I was bothered when we pulled up, long lines for the drive-through, parking lot at capacity, and inside, long winding lines for the teller windows. But there's this odd inviting community feel walking in, it seemed like everyone in line knew someone else in line, we were the only strangers in here. Most of the customers and all of the staff look African-American, I'm inclined to think that this is a real community bank (it's located in an African-American neighborhood). I've never had a problem with customer service at any Educators Credit Union branch, but this location is much friendlier and more efficient than the others. The tellers ran through the line so quickly, people suddenly at the front of the line had to be prodded to step up to the next available teller. But this efficiency did not subtract from friendliness, I don't think I've ever met nicer bank workers anywhere. Frankly, it was a little weird.

All the employees are always very friendly and willing to help you. On today's visit, I went to the branch to fix a little problem I encountered. I have my mortgage through Waterstone Bank, and I hadn't received my escrow check, to pay my property taxes. First, I called Customer Service. They looked up my account, and told me the check was sent out two weeks ago. It must have gotten lost in the mail or something, because I never got it. The Customer Service Rep told me that I could just go into any branch, and they could issue a stop-pay on the old check and issue a replacement. So that's exactly what I did. Easy as pie! They have a small waiting area, with comfy chairs, arranged around a coffee table, a TV on the wall, that's usually got some news channel on, and a station with fresh, hot coffee. So I sat and waited a few minutes while they got everything in order and issued my new check. They brought it over to me; I had to sign one paper for the stop-pay, and I was sent on my way with a handshake and a 'Thank You'.

Slow call back times, feeling rushed on the phone, etc. If it was just the mediocre service, I could understand that because I'm a small fish. If it was just the high cost, I could understand that because big companies can charge more. But the combo of high cost and mediocre service is what eventually drove me away.

I used it once and avoided the lobby for 5 years. Today there was two security officers and 4 bankers in the lobby with clients, near the back wall there were 3 tellers safely behind glass. The place looks brighter and updated with nice furnishings. The drive through seems to be very busy. This might be closest to home. Since I live 4 miles north . They freed the pens of their chains and the people seem happy here. 1/2019
