She is a nervous girl who generally takes a long time to warm up to men, but she loves the staff there and settles down quickly when they approach her. My pet was calm and comfortable in the newly remodeled, spacious office, sitting up on the upholstered bench with me. Dr Wilson did her exam on the bench next to him and we were able to skip the slipping and sliding on the raised metal table! A little comfort goes a long way. Dr Wilson answered my questions and gave me referrals for pet rescue organization ( to gift supplies from another pet) and to a trainer for some reactive behavior around other dogs. I took my dog in for a limp. Nice people looked at my dog, took pictures, looked at the pictures and charged me $800. The cost was so high I could not afford medication. When I complained it took 4 weeks for the Office Manager to respond. She refused my $200 refund request for outrageous pricing. You be the judge. You bring your pet to me. I look at it, take pictures and look at the pictures then charge you $800 and send you home with a still-limping pet. If you think that is fair and reasonable disregard this and bring your pets to Edmonds-Westgate Vet hospital. read more

I have taken my animals to Edmonds Westgate since I was young with my first dog, and I don't intend to leave. The staff is very friendly and supportive to all my animals, and have guided me through many health challenges with my fur babies in the past. They are under new leadership and so far all of the new doctors have been kind and do a thorough job. I would say it is getting a bit pricier than I had remembered, but in certain situations knowing your animal is ok but paying the price is worth it. read more

Has new ownership. They have mandatory blood testing prior to spay. It wasn't a requirement for my other cat just 3 months ago. Nickel & dime junk fees. If I don't want blood testing prior on a young healthy cat cause it's already expensive to spay, I shouldn't be required. After this spay, I'll seek vet care elsewhere. read more

Our pup was having tummy problems for a week or so but it was Covid times, so we were scared about going anywhere. They are very accommodating to our needs and they are extremely compassionate. The vet techs are amazing! You can tell they really enjoy their jobs. Its ok , but I'm thinking about changing places. There is always a mistake on my bill. They usually over charge me. The often have quoted me one price and changed the price on the bill. Or told me I didn't need to see the Dr. for my pet, but then changed their mind once I got there. Charging me for a Dr visit, instead of a tech visit. Accidentally giving my dog the cat vaccinations. Not completing my dogs teeth cleaning because there wasn't "enough time". So they want me to schedule another appointment to finish the job. So I get to pay for everything twice? Yes, that's correct. I've been going here since I got my puppy in 2014, I love every single Veterinarian I've ever met and they're incredibly professional. Never been disappointed with any treatment received, in fact, I took my cat here after 2 different emergency visits for bladder blockage back to back failures costing nearly 6k. Dr. Zacharia was the only one who prescribed antibiotics along with a longer catheter filtering duration for a fraction of the ER bills roughly $900. The people who are angry about $600-$800 bills without insurance, I work in healthcare, you have no idea how unbelievably good that price is. read more

When I first moved to the Edmonds area with two relatively old dogs, one of my first concerns was establishing care for them. Even after every neighbor and coworker I spoke to told me such wonderful things about Dr Zachariah and his hospital, I was still a bit hesitant, having had some awful experiences with several vets in the past. My first visit, though, completely put my fears to rest, and I'm now happy having found the only veterinary hospital I ever intend to take my dogs to. I have had multiple exams (with both doctors), scheduled regular baths and nail trims, boarded for holidays and trips, and purchase almost all of my pet food from EWVH. Even for the past few months (during COVID) I have never had a negative experience! The reception staff is friendly in person and helpful over the phone. The technicians (especially Grace and Chrissy) are unbelievably kind and accommodating--one of my dogs is especially skittish, but will happily sit in their laps and let them trim his nails! I have had difficult conversations with the doctors about managing one dog's chronic joint inflammation and pain, and the other's severe hip dysplasia, and have always received patient and compassionate guidance. Just a few months after I started taking my dogs to EWVH, I took them on a trip out-of-state where one of them was attacked by another dog and required an emergency hospital visit for stitches. When I called EWVH in a near-panic to ask them to send his vaccine records, the receptionist was so kind, and sent a fax to the emergency vet immediately. Later that day I got a call from Dr. Zachariah, who checked in on us and arranged an appointment for the following week to remove his stitches--without any charge! EWVH, the doctors, and all of the staff have treated me like family for over 5 years. If you are looking for a veterinarian in the area and decide to visit EWVH, I can promise you this: your pets will receive top-notch care at one of the few independently-owned hospitals in the area, and you will be kept updated and supported every step of the way. read more

