Took me back to Soviet Union days. 3. The price point. You're located in one of the most ghetto parts of Van Nuys and you don't even provide table service. How can you justify charging this much? After I ordered my food to go I stepped outside to have a cigarette while I wait and left my receipt and one of their menu's on one of the tables. While looking directly at me one of the women took said receipt and menu and trashed it when I came back inside, I came back up to the front counter and asked for them to reprint my receipt. EuroAsia is located in a small corridor off Ventura Blvd. so it can be tricky to find. Head west from the shared parking lot with Rasputin market. (A five star Market!) The menu here is extensive with grilled fish, stewed meats, soups and salads as well as regional specialties like plov and pelmini dumplings. Everything looks good here. Irina helped us here and she was very kind and helpful in helping us decide on a DELICIOUS cheese (Village Cheese). It's truly a fantastic cheese and I wish we got a bigger piece of it. I'd also like to mention Danny, I'm not sure if he is the owner or maybe one of the managers, but he was also very helpful and knowledgeable. The service here was great from everyone we encountered and the place was extremely organized and clean. I think the only downside is that not all the labels have an English translation, so unless you can read Russian, you are left in the dark about what the products are. Some of the salads/hot foods have translations but not all of them. Our total for all our groceries came out to $84.01, which I think was appropriate for the amount of things we purchased and the quality of the products. I need to make it an effort to come here more often and try more items!
