It's always a good meal at Edley's! I've never been to this location before and I think it's my favorite. They were out of burnt ends, but I opted for the pork platter w/ Mac & cheese. I love their BBQ sauce! It's perfect to accompany any of the meats. The Mac & cheese is thick, creamy and so delicious. Hubby ordered the brisket sandwich and devoured it! He got the baked beans and the banana pudding. Btw, the banana pudding is a must! Be sure to save room for it! My daughter ordered the hot chicken sandwich and the Mac & cheese. If you're wanting consistent, delicious barbecue in Middle Tennessee, there are a lot of places I'd recommend but you can never go wrong with Edley's. Edley's is in fact one of my top places to go and there are several locations around the area. I've been to several and they are all the same, in a good way, because it's consistent. What I've gotten here, I've gotten at the Gallatin, 12th South, and Murphy Road locations. I'm also a man of habit, I love love love barbecue ribs, so I go for that (or brisket) every time. I know I have to eat somewhat healthy, so I do always get the green beans and then pair that up with the mac and cheese. For dessert, if I'm feeling it, I get the chess pie because chess pie is one of my favorite pies of all time. The star of the show here is the ribs. Always the ribs. They are St. Louis style, which I prefer more than baby back ribs. It's a perfect balance of sauce, delicious smoky meat, and a thin layer of fat on the bottom of the rib. What you get is sweet, tangy, rich, and savory tastes in every bite. I know this is gross to some, but that nice bit of crunch from the cartilage off the rib is the icing on the cake! The green beans and mac and cheese are great too, but I don't typically rant/rave about sides unless they blow my mind. Last but not least is the chess pie. I love chess pie because it's, a simple pie that can be made with simple ingredients but is rich and sweet. I mean who doesn't love butter, sugar, and eggs? Nashville kind of has an identity crisis when it comes to barbecue. I think we truly have very poor options when it comes to barbecue in general in this city. However Edleys is FAR above the other chain options in my opinion. The interior looks similar to all the there big places. Wood paneling with artwork laden walls and a huge bar area. Let's start off with the ribs. Several other places in town have very lack luster and DRY ribs (yes I know dry rub is a style of ribs but if the meat itself is dry I am not interested). These still do have a little dryness to them, although not as bad as some of the other places in town I have been. I personally also do not believe barbecue sauce should carry the barbecue, the seasoning and smoky flavor is what makes good barbecue good. These are amazing, perfect blend of seasoning, sauce ratio, and the burnt ends near the bone are fabulous. Brisket is another one that is often far too dry in this city. This brisket is juicy, had the perfect fat content ratio, and smoky flavor. Many other chains in the city their brisket can be a mess of just fat, this is nicely balanced. The smoked sausage is also the best I have had of the big chains in the city, perfect snap, great smoky flavor that I always look for, the cheddar inside isn't overpowering and the jalapeño pieces add a nice kick. The grits are FANTASTIC Y'all. Cheddar cheese (I think?) with some form of pepper inside makes for a great balance and they aren't mushy which many grits can be. Mac and cheese is good. Nothing to die for or write home about but again better than some of the other chains in the city. Overall this is the only barbecue place I would recommend to visitors, besides a pit grill on the side of the road somewhere. Amazing food and amazing service! The lady at the counter was so hospitable and helpful. She checked on me a few times during the meal and even offered to refill my drink for me. The meats were quality. I got the brisket and the ribs. Both were nice and tender. I'm usually very picky with meat texture, but they got it right. Even my leftovers were delicious after reheating. We visited Edley's today after having a poor experience at an unrelated barbecue place in Nashville last night. Edley's restored our faith in barbecue in the area! We went overboard and got brisket, pulled pork, ribs, Mac, cornbread, and banana pudding. Everything was amazing!! The brisket is incredible but everything was delicious. This is a great spot for BBQ! I got the pulled pork and french fries and it was all delicious! The food comes out quickly and the staff are so kind. I love all of the seating options, with lots of outdoor seating when it is nice out. We had a large party on Saturday, 9/28/24, at 5:30 pm. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. There was no wait because we got there so early, but it got packed. Fries were not listed on the menu, but they did have them and they were delicious. I got the Brisket Platter ($21). The brisket was great! I got it with the Mac & Cheese (+$1), which was super good and the Bean Salad because I didn't know they had fries. Wouldn't get the Bean Salad again. I also got corn bread and that was good too! The kids meal is such a good deal! The BBQ Sandwich was $4.50 for the sandwich, a side, and a drink! And it was enough for an adult portion! Everyone enjoyed what they got, including their cocktails! Edley's in Sylvan Park is the best vibe. They have a great outdoor space and indoor bar area. You order at the front and the food comes FAST, even though the line can be long sometimes. As far as food goes, I've tried lots on the menu, but you MUST get the fried pickles to start. Any of the meat platters you get here you cannot go wrong with. Many local beers on draft and amazing Bushwackers. Only con is that when busy it can be nearly impossible to find parking in their small lot, but pro tip: park across the street at McCabe Park. read more

