't too tart and light. The sticky pudding was also delicious and very sweet. It's a very beautiful restaurant, service is great, the plates look amazing and tastes great. It's definitely a spot to try again!

The main…read morereception hall features a large stone window behind the wedding party table, and there is a patio just outside that overlooks the water, which makes for a gorgeous setting. While Wild Onion is clearly a great venue for events, it is also a restaurant and brewery, so I am focusing this review more on the food and dining experience. We ate here for my cousin's wedding rehearsal dinner and were seated in a red carpeted room connected to the main reception hall. Unfortunately, this space felt out of place compared to the rest of the venue. It did not match the elegant vibe of the main hall and was a bit dark and dingy, which was somewhat off-putting at first. Service-wise, our waitress was wonderful. She was sweet, personable, and had a fun, upbeat personality that helped improve the overall experience right at the beginning. For my meal, I ordered the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich ($17). It is a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with honey garlic sauce, pepper jack cheese, bacon, chipotle mayo, and fried jalapenos. The sandwich had a really nice balance of flavors and was easy to eat, but despite the name, it was not spicy at all. I enjoyed it, though I did find the portion a bit small, and it did not fill me up. I chose cheese curds as my side, and those were a highlight. They were crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also, because I am currently pregnant, I had an absolutely delicious mocktail. I sadly don't remember the name of the one I ordered, but I am here to say that it had a good balance of flavors. Overall, Wild Onion has a large menu with a wide variety of options, along with many different side choices, some for an additional charge. There truly is something for everyone. While the rehearsal dinner space itself was not ideal, the food, service, and overall selection still made for a positive experience.

Japchae - Surprisingly good! Super flavorful, the noodles were great and I don't usually like shiitake mushrooms but I didn't hate them in this one! Galbitang - This one was a little disappointing. It was fine, but we've had it in the past and it was consistently tasty. The broth used to be more garlicky (a good thing that kind of made it unique to this restaurant) and the meat used to be high quality and tender. This time the broth was fine, and the meat was pretty grisly and a bit tough. Not great...made us wonder if they changed chefs/hands? Or maybe it was just an off day... One thing: we ordered to go and we wish they hadn't put the cold noodle soup broth right next to the steaming hot galbitang broth...just wasn't very well thought out when packing.
