A well lit corner to read a book in a charming bookshop.

This is the kind of bookshop that I want to see around for a long, long time. I'm an avid reader, yet my eyesight is pretty bad so I read a lot of e-books because I can blow the font up large enough to see easily. So going into Edmonds Bookshop I was pretty sure I'd end up purchasing a book for my niece who was with me, but not myself. However, if I stack my glasses on top of each other (seriously, lol), I can see small fonts just fine and so read actual books. This bookstore is a gem. A good bookshop is like walking into a multiverse where thousands of different interesting lives are sitting there, waiting for you to dive into them. This bookshop is like that, the selection is excellent and the titles are well chosen. So, I did buy a book for myself and while I may look like a dork from dorkmeisterville in my double glasses while I read, it's a joy to hold an actual book again.

Great little shop! They usually have the book I'm looking for and if they don't, they'll order it for me.

I discovered the Mockingjay series by Suzanne Collins through Mary Kay, and she put me onto "Border Songs" by local auther Jim Lynch, which was a true gem.

It's what every neighborhood needs, really. Ridgecrest Books is located in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline, which isn't huge, but has just what this cozy area needs. Among other businesses, Ridgecrest Books is one of the few businesses on a central street with plenty of street parking. My friends and I visited during the Seattle Independent Bookstore Day, so it was pretty busy in the small bookstore, but was still a welcoming experience. They even had discounted books on racks outside the store, in addition to the collection inside. They don't have the largest book collection here, but it's curated well. I also love that this bookstore is dog friendly! Anytime I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by and check out what's new at this wonderful, neighborhood bookstore.

I stopped by for the grand opening (3/9/24), had a chance to congratulate one of the owners and sign their guest book. They've been working hard restoring the site. Bright, inviting, lovely bookshelves and custom book ends. Filled with various book titles and subjects. And if applicable, nice corner spot for the kiddos! There are also store merch like onesies, Tshirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, cards, and stickers. It was nice to stop by and get an overview of their offerings. It will be nice to be able to place bookorders in my actual city, in addition to my faves in Seattle and Lake Forest Park. There's ample street parking, located at 165th & 5th near Crest Theater, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Nice retail area growing in Ridgecrest!

I think there was weekly that just ended or something else as it was a bunch of younger boys with their parents grabbing boosters and other TCG accessories. The staff members here were patient and conversing with the parents and child which I always appreciate when the kiddos are included. They were also friendly and helpful to not only us but the other customers too. They had quite a bit of different products to browse from TCGs, comics, board games and much more. The prices were fair too! They have a refrigerator with lots of different types of beverages. I also asked if they were dog friendly, which they are as long as they don't make a mess so I brought in our two fur babies who got some pets from the staff. The store is organized well as well as plenty of room to walk around. They had a few long tables and chairs for weeklies or just casual hang outs as there were some players just opening One Piece packs.