I love this Edley's location! It's in such a cute area, and they have plenty of seating indoor and outside! During dinner, you may have to wait in a bit of a line, but it moves very quickly! I recently discovered Edley's has some of the best wings I've ever had!! I've never had white bbq sauce before, and someone recommended I try it out. I decided to get them and I was not disappointed. I think about those wings often. They put just the right amount of sauce, and the actual wings have a lot of meat on them, and they're so juicy with just the right amount of crispiness. I usually get the bean salad to be a little healthy, but then I also get their Mac n cheese because I love their Mac! Terrific lunch at the Edley's on Murphy in Nashville. Aside from great food, the outdoor seating and music were excellent. The staff is super friendly and our meals came quickly. I love Edley's, but I found this location to be a bit lackluster. The food was good, but not nearly as good as I've had at other Edley's locations. The service was fine, but not the attentive and friendly service at other location. And it definitely felt like the place could use a bit of a deep cleaning, and to have the tables wiped down more frequently. In the future I'll skip this location, but I'll definitely visit their other locations regularly. read more

Incredible, even though I'm from California and don't know what "real" southern BBQ tastes like, I was sincerely bowled over by everything I tasted. We had Gouda grits, baked beans, slaw and potato salad. But the meat - the brisket was so tender, as well as came with a great smoke ring. The pork was also so tender, flavorful and just right! Gouda grits -why would anyone want Mac & cheese instead of this? The baked beans were also good, spicy and tender. Potato salad & coleslaw were great - not the traditional but so good. Visiting an staying at a nearby BnB left the family with a few local choices for dinner after a long day, and this did not disappoint. We were able to park close on the street to the east of the restaurant, and all five of us in the party enjoyed our food. The ambiance is western rustic, with appropriately modern amenities where they fit. Service was cafeteria-like for the food, where you place an order and sit and wait with a number on a card and the food is brought to you when it is ready. For hard / alcoholic drinks, one could walk up to the bar and order drinks for at the bar or to be consumed at the regular dining tables. One of us opened a tab and was able to bring drinks for the three in our party that were drinking alcoholic beverages. My group was able to open a tab to cover what we were drinking (beer). We arrived right before sunset and the establishment was somewhat busy, but that did not prevent us from finding a table for five and being seated very quickly. The service was reasonably quick following placing our orders, which was entirely barbeque menu items, not requiring short order cooking aside from a few sides. Food and beverage options, quality, and portion sizes were on par with similar restaurants I've visited around the United States and the pricing was competitive. I would seek this out and go back when I find myself in Nashville again. read more

Really good bbq joint in Nashville! We got the hot pork and brisket burnt ends platters were really smokey and offered generous portions. I definitely recommend the hot pork platter. The meat was so tender and soft, the softest I have ever had! The sauce was also good and completed so well. The burnet ends were a bit too burnt and charcoal-tasting to me, so I wouldn't get that again. The sides were also really on-point. The mac n cheese was peppery and tasty. The banana pudding tasted a bit too sweet and like candy banana to me. But it balanced out the bbq quite well. hot tip: try to get in before noon when the lunch rush comes in. Ib really want to love this place, but it has been a train wreck for me every time. Not the food so much as the experience. I waited until today to rate, hoping i just hit an off night. Food? New smash burger is good. They could cut back on the salt, but the combination of ingredients is nice. Sampler a bit underwhelming, but a decent deal to get a variety of meats. Really enjoyed the fried ribs - getting adds a nice crispyness to the smoked ribs without killing the rub tenderness. No pull left on the ribs, but i am great with fall of the bone. Each time I have come here, I have ended up eating alone after everyone else has finished. Tonight ( see screencap), it was a good 28 minutes after the plates for the rest of the party were set down. Even mentioned to my friends, who have been with me the previous 2 times, "let's see how long this takes". I am week aware I may just have bad luck. I also understand there is a possibility I am ordering more difficult items. But figured a daikt special with simple sides would finally be my win. For takeout, I would say "go for it" and rate 3-4 out of 5. For my experience, I find it hard to go above 2. Perhaps I will order the burger next time? read more
