Just popped to see creatorofcocktails from IG and get her to whip up a potion for me. As per usual she crafted a wonderful libation and I was pleased at the flavors invading my pallet. Not sure what she called it but damn it was good. Let's get real anything with Edison's in front of the name is gonna be good. (See Edison's food + drink lab) i will be back to try some of the food.
I ordered the ceviche (Peruvian style) and it was so good. The portion was small and sort of pricey. I still recommend if you're craving a good ceviche. The service was good everyone was nice. We did have to wait a bit for our order.
This was a really tasty fried shrimp basket. The shrimp were huge, and lightly battered. The fries are to die for and even taste good cold. Only complaint was the price, almost 20 bucks for 4 fried shrimp and fries seems a bit much.
Had the shrimp and fries at this spot a few days ago. While everyone was good was a a little disappointed by how pricey it was for a plate with four shrimps, fries and mediocre coleslaw.
I really wanted to like this place but the food was inedible. $34 wasted. We ordered conch fritters and calamari and both were awful. The calamari was drowning in salt. My cousin and I took one bite and all we could taste was salt. Awful. No other flavor. Nothing else. The calamari was soggy and undercooked. How hard is it to make good calamari. Our stomachs hurt after. It was the first bad experience I have had at the wharf. We salvaged the evening by going to bone fish a few hours later. It was delightful.
Seafood based food truck type establishment is one of many restaurants in the Sparkman worth and definitely a high traffic area as it's right next to where the cruise ship trap off. They do offer excellent cocktails, and a selection of seafood. If you're doing a downtown I would recommend checking this area out whether to get coffee, snacks, or a drink to go down the walkway.
Drinks are always good here ! Food normally is delicious ! My first review on this restaurant though . I came here on my lunch break . Ordered the jerk chicken sandwich that comes with fries ! I didn't add the tarter sauce because it is mayo based. My fries were very hot, seems like they were just dropped but my chicken sandwich was cold . I know the sauce they have on it is a bit cold but I don't think that would have made my sandwich as cold as it was . I wasn't in a rush but I didn't want to take it back . I will give them my business again though .
This is our favorite shipping container to visit while at Sparkman Wharf. Chef Jeannie has put together a great team that puts out really great food. A couple of weeks ago before a hockey game we ordered the octopus salad and we loved every bite! My husband enjoyed the refreshing cocktail of the day and I had a delightful glass of still rose!

It was def hot but there were misters provided by the plaza staff. This restaurant is the big orange bldg facing the entrance/parking lot. S E R V I C E The guy taking our order wasn't v friendly but he took our order in a timely manner. We got our order within 20 mins. S E A T I N G There are 3 tables with 2-3 seats each. All covered with umbrellas. On the table it says to please wait for stuff to sanitize but it doesn't look like there are any staff members sanitizing. F O O D Fish + chips sub Octopus salad 15+3: fish was breaded well. Fish was v fresh. Def needed some tartar sauce or smtg. Octopus salad had no seafood in it. Literally a few pieces of cucumber, onion and tomatoes. Bread had burnt marks on it and def tasted burnt. Jerk grilled market fresh fish sandwich 17: it was okay. Fish was grilled well. the sauce was mediocre. Fries were meaty and salty well. T O T A L 37
It's a pretty decent place with some amazing French Fries. The other meal items were pleasant. They also have some drinks there and do a weekly speciality drink. Service is great. Being part of Sparkman Wharf certainly adds to the experience and ambience.
First time here and was the absolute best... the fish was fresh and hot the fries was yummy but that cold slaw oh my Jesus someone stop me pleaseeeeee I wanted so much more of it. The slaw was such an amazing compliment to this wonderful dish. The friendliness service and the great big smiles really did add a huge bonus for me. This was before I sipped on that delicious rum and coke JC made for me. He was such a treat- great personality and very helpful. Will be back for some more!!!
We were near channelside and decided to have dinner from Edison's Swigamajig. For the dinner we ordered Fish Sandwich with French Fries and Piri Piri Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. The service was good and we got our dinner in 15 minutes. The food was freshly made and tasty. The Fish Sandwich was amazing and delicious. French Fries are one of the best we had. It was crispy and delicious. French Fries were the highlight of the food. Piri Piri Grilled Jumbo Shrimp was also tasty and delicious. Loved our food that we ordered.