During this Covid 19 pandemic your clinic has again put your patients their owners and your staff first. I am sure that the changes to closing your front desk reception area and not being able to have owner(s) with their pets during examinations was a decision that was neither made easy or taken lightly. For at the same time of providing the medical treatment necessary for our pets, your clinic of doctors and staff have also always provided care and compassion to us owner(s) at the same time. To put all the necessary new protocols in place to keep the clinic open. Making your staff to feel comfortable enough to come to work every day. This is a very long awaited review that I should have posted back in the Spring of 2017. I had just moved from Seattle to Edmonds, took one of my cats in because the other does not crate well at all. After my cat that I brought in was finished with his yearly shots and exam, I asked about a mobile pet service for my other boy. I was told that one of the vet techs could possibly help out with this or they could find someone who did this type of service. Never heard a word about again. The second time, I bring in my cat, one from last time, he had some issues going on with his third eyelids showing. I was given an eye ointment and sent home. Both times I was in the office, the reception desk was chaotic with the tech looking as though she was not able to handle the commotion going on and the lobby was full of patients as well. I also saw two different vets for each visit. This is so impersonal and neither really knew my pet, even though there was an extensive file that was sent over to them from my last veterinarian for both of my cats. Currently, I am now dealing with an issue that could have been prevented 2 years ago when I initially inquired about mobile services but apparently that clinic is too 'busy' to provide any type of real customer service, just to a select few. Word of advice for this clinic, I do know the same vets are there, it's okay to say that you are not accepting new patients rather than give a half-ass*# service to make a few bucks. P.S. I had also requested that my cats files be transferred to another in town. It took them 2 months just to do it when it was only going down the same street! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. We just had our 13-year-old pug here for surgery that included a large skin tumor, removing nine teeth and opening her nostrils a bit wider so she can breath easier. We weren't sure how our senior dog would fair after this much work, but everything went really well. The incision was big but very professionally done that will look great once her hair grows back. The follow-ups and concern by the staff was fully supportive and free. Dr. Zacharia is calm, patient and a great listener while informing you fully utilizing his experience. When we had a concern as she stopped eating, the vet was quick to find that we could discontinue a medication that was causing it, and she went right back to normal eating. Even when I call the front desk and have questions, they can usually answer a lot of them for me instead of getting the vet to answer each one. And I can't say enough about the prices. Most vets would charge at least a third more for everything and we are so appreciative that we could take care of so many things as well as stay within the estimate that they proposed (we didn't know how many teeth would come out so we knew that would be a variable). They don't pile on the extras that are unnecessary. While there isn't a cure for skin cancer and we know it can come back, we do know we got the best and most thoughtful care while our pup can remain comfortable for the near future. We would trust the vet to tell us if we were going overboard if it was near the end of her life and we are preparing for that. Our experience of the front desk was just fine. They are efficient and supportive through a stressful time and didn't experience any rudeness. Their offices aren't fancy like some of the other places I have gone to, but those places padded their bills and gave inaccurate results. I would rather simple accommodations for the short time we need to be there and excellent service at affordable prices. Thank you everyone there! It was so very much appreciated. read more

We had some x-rays done on our dog 3 weeks ago. Spent over $400 and we have not heard a word back from anyone. We've left 4 messages with still no return call or follow up. We assume everything is ok/nothing urgent but you at least hope for a call backnin regards to a reassurance. Will never use these guys again. read more

Dr. Zacharia and his staff are extremely capable and caring. We have trusted them to care for our pets for years. They work with owners to help them determine the best treatments for their pets and how best to keep their pets healthy, not merely treat them when they are sick or injured. They appreciate that we consider our pets part of our family and they treat them accordingly - gently and with respect. Appointments are easy to obtain and waiting times are minimal to none at all. The staff is rude and incompetent. They scheduled an appointment on the wrong day once. After my cat's surgery, they did not give the cat the required cone collar. The staff slammed the door in my elderly mother's face when she went to pick it up. It's just been an unpleasant experience. The only good thing is the price, plus the senior discount. read more

After having my dog's labs done at this clinic I was told over the phone that I should consider euthanizing him. The phone call was rushed and I wasn't even told what his actual diagnosis or prognosis was other than to seek a consultation elsewhere or consider euthanasia. When I talked to the front desk person about following up with the Dr. to explain such a bewildering statement I was told I could make another appointment and pay another fee to hear about my dog's options. I ended up seeking a second opinion elsewhere (not as a referral from Edmonds Westgate), and although my dog is terminally ill, the second veterinarian assured me that he wasn't in any pain or distress and he still had a good enough quality of life that he wouldn't recommend putting him down at this point in time. He also talked about other options and was honest, kind, and direct. You don't tell someone to kill their beloved pet over the phone without offering any explanation. Actually, you don't deliver that kind of news over the phone at all. Save yourself heartache and don't go to this clinic. read more

