Don't use for replacing dentures. I had to have several, as in way too many visits, to simply replace a set of dentures due to age of those set. No extractions. When finalized set arrived, they did not align properly, and lower set was more loose than my original after having original for over 15 years. Johary himself is rude. His ego and bravado are of that if a narcissist, and he enjoys remarking about other patients, while you wait in him to finally attend to you while in the room. Not recommended as a great experience. So bad, my insurance referred me to another orthodontist, who performed extremely beyond measure. In the attached pictures, you can see the material and craftsmanship of the Dentures given as also the incompetence of providing a correct set. The staff was great but the head dentist seems like he may have a drug problem or something based on his crazy behavior at the single appointment I had. I refuse to ever go back after he yelled at me loud enough and rude enough for the entire building to be staring when I walked out. Keep in mind I've NEVER walked out of a dental appointment and I've had some pretty bad experiences,never bad enough to walk out in tears the way he made me yesterday. That man has some serious problems & I wouldn't recommend him to my enemies. He absolutely shouldn't be in a field where he's supposed to care about people, let alone a field where we're putting our health in his hands. Thursday March 23, 2023 If I could give 0/5 I would. On this day I had two fillings done by Dr. Edwin F Johary. Prior to this procedure, I had dental work done and have been satisfied with His work and professionalism since 2016. Unfortunately this wasn't one of those days. In fact, it was my last time being in that dentistry office. When having my procedure done, Johary would slander other of his coworkers while my mouth was open and numb during my filling work on my teeth He would go on to say facetious and false things about myself in a joking manner to his coworkers that I couldn't deny or argue about until my mouth was done being worked on. Things like "Brent smokes weed, he was homeless and other things I did not like." I explicitly told Johary "if you want to slander your coworkers, that is your business but even if you're joking, please do not talk about me." He became irate and said that I should've spoken up while having my procedure, which is Ludacris. He would judge me for other dental procedures I had prior and would ridiculously say "I'm here later than I need to be, let me work how I want" like I was talking to a TODDLER. I shook his hand because I'm a kind person, and said no harm held but you're VERY unprofessional and let's wrap this up. I don't appreciate what you have said. I left and he continued to be angry, treat me unjustly and never apologized. I would advise anyone seeing Johary or potentially going to see him: DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR BUSINESS. HE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. HE IS A IMMATURE PERSON WHO CANNOT TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! The unfortunate thing is all the other staff or dentists are so pleasant so it's unfortunate that they have to work under such horrible conditions and circumstances with that man-child. That is all. I will no longer go to Joharys practice. He has lost myself as a customer and will continue IF HE DOENST GROW UP AND CHANGE. YOU ARE A DENTIST WHO OWNS YOUR OWN PRACTICE, ACT LIKE ONE! I would recommend and have recommended Dr. Johary to people. He is a very caring dentist. Not just one of those take your money places. I have always had anxiety going to the dentist. But, Dr. Johary and his staff make you feel comfortable. I have had a few teeth extracted and never experienced pain. However, yesterday I got a tooth pulled that I broke and because it was so rotten it kept breaking making it difficult for him to take it out with one pull. When I left the office and went home. I was in excruciating pain. Mind you I have a high tolerance for pain but this was a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone. Thank God for the pain medicine he prescribed. It took away the pain and I was able to sleep. I am still going to recommend him to people who ask if I know a good dentist. read more

