I missed the small "No Trespassing" sign, and the gate was wide open. While I understand I should have noticed the sign, I was also a paying customer and had no intention of doing anything inappropriate. Instead of being approached with understanding, I was met with intense hostility, sarcasm, and even a threat that a gun could be pulled out. That was incredibly alarming and completely unnecessary. I apologized multiple times and explained that I had simply missed the sign, but there was no grace or professionalism shown throughout the interaction. Everyone has bad days, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will never return to this shop.

There was no urgency on their part as they spent weeks working on my car to do about $800 of work. Then, all of a sudden, they called one morning out of the blue and woke me when I wasn't feeling well by arguing with my boyfriend. Southern Auto said that if I didn't pick up the car and pay that day, they were going to lock my car up in storage and charge me a daily fee. I've never encountered this type of aggressive behavior from someone servicing my vehicle. When I picked up the car, the part that props up the hood was suddenly missing/broken. Also, the lip of the top half of the timing belt cover was exposed. When we asked them to properly fit it, a mechanic went at it with a crowbar, which is not good. They also didn't do the oil change we asked for. We complained about our missing/broken part, and went to the Honda dealer to buy the part on our own dime. After much arguing, they agreed to install the part. I figured that I'd pick up the car the next day since it was getting to be late in the evening at this point. Despite the late hour, the shop insisted that I still pick up the car that night or, you guessed it...storage fees. It's threats, threats, threats with this place. I can't see very well late at night, and I was so upset by how rude and unprofessional everyone was that I ended up having an accident on my way home. This shop was so mean and rude to my entire family. They got us all worked up to the point that we were arguing with them and each other. The mechanic had the nerve to tell us that "he'd never work on another one of our vehicles." He's right about that!

My Original problem... brakes not working went in for brake work, I did approve and oil change, and water pump fix, they replaced my drive belt and AC belt without approval (not a deal breaker) FYI... I do not see many antifreeze coolants priced at 30.00 per gallon, needed two for 60 bucks, seems a bit pricey charged me an hour labor for coolant service at 110.00/hr My vehicle was there for a week, while there it was completely cleaned out, tool bag, hitch keys, hitch plugs, led emergency flashlight, fuse pack, msc items of personal value, visor caddy, pens etc.., state park pass, Nothing broken, doors or windows, so the repair facility was not concerned about the safety of my vehicle while there, and it was my bad that I did not take personal things out when I dropped it off.. Liability yep, it was my fault but making sure my vehicle was locked should have been their responsibility, maybe just some common sense! SO: If you take your vehicle here make sure YOU take personal items out, make sure you get job info before they do the work, be specific, I see another review where they supposedly did non approved work as well... that could be an ethics problem... Guess my biggest complaint is that Pipes Performance does not care about the security of YOUR/MY vehicle .. for the folks that cleaned out my vehicle you should have had a shop vac and cleaned out the dirt too along with everything else you took.., LESSON LEARNED!!!

The next morning, I got a call from them saying they didn't have the tires I had selected on line at my particular location. So I went into the shop itself and spoke with the guys there. While the tire they wanted to substitute was only $12 more, the entire thing was going to cost me almost $800. I asked what happened to the $488 price I was quoted on line and they started in with the song and dance. Needless to say we left and ended up at Duckworth. As soon as we walked in and asked about tires for my car, William immediately gave me a quote, installed, balanced and all for under $500. When my husband said our other car needed tires as well, William threw in alignments for both cars (value of about $120) free. So we ended up getting new tires for both cars for under $1,000... no fuss, no upcharging, no big sales push to get us into buying other maintenance plans. The best part was that while they were working on my car, I asked them about my tail light - which was out - and the mud-flap that was loose and told them to call me with the cost to replace the bulb and repair the mid-flap. The mudflap they couldn't repair, but they replaced the bulb for free! Now that's service.
