The Ambleside location is very handy for us. The staff are friendly and informative. The area is well marked and well looked after.

Sometimes I think the disposal fees are a little steep. For example, $20.00 for 3 wooden furniture items. Definitely an increase over the past 10 years since I've been coming here. It's organized. Staff will help you unload. Even on a busy Saturday when everyone and their clown has a huge load to drop, the staff kept everyone in line so it went smoothly. Today, it took me 30 minutes in and out. Weekdays are much better. They take debit and credit. read more

This is an awesome service provided by the City of Edmonton aka you and I the tax payers. I think it is great that we have a place that we can bring items in to be recycled and divert them from our landfills. I make many trips a year to the Eco Station to dispose of items. Most of the things I need to bring in are free of charge items. For some of the bigger items you may pay a small fee but it is worth it to dispose of your items properly. Shame on those people that dump their items like old mattresses and fridges etc. at places like apartment and condo garbage bins. They might think they are saving themselves a few bucks but in reality the cost to dispose of those items gets turned back on to the owners of those buildings as they have to pay extra to dispose of those items. Large items are $12 each, smaller items are $8 each but many things such as paint and electronics are free. I will take away 1 star from this just for the location. 99th Street is such a major road these days that this location can cause a lot of headaches. It is a tight location so often there is a line-up on the weekend that extends out onto 99th Street. This can be inconvenient and also dangerous. For those of you who don't drive or have access to a vehicle check out your local Community League to see if they are hosting a Big Bin Event. Many do and they are basically bringing the Eco Station to you. Often times it is free as well so you don't have to pay the fees you might have had to at the Eco Station. A few communities as well are also starting to also include a local truck that will come pick up your items and deliver it to the Big Bin Event for you. read more

It's such a great feeling to drop off junk/garbage and think that maybe you're not contributing to the global pile of waste. If you have an item that's junk, be sure to look at the Eco Station website prior to putting it into the garbage -- if it can be recycled, why not take the extra 30 minutes to drop it off? I have gone many times and not had a line-up once, maybe the timing is important? read more

Friendly staff... Efficient and well organized - I think that pretty much sums it up. They take large items like couches and mattresses for a small fee and take smaller items like electronics and batteries and paints for free. They even have a little recycled and for free paint section! read more

Eco Stations are darn important. And our experience dropping off a couch here was seamless. The staff member we interacted with was efficient and polite and we didn't have to wait long to drop off the couch in the appropriate bin. A pet peeve of mine is when folks leave furniture in the alley rather than delivering it to the Eco station or otherwise. If only these places were more accessible to those of us who don't drive! But this location was great when we visited. I guess if it were less costly to drop off furniture folks would dispose of it more properly more often (but really what options do folks who don't drive have other than waiting for a big bin event in their neighborhood?). read more

I don't know what I would do without the eco station. I change all the fluids in my cars and my wife's car, so dumping those safely is one of the main reasons I come here. But they also take so much more. Things I have disposed of safely there: batteries, TVs, scrap wood, old kitchen appliances, computers, old gasoline/oil, scrap metal, paint cans, tires, aerosol cans, misc electronics. Sure you could take most of this stuff to the landfill, but I'd much rather take it to the eco station where I trust it will be disposed of properly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The last time I was there, I had some wood to drop off, but there was a trailer unloading a large load into the scrap wood dumpster, so I couldn't access it. Rather than just having me wait until the trailer was unloaded, a staff member brought his bobcat over and I unloaded my wood into its bucket. It was a thoughtful act by the staff member. I usually go during the week and I am in and out very quickly. But if you go on the weekend in the spring, be prepared to wait. read more

Got some crap and don't know where to throw it? Drive down and dump it here! I love this place in theory, but I find it expensive and a bit slow. I was doing the "good citizen" thing by throwing away an old mattress that was there in the room I moved into. The mattress was pretty ordinary and certainly not worth using. Yet, I had to pay $24 just to dump it! Junk removal really need not be that expensive. I understand that they have a lot of manual labor there, which is expensive. I just can't grasp why it would cost $24 to throw away a crappy mattress. Maybe I'm just a bit of a cheapo :-o Their service is good but there can be annoying hold ups every now and then. I came here three times and one time, I zoomed through and threw away all that I wanted to. The other two times though, I had to wait for 20 minutes or so while they were doing something. I think they were trying to remove one of the full dumpsters and get an empty one in, but it was quite chaotic and there was no one around to assist the cars driving in! It was just a huge pile up! So, come here expecting to wait a bit. I will certainly be back because it's a great shop they've got set up here, but I wish their prices were more reasonable! read more

We like dropping our stuff there we never had a problem but today was different. The other times we have be there they have be great but this group today really sucked. We had our friends help load our stove into our truck for us since the old man had surgery and cant lift heavy stuff right and I'm not allowed doctors orders. He went there today to drop it and was told they will unload it for him but they refused once he showed up. Now he reinjured his stomach and wont be able to work even longer. Why say one thing and another. I'll keep taking my stuff to the Eco station but not the one on the west end of Edmonton again. read more

I love EcoStations. They are an amazing idea and a great resource for all citizens of Edmonton (and Alberta). I love that you can go to one place to drop off just about everything that can't go in the garbage or recycling, including donations for the Reuse Centre. The attendants at the EcoStation are always super helpful and nice. It's so easy to have a bin at home where you can put EcoStation items and then drop them off when you have time. read more

Excellent service to get rid of all the stuff you have cluttering your house. All the recycling is free and disposal comes with a reasonable fee. This location can be particularly busy. I recommend using the ambleside Eco Station as it is usually significantly less busy. read more

I have never had to use the Eco Station and we used for the first time over the weekend by Belveder, and we were greeted by a Lady Named Chantelle who was so friendly and funny! She was so small but was able to help us move our items into the Bins and was so helpful! This place was so clean and easy to find and much closer then the Dump. Thank you Chantelle for your help and we will be sure to look for you again on our next visit! read more

$8 for a 3 gallon fish tank, what? I could've put it in a garbage bag and left it on my curb. Could've saved the gas and my time in line.

really starting to hammer on the fees for bringing in your garbage. terrible.. a few 1/2 full black garbage bags.. $28.00 turned around and left.. terrible soon will charge for throwing out cardboard (no doubt) for these prices they should throw-out the trash while u wait instead you pay and you throw out read more
