- Edo Japan has a monthly bento box deal that comes with a fountain drink.
I was at Erin Mills Town Centre and needed to fetch dinner. I saw this Edo Japan that faces Eglinton Avenue West. Perfect!
I had no problem finding a parking spot in front to this eatery. I pulled into an available spot and walked in.
This Edo Japan is located in a block of four businesses, including BarBURRITO, KFC, and a cannabis store. It used to be Paramount Middle Eastern Cuisine.
I walked in and was warmly greeted by a female staffer. I asked her whether there was a bento special for the month, as I remember having it a few months ago. For July, it's the beef and chicken teriyaki. Nice!
I got two bento options:
- Tempura shrimp
- Gyoza
I learned that my bento box deal comes with a fountain drink. Yay!
The woman asked how many scoops of teriyaki sauce I wanted. It was such a good question to ask right off the bat. I said two, which is my norm.
I got my Edo coins QR code scanned. She let me know that I had nearly $6 to spend on anything whenever I felt like it. Perfect!
I was dining in and found a table to sit down. It did take some time for the tempura and gyoza to be made, which was expected.
Eventually, a staffer came over with a paper bag with handles. I let him know that my order was for dining in. He quickly headed back to the kitchen and put everything on a tray from the paper bag. He was wonderful!
I had to ask for a cup for my drink. Same thing. He quickly fetched one for me. Customer service was stellar. He corrected everything quickly.
I filled my cup with Diet Coke and ice. I went back to refill it before I left to head home. It was cold and washed everything down while I dined in.
I loved my meal. The chicken and beef teriyaki were tasty and full of flavour. The veggies and teriyaki sauce were yummy. The steamed rice was perfectly cooked.
I loved the tempura shrimp. They were crispy and plump. The dipping sauce paired nicely with them
The gyoza is always my go-to bento side. They were packed full of flavourful pork filling and pan-fried to perfection. I loved the dipping sauce that came with them.
I used the washroom before I left. There are two gender-neutral single stalls. The one that I used was clean. The other one was wheelchair-accessible, with a button to open the door that was green to indicate that the washroom was vacant.
It was weird seeing a female customer wipe down the table that I was at when I was heading out the door. I frankly ate everyrhing from my tray and didn't leave a mess. I guess she wanted to be sure that it was clean for her liking. I will give this couple full marks for selecting the same table, because it's in a quiet corner of the eatery.
I'm come back here to have more good eats. It's a popular place for folks doing takeout while I was here. One woman had nearly $40 worth of Edo coins, which was mighty impressive.