I enjoyed the food at Swigamajig. Located inside of Sparkman Wharf. It is a bit pricey but so is everything else in this area. There are 3 tables in front of the restaurant. More seating is available towards the back of the Wharf. Fish and Chips- Overall the fish is not flavorful however, they provide you with different sauces that assist with that. The fries are natural cut with sea salt (my favorite). Grilled Octopus Salad- I appreciated the presentation of this dish. I enjoyed the charred grilled taste of the Octopus. It complimented the salad which consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives, and feta cheese. It was simple and refreshing on a warm day. I would order these two dishes again on my next visit to Sparkman Wharf. read more

We were not expecting a food truck type venue with a bar, but we didn't mind at all! I got a pilsner and hubby got a margarita. The service was friendly. We both ordered grilled fish sandwiches that came with fries for $20 each. The sandwich tasted good but was greasy for being a grilled sandwich. The fries were a bit oversalted and some were crispy while others were not. Overall, a bit hit or miss. read more

Their fries are delicious, thick cut potatoes, similar to Five Guys. They use a nice coarse sea salt and the fries are crispy, not too greasy. They offer malt vinegar or an aioli if you ask. Ordered the grilled shrimp on avocado toast from The special menu. Not worth the price in my opinion. Toast was burnt and staff was sort of snooty. Will not order again. Dropped a shrimp on the ground and my dog would not eat it. Have had better experiences in the past here. read more
Easy 5 star. Guys the they used real grouper in their fish sandwiches. Plus they have a huge window where you can watch the cooks grill and make your food literally 2 feet away from you. I got to watch my fish sandwich and fries crafted right before my eyes and handed to me. Top 3 best fish samdwiches I've ever had without a doubt. I need you to come experience it for yourself, get the jerk style. Absolutely marvelous read more

Edison's Swigamajig is located within Channelside's Sparkman's Wharf. I love this concept and that all the bars and restaurants are occupying shipping containers within the park. We had a short wait for our drinks and they were top notch. They have several signature cocktails. I went with the tequila, club soda and strawberry cocktail, not sure what it was called. It was handcrafted, tasted great and looked even better with an orchid placed on the rim. This place is earth friendly too, as the cups were made from recycled material and 100% compostable. I'll be back soon so I can review the food menu. read more

The Jerk Fish sandwich was fresh and delicious! Their fries were hand cut and they give plenty. When I simply asked if they were still serving grouper the head chef amp out and explained what fresh catch they were using. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that $16 is a little steep for a sandwich and fries, but I would definitely pretend to be rich and buy it again for the flavors alone. read more

This is one of the food and drink options at Sparkmans wharf in downtown Tampa. So glad we decided to go with this since there are numerous options for food and drink. Sparkmans as a whole is a great place to come hang out and try different foods. Swigamajig is a "dive bar and fish kitchen" from the people at Edison food and drink lab restaurant in South Tampa. Their seafood menu changes daily with the fresh catch. We came here before a lightning game and had the fish+chips: crispy market fresh fish, handcut fries, bread+butter apple coleslaw, curry tamarind tartar sauce and conch fritters with orange blossom honey mustard. The food was ready in about 12 minutes and absolutely impressed me. It was fresh, made to order. The fish was light and flaky and wasn't overpowered by the breading. The conch fritters were honestly the best I have ever had. Just tasted so fresh, made from scratch. And a hint, their beer is several dollars cheaper than the beer garden and they also have craft cocktails. Definitely recommend. I think I was so hungry I forgot to take photos of the food! read more

This is located at channelside aka sparkman wharf. It's also got a full bar which is pretty cool. However, I was not very impressed. I ordered the fish and chips. It was pretty bland but the unique tarter sauce works. The fries were pretty good but nothing to be super excited to get again. Customer service was, umm lacking. Maybe it was an off day but as soon as I walked up, the guy asked what I wanted but then said I gotta go to the bathroom and left. When he came back, he took the order but it really seemed like he didn't want to be there. Again could have been a bad day and we all have one so not terribly upset. I would like to go back and try the charred octopus salad when I get a chance. Over all it wasn't something I'd be eager to go back to, but I'll give them another chance cause it has potential. read more

Went to Sparksman's Wharf tonight . Ordered the fried calamari and conch fritters. The conch fritters were undercooked (very brown on the outside) and so salty that they were not edible ! The calamari was fried but the coating was not crunchy and did not stay on the calamari. Simply the worse food for $34 !! read more

I could not enjoy my food (not that it was amazing or anything) because of the disrespectful service I encountered. Me and my teenagers rode throughout Channelside on the electric scooters and stopped at Sparkman's for food. Being a pescatarian, my choices were limited and I settled on Swigamijg. The menu didn't really impress me but, we were hot and hungry so. Just wanted something light and simple. Boom. I ordered the shrimp + chips. When I heard my name called and looked at the dish I asked if they were sure, the guy confirmed. We just assumed that Edison's take on a simple meal was just bizarre. Okay. It was disgusting and I was just about to toss the crap (after eating one whole piece) when I heard my name called again. The staff was giving me dirty looks and I couldn't figure out why? Turns out, they had mixed up my order and given me someone else's piri piri or something. That explained the staff's side eye, and unnecessary comment that he noticed me eating someone else's food and rolling his eyes before walking off to tell his fellow jerk employee. Now. My first reaction was to apologize and tell them I didn't care for rectifying. Keep both nasty items please. The second rude employee thwn snatched the wrong food from my hand, tossed the replacement meal at me, and slammed the window in my face while angrily throwing the other meal in the garbage. My kids witnessed this and were mortified. If they weren't there I would have been a whole different person. You rude, disrespectful, petty, individual. It's not like I ever planned to eat that garbage again, and it's not even like I wanted to replace one disgusting meal with another from here. So, all of your food ended up in the trash where it belong. Jerks. read more

