I just want to say that these guys are awesome! I had a clunking/rattling noise coming from my front suspension and I went to Meineke off of 38th to check it out. Meineke couldn't figure out the problem and said my suspension was fine. A month later, my ball joint gave out, the control arm collapsed and my CV axle pulled out of the socket. I brought it to Edwards and they fixed it for an extremely fair price. They told me the rattling was from the sway bar links and I had them replace that as well. I was also wary that other people complained that they took awhile to fix your vehicle, however I did not experience that. My car was done within 2 days. All in all, this place is clean, professional, and reliable. I recommend them to anyone. read more

I'm shocked to read so many positive reviews from this place, but not so shocked when I see that they're all from first-time yelpers. Funny how most of the reviews have the same language and punctuation. I brought my Subaru Impreza WRX in for a quote on a non-warranty service, and I knew I was in trouble when he asked me how many cylinders and then tried to tell me my car was front wheel drive ... um hello, Subaru is known for their 4 cylinder boxer engines and ALL their vehicles are all wheel drive! ** UPDATE ** The crew from the 7450 Michigan Rd Edward's T&E called when they heard about the posted reviews in regards to the shop on Keystone and the guy running it. They were the crew in the old Keystone shop previously and they wanted to make the situation right, and they did. They came and towed the Jeep to their new shop, pulled the converter, sent it out for inspection, and then replaced mine with a new TCI torque converter. They made the original shop with the manager/VP of the company/who-knows-what named Mark Wolf cover the cost of the parts, and my original shop covered the labor. They went above and beyond, and the vehicle is actually fixed and fixed correctly. These guys were always up-front and honest. When they left the Keystone shop and the new guys came in is when I got jerked around, lied to, told that my vehicle was the issue, and ultimately swindled. The main issue seems to be the guy running the Keystone shop in particular and should not reflect all of the Edward's shops or their staff. They had it for over two weeks before I called to inquire and they said it'd been done and sitting for two weeks. So I go back in to get it, and the "Vice President" of the company tells me while I'm there that it still has a "bit of moisture" coming off that transmission, and that and they can't figure out how to stop it. I tell him it's fine and to give me the vehicle. In the 2.5 miles to get it home it starts leaking transmission fluid so bad that it's literally throwing it on the exhaust and creating a huge smoke screen. I park it, and call the shop to state my displeasure in being told it was a "bit of moisture" they couldn't stop versus a leak so bad that within 30 seconds of it idling in park that I had a literal puddle of transmission fluid under my car that they were paid to fix. He proceeded to tell me how it's not their lack of knowledge or quality of work but instead it's the transmission I have and I need to buy a new transmission, and they'd continue to "work" with me on it but that there's nothing more he can do for the repair I'd brought it to them for as is. ... I'll be filing a BBB complaint and any other review/media I can find, letting people know this place is a sham. They do poor work, offer little to no warranty, blame the customer, are slow to do any work, forget to call you back repeatedly, and essentially bilk people of their time, money, and vehicles, and then blame the customer for the inability to do the work they are supposed to be the experts on. read more

Edwards charged us $500 for a tow/diagnostics for our broken down car, and took a week to get back to us. We were understanding, figuring they had a lot of cars, COVID, etc. But then, they quoted us for $3800-4200 to repair the transmission/internal electronics, which felt very expensive for a rebuild. I told Edwards we needed to figure out if we wanted/could afford to fix it. They then changed the offer to $2800-3200. They were very persistent, calling me multiple times within minutes and leaving voicemails. We decided to have it towed by a different company, in order to get a second opinion. Edwards then became impatient with my spouse, telling them I had told Edwards I wanted them to fix it, which I definitely hadn't. They lowered the price to ~$2000 (with used parts). We said no, and they finally "prepared" the car to be towed. When the other company arrived, they said instead of putting the transmission back into the vehicle, Edwards put all the parts into a BAG and left that bag in our car. (The other company got back to us within one day of towing it, and offered to fix it for $2500.) TL;DR Do not go to Edwards. Pushy, rude, unprofessional, and overpriced. read more