I have taken my dogs there for years now. They have new receptionist. A younger. She's been well putting it bluntly a cold rude b@#$% to me over the phone more than once. I've seen her be beyond short to another customer in person. I'd be surprised if she hasn't been told off on the phone and in person. Maybe the snobs are getting to her? doesn't belong in a customer service environment. The other older one is great. The one she replaced was also great. Warm and caring in a professional manner would be how I describe in the past. Not so much anymore. I honestly cannot recommend them anymore. EDIT/UPDATE After it being brought to my attention that she's brand new to this kind of environment I can see where these things could happen. The Doctor took the time to speak with me on the matter. I understand the situation now. I greatly appreciate the fact that he took the time to speak with me. I held no ill will towards him or his business. I don't tolerate people being short or rude with me. He nor any of the other staff have been so towards me. They are a little more expensive than some. But well worth it in my opinion. Would you take your kid to the old Steven's hospital and maybe save a buck? Or the new Swedish Edmonds if that choice was possible. read more

I started bringing my felines to this clinic about a year ago for assorted minor ailments (strange bumps, ingrown nails, constipation, etc). I am thrilled with the service provided by the staff here, and will remain loyal to this clinic even if we don't always live right down the road. I am always able to get prompt appointments, which I appreciate. When something is wrong with my kitties, I want them seen ASAP. I feel the staff understands this and always has a sense of urgency about getting us the care we need. I am also pleased with their communication. When my orange tabby had to be left there for a day, I received frequent phone calls and updates on his condition, as well as updates about cost. They handle my anxious cats very well. We were customers at the great Elliott Bay Animal Hospital for several years but we moved up to Shoreline and needed to get vets for our babies close to where we live. We tried Woodhaven but they weren't taking new clients so we moved on to Westgate. All 3 of our pups were seen yesterday and we love this small vet practice. Everyone was very friendly and all dogs were seen, thoroughly examined, updated on shots and we got 3 orders of 6 months worth of Tryfexus (heart worm and flea protection) for around $500. I'm happy to say we have new Vets. read more

Dr. Zachariah and the whole team at EW Vet are incredible- I mean everyone from the front desk to the techs to the docs. My last two dogs lived to 17 and 18 -- and we had lots to deal with as they got older. I absolutely trust this team to really CARE for my dogs and give me great guidance. My 4 yr old hound recently had an accident, severely dislocated her hip - during a weekend. Even though EW was closed I got a return call which really helped w decisions. A phone consult when I really needed it- no charge. They are amazing! EW is AAHA certified and after about 16 years, I can't over emphasize how thankful I am for the care they provide. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews on this place earlier. We have been going to them for a little over a year now. We have been to the clinic a total of 5 times with our two dogs. The services have been very hit or miss. The most consistent miss has been with the beyond rude and incompetent front desk staff. Most recently I took my dog in for an annual. There was zero consultation on what vaccinations my dog was due for, which I find very frustrating. My dog was prescribed a medication that I requested to be called into the Costco pharmacy to save money. The amount of attitude that I got from the front desk person was so unprofessional, I have decided to find a new vet. They also did not call in the medication to the Costco pharmacy which is beyond frustrating. The feeling I get from this place is they are trying to make as much money off of the patients as possible. This does not instill trust in me that they have my pet's best interest in mind. Dr. Wilson is great! Our last appointment was suppose to be with her as she has a better bedside manner for my nervous older dog. We did not get her and there was no heads up that we would be getting the other vet. We won't be going back and need to find a new vet. read more

This vet is wonderful! My 90lb Shepherd got loose in the parking lot- broke free from harness! I was freaking out cause he wanted to bolt. The staff was quick to help me and brought a neck leash to gain hold of him! The Dr. Was so experienced and caring and I feel good about his visit for exam and shots update. This vet couldn't be better. Doctors Zacheria, Wilson and Harbinson are all magic workers. Dr. Wilson has a way of getting into my cat's (who can be a bit salty at times) heart, and Dr. Z. calms down my anxious dog who hates the vet. The vet techs (particularly Chrissy, Eric, Victoria, Jen, Grace and Jacob) are also super talented and kind. The receptionists are intelligent and sympathetic and have incredible knowledge of pet care. When my dog passed, they sent us a card signed by the whole staff and some forget-me-not seeds which we still have planted in our yard (it's been a few years). Dr. Z. was super supportive through the whole process, and definitely extended our dog's life. The services here are also far less expensive than other vets (but arguably, even better). They don't trump up charges or make up fees, everything is fair and high- quality. There is no place better to take your pets. They will be treated by the staff as though they are their own, and for about 30 percent less than most vets. read more

