Very helpful staff who helped me change my reservation time last minute. They also recommended better floats vs the ones we originally went with. Only con- they said it would take 3-4 hours to float and it was only 2

Cute little cabin on the property...I think it's for the staff?

THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Typically, the word teenager is never found in the same sentence with hospitality but someone is raising their kids right. The staff at Edisto River Adventures went above and beyond from the moment we pulled into their parking lot until the moment we pulled out to leave. They were the friendliest staff and truly made us feel like family, visiting for the day. The teenagers running the check-in, made everything super easy and smooth for us. They were friendly and gave us lots of tips, as this was our first time floating the Edisto. We paid $21 per person, they do offer a couple discounts so check to see if you can use those. The prices were more than fair for their excellent service. After we checked in and paid, we boarded a bus and headed for Givhans State Park where we began our journey. The young girl who drove the bus, was very informative and slowed down in several spots to let us see birds roosting, turtles, goats, and she even told some great jokes which our kids loved. Once we arrived to the park, three young guys were already filling our tubs with air. *** They didn't just hand us the tubes and dump us off. They actually walked us down to the river, helped us get settled into the tubes, and pushed us off. They were true gentlemen!!!!! The river flows at a slow pace, similar to that of a hotel lazy river. Our kids enjoyed jumping off their tubes and swimming alongside of us. Life jackets are not needed for confident swimmers. There are several residences along the river. There are also lots of jet skis and boats zooming by but they're respectable of your space. It took us 3-4 hours to make it back to the place you exit but we did stop at a sandbar a little before that spot, to hang out with some friends and let our kids swim. Take lots of waters and snacks, especially if you have kids in tow! Once we arrived back, those same young guys were there to help us get out and unload. We hung around and enjoyed the grounds for a bit. It's very clean and there are lots of games to enjoy...volleyball, corn hole, spike ball, etc. They have port-a-potty's to use, that were very clean and lots of picnic tables to enjoy a picnic. The website said they serve snacks and hot dogs but we did not see this BUT maybe that amenity was unavailable due to Covid. Overall, it was a great day, fun for all ages, and a great price! I will definitely visit again on my next trip to the area! Phone service is spotty all along the river but your GPS will get you there if you plug in the address before losing service. There are dirt roads leading to it but a car can still make the trip. Plenty of parking but it is not a paved lot. Don't forget your sunscreen! *make it a weekend of fun, plan a trip to The Bee City Zoo just a couple miles away! Thanks for the tip guys!

Kicking off this review by making it clear that kayaking was not my idea of a vacation day well…read morespent. Sure, I consider myself somewhat outdoorsy ... I like hiking and biking as much as the next gal ... but I was NOT stoked on kayaking for four hours through potentially alligator-infested waters. But keep reading ... because my experience with Water Dog Paddle Co. totally changed my mind. From the initial booking process to the communication before we actually even got on the water, Ryan was great! He sent us a pin with the exact location we'd be embarking from ... and made sure we had his phone number if we somehow got lost along the way. He also pushed back our planned launch based on the tides, so we would get the best experience possible out on the water. You do have to sign a waiver, but Ryan walks you through all the details once the whole crew has arrived. As I mentioned above, I was scared about coming across a gator ... but Ryan explained he can count on one hand the amount of times he's seen one while on a tour, and reassured us that they don't usually venture out into the salt marshes. Water Dog provides all the gear you need ... life jackets, kayaks and oars ... plus water bottles for your group once you're actually out on the water. Once you're actually in the kayak, Ryan is an amazing tour guide. He's been paddle boarding all over the world, and he told us all about his travels in between pointing out some of the incredible South Carolina wildlife. We even saw two dolphins during the tour, which was an unforgettable addition to an already awesome day. I will say that kayaking is not as easy as everyone says it is. I got stuck in the reeds several times because it's kind of hard to stop once you get started ... but my fiancé pulled me out by my oars and helped get us back on track. Thankfully - I did not fall in the water. That was my number one concern ... and I managed to come away mostly dry. At the end of our kayaking voyage, Ryan gave us each a Water Dog sticker ... and explained the story behind the company's name (no spoilers! You have to book a trip and find out for yourself). He also took several pictures of us while we were kayaking ... and emailed them out to us within one day so we could post the photos if we wanted to! That was a nice touch, considering the last thing you want to be focused on while you're kayaking is pulling out your phone to capture the memory. I would definitely recommend booking a tour with Water Dog Paddle Co. the next time you're on Seabrook or Kiawah Island!

We had a great day on the water this afternoon with Ryan. He is clearly passionate and…read moreknowledgable about the area and the sport. He made it super fun for all ages. We were paddle-boarding through the marshes along pathways that would barely have fit a kayak. He made an effort to point out unusual bird nests and great facts about the area and wildlife. We all really enjoyed our guide's cheerful conversation and relaxed way of engaging the group - and he took lots of fun photos we are eager to see tomorrow! Beautiful way to spend an afternoon in the area.

Was so excited to rent and enjoy some beach! I made reservations online at 2:30 read over…read moreeverything before checking out and was satisfied with what I was purchasing! I went to the store to pick up and decided I wanted to rent an umbrella on top of my 3 chair reservation! Easy! Sign the waiver start walking out the door the kid behind the counter says yeah return this all by 5. I told him my online reservation said 10:55 8hr duration. He said "okay we close at 5" we decided to quickly get to the beach and enjoy the literal 1:30 mins we had with our rentals. I decided to give the store a call to get an understanding why the online said 8 hrs if they closed at 5 and needed everything back by 5. He said oh idk but we close at 5. Seemed to the only sentence he knew. Rushed back to return bc he did state if they were not brought back by 5 then we would be charged. Im upset bc I would have never made a reservation for chairs at 230 and pick up the chairs at 3 if I knew I was on a time crunch( 70 dollars!!!!!! ) i definitely wouldn't have added a umbrella for 30 dollars. When I returned our items I told the worker he should have let us know prior us walking out the door that we had till 5. And that they should fix their website bc it wasn't correct and he said yeah well we close at 5. (Annoying) I told him I was t happy about it and I would leave a review and contact the manager and be said okay that's fine and he said "what do you expect me to do about it" Also the umbrella/tent was awful. It was broken and wouldn't click to hold in place . We didn't even use it. It was a waste of 100 dollars. Don't reserve on the website I guess and go in person ask question. I honestly wouldn't have been so upset about it if the worker gave acknowledgment of the website being wrong or even apologized for it. And should have told us about the time of Return before we decided to add on an umbrella and I prolly wouldn't have been pleased had we gotten our moneys worth with the chairs