Got a brand new transmission installed in my 2010 Chevy Impala 06/2018, here it is 07/2019 and the transmission has went out yet again. There was a 1yr or 12,000 mile warranty which serves me no purpose because it reached the 1 yr first, not sure how a brand new transmission goes out within 1 year. Doesn't seem to be the real case ! Please, DO NOT take your car to this shop! Just because they are BBB accredited does not mean they are a good business! They've had 15 complaints since May 2010; 14 of them regarding products and services, 1 of them about the warranties. There will be a 16th complaint soon, as my husband and I plan to file one ourselves. A lot of reviews on other sites will tell you a similar tale, except for the ones the company writes posing as customers (you can tell which ones they are because they all sound the same). They charge a best-quality amount for bare-minimum service. If I could give them negative stars, I would not hesitate to do so. In a year and a half, they have: - Replaced the transmission 3 times, messing up the alignment each time. - Told us to come get the car and left it behind the gate. - Threatened to make us pay for services, even though the car has been under warranty. - Gave our car a flat tire and refused to take ownership of that mistake. - Had our car for a total of about 6 months since we bought it in 2011. - Ordered the wrong part. - Made sexist comments toward me. Took way longer than it should have. They had my car for a couple weeks! The. When it was "fixed" I had to take it back because I could feel the clutch acting up. Our son, who has Asperger's, was hired at the northwest side Edward's a couple of months ago. One of the first things he did was have them tow one of our cars over there to be looked at since we suspected the transmission was bad. He worked there for a couple of weeks before he was let go. He was supposed to have the car towed back to our house, but that didn't happen. In the meantime, we have heard NOTHING from Edward's about needing to have the car moved from their lot. They knew we needed the car fixed but couldn't afford it at the time. On 11/20/17, we received a certified mail slip from Cook's Towing. My husband called them first thing on 11/21/17 and they said the car was towed on 11/11/17 and it was going to cost us $545 to have it released. NO ONE from Edward's ever attempted to notify us that the car was going to be towed. I was just off work for 3 weeks unpaid for knee replacement surgery and we do not have the money to get that car back. And Cook's said it is adding $30 per day as a storage fee. When my husband called Edward's, he spoke with Spencer, the manager, who was an absolute jerk to him and said it wasn't his problem and he didn't have to contact us about anything. This is beyond unacceptable and we are going to have to pursue legal avenues unless Edward's does something to get this resolved immediately. If it was simply a matter of getting the car off their lot, we would have had it towed to our house right away. I can't express how angry we are about this. read more

I agree with the previous reviewers! I will not be returning nor would I recommend anyone else go there. I was in need of help and went to the Michigan Rd location. They kept my car for a week, when it could've been fixed in two days. They insisted on replacing many other things that were unnecessary and generally just took advantage. They didn't call to update me on their progress or let me know that they were keeping my car yet another day and when I would call for some information the guy seemed burdened by having to do his job. Don't go here; terrible customer service, unnecessary repairs, and a general lack of regard for the client. read more

First they were supposed to do a 15 minute inspection. After 4 hours, I called. I couldn't get a hold of a person. I called a second time. Still no luck. Third call-they still hadn't look at it "just give us 30 more minutes & I'll call you back." An hour later my husband calls them on speaker phone. They said they would call us back in five minutes then as they hung up they called my husband a "JACK ASS" which we both heard crystal clear. Then they finally called us back. I told them I would be over to get it since my husband was called jack ass on the last call. Mike responded with "ok". No apology. No questions about a misunderstanding. Nothing. So on my way to get my car I call the regional manager who took my name and number and promised to call me back in 15 minutes because he was currently in a meeting.....I'm still waiting almost 20 hours later! read more

I would not go here if I had a choice, took my car in for some maintained, it took almost a day and a half to get a phone call back for what was wrong, was told I needed new spark plugs that were special to my car, and had to wait and extra day for them to come in, well got called the next day to come get it, worked fine for about 2 weeks until it started running bad, called the same place, to talk a little about the situation, and instantly the man was defensive and not very helpful for what I was trying to ask. Just took it too a different shop because of the conversation we had, only to find out that the spark plugs, I waited an extra day for plugs that were not special to my vehicle, actually they are the plugs they told me wouldn't work. My experience with Edward's transmission was awful. I took my 2004 Mazda6 to them when I needed a new transmission. It took almost 4 weeks for them to complete the repairs. Within 6 months, the transmission they had installed already needed replaced. I took it back to them and was treated with an incredibly poor level of customer service. It took them almost four weeks to install the second transmission, while at the same time causing additional damage to my car. When the second transmission they had installed began to give me trouble, I naively returned to Edward's. Upon returning to their store, I stood in their lobby for 5 minutes while being ignored by two employees who were standing behind the counter. The two employees did not acknowledge me. I walked out the door, never to return. There are many other issues that I encountered with Edward's Transmission that I did not list here. I would not recommend Edward's Transmission to anyone. read more

I took my girlfriends car to the Michigan Road location to have the free test ran on her car ended up paying 105.00. Only to be gave the wrong information about what was wrong with the car. They charged us over $2,900 to rebuild our transmission. They didn't rebuild ours, instead they installed parts from a local junk yard without informing us. The junk yard's name was written all over the transmission and torque converter. To make matters worse the transmission was defective and was actually worse than our original one. When we called them about the transmission they said it wasn't the transmission but that they didn't fix something else that was causing the problems we were describing. They wanted us to come back in and for $600 more they would repair it. We declined to let them touch the car again. When we disputed the charges, Edward's representative threatened us with legal action. We asked repeating for packing lists and invoices for the parts they said they put in and they never produced a single one.
