Nice country road stopover for us on the road trip to NYC…read more We had lunch here which was a burger and then sharing one of their sundaes for dessert. The burger was tasty and hit the spot, but that sundae gets the Oscar! Wow that was so good, with the brownie, ice cream, whipped cream complete with a cherry on top. Yum! Friendly service even though we were giddy with this little playground of a spot. The beautiful lush lawn, the edge of the corn field, and the cute spot under the tree to eat at the picnic table. There was also shade in the small parking lot so we hung out there too, taking a break and started talking to some local bicyclists. Recommended as a stop worth taking!

Seems every little town here in Upstate NY has something like this, and this is Cato's resident version. They have a full dinner menu on top of a full Perry's ice cream menu. The wife and I moved to Cato late last year and drive by Happy Days every single day and have been meaning to go. We had a little drive in spot like this near our last home that we were a big fan of so we we're hoping we'd have the same luck with Happy Days. A friend of mine and I were hungry while working on a project recently and decided we would hit Happy Days for the first time this past weekend. There's a small little dining area for patrons to sit and there is table service as well, or you can order at the walk up windows where the big ice cream signs are. It's a simple, small building, decorated like similar drive in restaurants of the 50s. We had a seat and took a look at the menu and they have a surprisingly good amount of choices. I chose a buffalo chicken wrap, my buddy chose a cheesesteak and my wife got an order of loaded fries. Our food was brought quickly and was all very good. My wrap was made well, chunks of chicken throughout the entire wrap, sauce nicely with a decent spicy buffalo kick to it. My friend enjoyed his cheesesteak very much, and my wife enjoyed her fries. They have a thicker fry, which I'm not usually a fan of, but they were crispy and seasoned well. All the employees were extremely friendly as well. Now, this isn't mind blowing culinary creations here. These are simple, time tested American style dishes, but Happy Days does them well. My buddy also got a milkshake and my wife got an ice cream cone and they were both happy with them. For 2 meals, a side of loaded fries, 3 drinks, a milkshake and an ice cream cone was just under $40, and you DEFINITELY can't complain about the price! More than fair for everything we got. We'll definitely be regulars here.
