Usually, choices are slim, mostly fast food. Today we were lucky, Eternity Brewking was open until 6 p.m. I dropped the idea of doing yoga and we got our butts to the place since it was 5 p.m. We kike it a lot. Service was excellent, Kylie (?) was fantastic, friendly, funny, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. She was great with all the customers. The space is open, simple, and comfortable promoting a welcoming atmosphere. Few items on the menu, are simple, and tasty. I had grilled cheese with one of the best tomato soups I had in a long time, great combo. Plenty of gooey yummy cheese and toasted crispy bread I washed that down with a flight of very interesting beers. The one that took me by surprise is When Life Gives You Blueberries. Deceiving and sneaky. My nose thought I was going to drink wine and my taste buds were surprised with the tart-sour taste nothing like a beer. My husband had the chili dog and enjoyed it very much. Stop by for a beer and a bite, you will not be disappointed

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.

We ordered the corn beef Reuben and giant nachos. The nachos had the tri-colored chips which for some reason I feel taste better than just the regular tortilla chips. The Reuben sandwich had a generous amount of corn beef and tangy sauerkraut on marbled rye bread. It came with fries, a side of coleslaw, and a pickle. Huge and delicious sandwich for $16. Drinks seemed a little pricy at $9 each for Crown Royal Apple. The reason for 3 stars is the service was not that great. They were busy when we got there so understandably it took a few minutes to get our drink and dinner order in but when there was 4 people left in the place and the bartender ignored us for 15 minutes we decided to go over to where she was at and interrupt her conversation so we could cash out. I understand chatting with your regulars but they lost out on another round of drinks and possibly a round of shots because we didn't get any attention. Other than that we enjoyed our food, drinks and ambience. Hopefully this isn't the norm here because it's a solid dive bar/restaurant in the Canton area.

I really want to love Fraser's…read more I dig dive bars. I'm into local neighborhood spots. I enjoy beer and burgers and deep fried things. While I'm not that into sports, I can appreciate a good sports bar. Perhaps that's the critical piece here. This seems to be a really fun place to watch a Michigan football game on one of the 10,000 TVs. Even a minor game where not much is at stake will have patrons cheering at every moderately good play. But Brandon A. suggested Fraser's has "great burgers, excellent beer selection, great drinks at fantastic prices and great service...as long as you abide by one simple rule: don't be an asshole." That hasn't been my experience. They have adequate burgers, but there are significantly tastier and cheaper burgers available in town. The beer list is fine, but I have yet to find anyplace in Ann Arbor with an actually excellent beer selection. Admittedly I'm spoiled by my favorite small tap room which is several states over, and I miss deeply. However, it did give me an appreciation for what it means for a place to have an excellent beer selection. My Euchre Pils was $7 and served in a plastic cup. Maybe I'm old, but that does not feel like a fantastic price. And the service? On my most recent visit it took a long time for anyone to come by with menus, and an even longer time before anyone returned to take a food order. I tried flagging down a server, but none were making eye contact. It appears the servers work in some kind of zone defense, as every part of our experience seemed to be handled by a different person. It was uncomfortable to the point where we felt unwelcome and considered leaving. But we had already been there so long we were committed to seeing it out. For the record, I'm not an asshole. I still tipped over 25% on the food. I can't say I'm a fan of the 4% fee to use a credit card, or the $.75 charge for a little side of mayo for the fries. All told, it was $50 for two burgers, one beer, and an onion ring up-charge. Not exactly a cheap meal. So far I've braved the burgers, I've sampled the sliders, and sunk my teeth into a sandwich. I've tried the fries and onion rings. Everything was just kinda okay, but nothing has risen to the level of "ooh that's good". What am I missing? I want to love the place. It's close to where I live, which makes it mighty convenient, but unless someone can offer me a compelling reason to give it another try, I'm unlikely to return.

Fraser's is looking pretty this holiday season!

Arriving at the establishment, I felt kind of like a trailer-park girl, `cause I kept walking round the outside, round the outside, trying to find my way in: the front door with the green carpet and leprechaun awning was locked, while other doors were marked private. Eventually I figured out the un-assuming and un-labelled door under the porch at the back was actually the entrance. Inside, I found a half-dozen locals (which is always a good sign at 12:45pm on a random Monday) served by two employees. Catching the eye of one of the staff when he went to take a hit on his vape, I asked if I could grab a table for lunch. "Sit anywhere, bro" was his relaxed response. Tiffany, the waitress and bartender, introduced herself and gave me a menu shortly after I selected a table near the (locked) front door. While the menu had a lot of options, the details were hard to read due to the combination of saloon lighting, small print, and middle-aged eyes. However, easy to read on the menu were the warnings: just one soda refill! Additional charge on to-go orders! Specials to go get an extra extra charge! Eventually I ordered an Almost World Famous 1/2 lb McNasty burger with pepper jack cheese (+50¢ upcharge), onion rings ($1.99 upcharge) and a soda. After ordering, I asked Tiffany where the restroom was located, and went to wash up before my food arrived. The men's room was about as disheveled as one might expect at a bar. Tellingly, the trashcan was 'already' full at 12:55pm. 'Nuff said. All things considered, the food came out pretty quickly. The onion rings were piping hot, the lettuce and onion on the burger were crisp, and the beef patty was as thick as advertised. To her credit, Tiffany checked on me several times, and brought me my one free soda refill (I was sure to remind myself to drink slowly, lest I have to pay the extra drink upcharge). With tax, my bill was just over $15, which felt pretty typical. Since she did a great job, I gave my waitress a 32% tip. PROS: decent food at a decent price, attentive waitress CONS: getting inside was not straightforward, restroom was below average, menu was a minefield of upcharges Overall I found McNasty's Saloon to be Good, and would return.