I will never go back to this ass hole!! I went for something specific to have done. I repeated the reason I was there several times. However, it was never addressed. When I requested in writing for the reason I was there Dr. Johary actually yelled at me across the reception room and said that " HE WOULDN'T LIE", lie about what??? A few days later I received a call saying that my insurance had approved the work needed and they could take me right in. I explained why I had been there, not for the worked that had been approved. The receptionist apologized and said she look into it and call back that afternoon. I've never received that call. I've called several times and left messages but never got a call back. Dr. Johary only does work that brings quick money. Please read other reviews, they say the same thing. He got what he wanted for my office visit but I will not return. He's nothing but a crook!!! Absolutely love Joyce and Dr. Johary. They have kept my teeth healthy and helped my gum recession remain static. Very attentive to my sensitive teeth, so that cleanings aren't unpleasant. LONG: I had an awful experience at Dr. Johary's office.The initial exam was fine. The mostly-female staff was friendly and attentive. I went back on 5/31/17 for my fillings and an extraction. Because I had a late appt, I paid upfront for the services so I could leave right after. It started off okay. Dr. J was polite enough, telling me to raise my hand if I was in pain, etc. I was given a local anesthetic to numb the pain. At one point there were nearly 6 people in the room, only 2 of whom were actually working on my teeth. That was a bit weird but then it got much worse. When Dr. J was in the middle of my fillings, a young woman whose name I will not post came in. She was an employee and came in to speak to Johary about a gym membership. The following exchange then took place: Young woman: "Dr. Johary, I'm really not comfortable with this." DJ: "Do not piss me off. I'm already in a bad mood, it's been a long day, do not make me mad right now." This certainly got my attention, as the person who was in such a "bad mood" was knee deep in my molars. YW: "...I really just don't want to do this..." DJ: "Well you've got to do something. You look horrible." At this point I thought he was making a tasteless joke. However, it was evident from her humiliated facial expression that she did not find this funny. He continued to berate her in front of me and the other people in the room. "Everyone else in the office is using it. You're walking around here like a chubby-wubby, I mean seriously, you look like garbage." This young woman is NOT overweight at all. Regardless, it doesn't matter. I was horrified at what I was hearing. Then one of the other female dental techs chimed in and said "C'mon. Don't say that." DJ replied, "I'm joking. But someone needs to tell her the truth! I'm trying to help her." Again the dental tech said, "No, that's not okay." At that point I spoke up. I told him what he was saying was completely inappropriate. DJ immediately got defensive. He once again claimed he was joking and then said, "I'm trying to help her. I help people and all they do is complain. We give people free teeth whitening, I bought gym memberships for all my staff, I'm doing a bunch of extra stuff on your teeth that I really don't have to. Your teeth are messed up and I'm trying to fix them but people want to tell me what I can and cannot say." I expressed my distaste and told him he was out of line, and it was not a joke because she did not find it funny. He then said, and I QUOTE: "I paid for her gym membership so that gives me the right to talk to her however I want." I was disgusted. I said "NO, it doesn't." He responded, "Yes it does. Now keep still so I can finish fixing your teeth." The young woman said nothing throughout the ordeal, but her face said a thousand words. A few things here: 1. Again, I paid UPFRONT for the fillings and extractions. I was not advised of any "additional "work he was doing to my teeth. If he hadn't been mid-procedure, I would've left. 2. After I voiced my opinion and called him on his completely unprofessional behavior, all facades of politeness went out the window. He became excessively rough with me, commanding me to "keep still" or "STOP moving" when I adjusted my legs or winced in pain. He no longer asked me to put my hand up if I was uncomfortable. He was irritable and egotistical and I have never been so uncomfortable in a dentist's office in my life. When he finished, the left side of my face was numb and swollen yet I was given no after-care instructions. However, he did insist that I view the before & after pictures so I could see his work. I had to GOOGLE "fillings after-care instructions". I now have extreme sensitivity in two of the teeth he filled, and despite me eating nothing but soup, a fragment of the composite material he used fell off the NEXT day. 3. Due to a miscommunication between the staff staff, my extraction had to be rescheduled. Immediately after my appt, I spoke privately to the dental asst. that spoke up for the girl who was being berated. I expressed my extreme discomfort at the situation. The next day I called Susan at the front desk, cancelled my extraction appointment, and asked for a refund. I read some of the reviews before I went. Most were stellar, but the bad ones were AWFUL. I assumed it was fluke. Now that I have experienced it firsthand, I can tell you that my story fit right in. The female staff are great, however that doesn't make up for the hostile and controlling culture Dr. J has created. I have never witnessed anything like this in a professional setting. He body-shamed and verbally abused an employee in front of a patient, then tried to justify it. He essentially threw a temper tantrum when I disagreed. I will never return to this office, nor will I ever recommend Dr. Johary to anyone else. There are too many professional AND highly-qualified dentists in the area to settle for a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde experience. read more

