All the employees are always very friendly and willing to help you. On today's visit, I went to the branch to fix a little problem I encountered. I have my mortgage through Waterstone Bank, and I hadn't received my escrow check, to pay my property taxes. First, I called Customer Service. They looked up my account, and told me the check was sent out two weeks ago. It must have gotten lost in the mail or something, because I never got it. The Customer Service Rep told me that I could just go into any branch, and they could issue a stop-pay on the old check and issue a replacement. So that's exactly what I did. Easy as pie! They have a small waiting area, with comfy chairs, arranged around a coffee table, a TV on the wall, that's usually got some news channel on, and a station with fresh, hot coffee. So I sat and waited a few minutes while they got everything in order and issued my new check. They brought it over to me; I had to sign one paper for the stop-pay, and I was sent on my way with a handshake and a 'Thank You'.

I recently had an issue where my car was totaled and I had to wait a bit for my insurance check. While waiting for a check, I found a car that I was anxious to buy but had to wait until my check cleared at Chase. After 48 hours, my check was still not cleared. I called Chase and they were so helpful in getting me connected with corporate, they gave me the number and extension to resolve my issue. On more than one occasion I have been in contact with... Eric? Derick? Mark? Sorry, I will edit with his name after my next visit! At any rate, he is wonderful. Very talkative and engaging while he processes my deposits and payments. I appreciate his positive demeanor when doing something tedious like going to the bank.

NOBODY answered the telephone at the Menomonee Falls branch, so I had to go to a branch on Silver Spring Drive and go there to get my username and password added to my account. I'd previously had trouble making an appointment to get a Medalion Stamp affixed to some documents. The (Ir)responsoble Manager never returned my calls or voice mails. I had to go elsewhere to get the stamp applied. Today, I could not sign-into my account to electronically deposit a check. Neither the Menomonee Falls branch, nor the First Citizens "Customer (NO)Service line could help. They could only "Start a Claim", which could take 48 hours for somebody to call me and POSSIBLY work on a solution. I have found my own solution. That will be be finding a new bank! If you have an account, I advise you do the same. If you are looking for a bank, DO NOT use First Citizens Bank!

I also had to tell her which account to deposit to, although the number was on the paper. After the check machine tried to eat my checks and they got stuck a number of times, the total of both checks was deposited. I explained that this was incorrect. The teller canceled the transaction, instead of just giving me the cash as a withdrawal as I asked her to. So now the check machine starts eating my checks again. They are really mangled by this time. Another teller took over and managed to get it right. The tellers were pleasant enough, but this should have not taken as long as it did or been such a big deal. Generally, this a really upsetting visit. I want them to use deposit slips, please. [Also, my husband asked for a check register and they are now much thinner. I realize that no one writes a lot of checks anymore, but there are more electronic transactions to be logged, so the books should be larger, if anything. ]

I gave them a second chance after disappointing me several months ago. I stopped in the other day because I needed a service that only a bank can provide. I made it clear to the teller that I was not currently a customer but was seriously considering becoming one because I was looking for a new bank. The teller was unsure how to complete my requested transaction so he went to confer with a superior. He was gone for quite a spell, and at one point, I considered simply leaving but began to count backwards from 60. He returned at about 25 and said that he was sorry, since I wasn't a customer, the transaction could not be completed. He referred me to Walmart. WALMART!?! For crying out loud, Walmart will cash checks and sell you plastic money (which is no bargain, either) but Walmart is not a bank and cannot do what I was requesting. A bank needs to complete the transaction I need completed, but Associated Bank just wasn't interested in my business. Sorry, Associated Bank, you have failed me twice. I'm still looking for a new bank, but it won't be your bank.