Dr. Mark and his co-workers are the best. We saw Dr. Mark and few of the other doctors for many years. We no longer go to Edmonds Westgate Hospital (EWVH), but only because we moved away. I can't express how professional and yet how empathetic they are. We had cats and dogs (family all) start their early lives with EWVH with love and joy. Eventually some passed on with love, grief and compassion. Freya, Tyche, Sylvan, Sid, Minnie, Maggie, Sasha, Suki, and Jasper (some past and some present) have all been lovingly cared for by Dr. Mark and I can't express our thanks enough. I have yet to have a good experience here, and I have witnessed terrible service while waiting in the lobby. The worst one was when both my pups were VERY sick with some strain of canine influenza, and literally warned me that they could die. So, sick. And I was extremely concerned and freaking out bc they were both pretty young still and I have never dealt with it before. After I took them in to get tested, the doctor said he would make sure to give me emergency contacts just in case they worsened over the weekend while they were closed. And also that he would call on Monday to check in on their status. Neither of those things happened. I called them to ask about something and to let them know that the vet never called. She checked my info and they had my old phone number so she immediately blames me with a terrible attitude, "well, THAT'S probably why you didn't get a call." Well, then I explained that while it's not my main line, that phone number was still active, and it has a message with my new number on it just in case, so it would have been very easy for him to get ahold of me regardless. Then later she calls back and goes on this long explanation about how they send scans out to someone else, and then when those come back to them, that alerts the vet to call me, regardless of when he said he was going to check in. Um, what? That makes it clear to me they don't have any real concern for their animal patients. Oh, and lo and behold I receive a call from him later that day after I complained. How nice. When I was in the lobby, a couple came in who had just lost their pet. She was crying, completely understandable so. The clerk proceeds to start telling them their cremation options as they're standing at the front desk like they were picking up flea medicine or something. The husband actually had to ask if they could please discuss this in private, to which the clerk looked surprised and callously offered them a room. WOW. read more

My wife and I became familiar with Edmonds Westgate when our dog was diagnosed with Diabetes some time ago. The care, compassion and service of the doctors and office staff at Edmonds Westgate is unmatched...they are professional, caring and thoughtful. We were always able to get in for an appointment within 24-28 hours. As our dog's health declined were left with the impossible decision of putting her down. The love and support the receptionist, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Zachariah showed us and our precious dog was unbelievable. They held our hands through the unbearable times, and supported our decision as challenging as it was. They were patient, reassuring and provided us all the appropriate time needed to get through the procedure. After having previous experiences in over 6-8 other Seattle/North Seattle Vet locations and hospitals, Edmonds Westgate is hands down the highest quality, professional, and thoughtful place to go. read more

This all started when my old vet relocated forcing me to find a new one. I have 2 jack russells and one manx cat, and besides my husband and son they are the loves of my life. Scooter my male dog loves everyone except the vet, so choosing a new vet was a big deal as I had to pick one that could handle him. I guess I've searched the internet, reading reviews over and over about a bazillion times still undecided until he came down with a ear infection forcing me to choose. When we go to the vet he's all social with everyone and everyones pet and still keeps up a good front until he's placed on the exam table and thats when he turns into demon dog from hell, and unless your wearing reinforced leather gloves up to your elbows and a face mask you better stand back! Dr. Zacharia was amazing he's like the dog whisper, he got down on my dogs level with multiple treats and before I new it Scooter had bonded to him like they had beeen friends forever. The doctor took him and told me if Scooter won't let him touch his ear he would be right back in, needless to say they came right back. Said he could see the ear was red and inflammed and suggest one of two things: See if we can clear it up with pills ( putting ointment in his ear is out of the question) and if that doesn't work then a little sedation and we can clean it out. Sounded great! So to different pills (and a bottle of doggie valiumn) for the ear 2 bags of doggie treats and an exam my bill was almost less than 100$ WOW! We both left elated and way way happy. And did I mention they got me in the same day. AMAZING! thats all I have to say. Also 5 stars to his great staff. read more