VERY LONG: Just like a lot of the reviews say, the staff is really nice and I had the pleasure of getting a cleaning from one of the staff there. It was a really nice visit for 80% of it. I walked in and they politely checked me in and I didn't have to wait long for my cleaning. The staff member who did my X-rays and cleaning was very polite and easy to talk to and did my cleaning excellently. When she called in the doctor to do my exam however, that's when things went south. To preface, I had not visited the dentist's for several years due to personal irresponsibility and procrastination and money. However, I took solid care of my teeth, I didn't floss very much but I did a good job of taking care of my teeth. And when the staff member was measuring my gum length that was reflected in what she told me: that I had very little tartar or calculus in my teeth but I was more prone to gum disease because I had "straight pretty teeth." I thought, "ok, that's about the same info I got last time I visited the dentist." She didn't make it out to seem very serious, in fact she handed me a pamphlet with a Waterpik rebate and said "the doctor highly recommends you get one of these corded ones." I didn't think about it to much, I just figured I'd buy a cheap one or start by slowly cleaning with regular floss and work my way from there. Once the doctor stepped in I greeted him and he awkwardly glances at me and gives an unenthusiastic greeting, at the time I'm just thinking he's just concentrating on the info he's reading. Obviously that isn't the case when he mistakes me, a 21 year old male (who looks younger), for being 31 because he flipped some numbers around in his head while reading. He starts the exam by looking at my teeth and very ominously saying, "oh yeah... this is serious, you have periodontal disease, for you to have it so young at 31..." I didn't comment on the age because I thought it was just an accident. I was confused and he said "is this the first you're hearing of this?" and the nurse immediately says "I told him everything, I explained everything to him." I believe she did in fact tell me everything I needed to hear but whatever he told me she left out, most likely it was something untrue or unnecessary. Anyways, she seemed a little panicked when he seems to suggest that I didn't know what he was talking about. He mentions me being 31 is an issue again and makes it seem VERY serious, it's hard to drive home how when he said "you have serious gum disease" how the temperature in the room seemed to drop. A warm visit turned gray immediately. After the second time he calls me 31 the nurse corrects him and says I'm 21. I jokingly say I thought I looked a little too young to look 31 and he said very coldly "no not really." If it was a joke, we weren't laughing at it. In essence, I believe the man was scaring me into purchasing a Waterpik. He was a Waterpik salesmen. The only thing he suggested was to fall into a pattern of using it often and getting my wisdom teeth removed. Another thing I need to drive home is how bizarre it felt speaking with him. It felt like he was talking down to me in a very patronizing way. His manners were very unprofessional, I had never had a dentist speak that way before. It didn't feel like he was concerned, it just felt like he was trying to scare me. He said something like, "I could be like most dentists and tell you nothing and you would end up getting worst. I could just move on and go look at what's new in the stock market or even- (he looks at the nurse)- golf! See what's happening in golf this season." It was so off topic and unnessecary. Once he left I was essentially 100% willing to spend $100 on a corded Waterpik (which is how much they costed, also the rebate they gave was for $5 WOOHOO.) The nurse asked me multiple times afterwards almost sounding nervous or uncertain as I sat there looking like I just got told I have cancer (that's how he made it sound FOR GINGIVITIS) if I had any questions. I rarely do during appointments so I just thanked her genuinely and checked out. I suppose for cleanings this place is fine but try to keep your interactions with the Doctor to a minimum. I hadn't felt that nervous talking to someone since I got pulled over by a police officer for having a missing headlight. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars, not even a 1 star dentist...Came in for an initial consultation and left in tears. Would not recommend this dentist to anyone!!! He is rude and says anything that comes to his mind, no filters or consideration for whom he is speaking to. Bedside manner is non-existent. Many good reviews on here but my experience was horrific.