I had tried Edison (and loved it) so I tried this! I happened to see my favorite waiter at the main restaurant, Dylan, so I already knew he was absolutely the best! He's so genuine, and kind, and he has an incredible memory because he actually recognized me! Like last time, I took his recommendation again because I know I can trust his taste buds. But they ran out of conch fritters, so he validated that the other dish I wanted to order was great- and it was so so soooo good. Once again, I am so glad I took his advice because I know I could trust him! Seriously, y'all have the best customer service here to take care of customers! Thank you again! read more
Edison's Swigamajig Dive Bar + Fish Kitchen is a new food truck style restaurant located in a shipping container at the Sparkman's Warf in the Channelside District of Downtown Tampa serving craft cocktail swigs for $11-$12 and seafood! You stand in line for 10 minutes to place your order and stand in another line for 10 minutes to pick up your order. Most Current Menu items include: - 3 Piri Piri avocado grilled jumbo shrimp $12 - Tarpon Springs Charred Octopus Salad $13 - Cracked Conch Chowder $8 - Cracked Conch Fritters $9 - Jerked Fish Sandwich $16 - Shrimp & Chips $18 Previous menu items included: - Fish & Chips $14 - Stone Crab Lettuce Cups $15 We ended up getting 3 Piri Piri Grilled Jumbo Shrimps On avocado toast bites for $12. I like it saucy so I asked for them to put a little extra avocado and African Piri Piri sauce and it was pretty tasty. However, for $12 I would expect to get at least 5 or 6 Shrimp so while it was pretty tasty it's not the best value and will leave you hungry. We also got the Cracked Conch Fritters. The outside of the Fritters wasn't quite crunchy enough like I'm used to and he inside of the fritters was very soft and not bad just not what I'm accustomed to. The serving size of the conch fritters was pretty large and filling surprisingly but can't say that I'd order it again. We were a bit disappointed that the Stone Crab Lettuce Cups were no longer on the menu and that the Fish & chips were sold out. read more

Soooooooo, my colleagues and I went to Sparksman Wharf during the grand opening on the first day. We really enjoyed the space! We had a staff retreat. Just time to unwind and get outside of the office. Also, I love new places and supporting local businesses, especially those within walking distance of the home and office. I chose Edison's Swigamajig. The fish and chips looked great. There were 3 pieces of fish and a good amount of fries. It was pretty good; however, $14 was a bit pricey, but I will break the bank for good food. I returned 4 days later and the experience was not the same. I received only 2 pieces of unseasoned fish and sub-par fries. I asked the guy at the window why are they downsizing the portions ALREADY???? He said the 2 pieces of fish were larger! $14 is a lot for 2 pieces of fish about the size of the palm of my hand and literally a handful of fries!! I am a pescatarian, so this would have been my go-to choice at the Wharf. I will definitely return to Sparksman Wharf because the space is cool and soooooo close to home, but I will definitely try something with better value like The Corner for pizza or bring my own ! read more

I love Edison's so wanted to check out this spot during my first trip to Sparkman's Warf. I think they need some more time to adjust to the "food truck" style of food prep and serving as I was disappointed. Came here on a Saturday night to watch the Lightning game and football Playoffs, so expected it to be busy and there to be lines. I chose Swigamajig as I love the pro Edison. The line was not too long but moved incredibly slow. The location has and area on one side to take order and serve drinks and the other side to prepare and handout food. The ordering area looked appropriate staffed with 5 people working and 2 registers, but while watching it was very inefficient as the people taking orders were also preparing the drinks, which delayed others from ordering food. Why the 3 others didn't do drinks while 2 focused on orders is an easy fix for efficiency (plus people were often chatting and standing around watching those working the registers mix the drinks??) I ordered the shrimp & chips and a local beer. They had a good variety of drink options and some original mixed drinks. Once I ordered the prep time for my food was reasonable and actually took less time then waiting to order. The shrimp & chips was ok, nothing special but not bad. The "chips" where hand cut earlier and heated up or cooked then. The shrimp was lightly fried, but the frying was a surprise as it didn't say on the menu (yes fish & chips is usually fried, but considering the long description for the dipping sauce for the shrimp, one would expect some explanation on the shrimp). The shrimp were very large and there was a good amount. The sauce was tasty & a nice addition. I do wish there was either a spot to get ketchup or malt vinegar as the sauce was not enough for both the shrimp & fries, so you would be eating the fries with nothing to dip them in (not enough flavor to get away with that). Overall, this place is ok and works for decent food. But with the Edison name, it's not there but has potential. I hope they find the right items to do ut on the menu for the style of facility and also improve their efficiency. read more

Delicious hand crafted cocktails, fresh caught fish and hand cut fries amazing service and excellent cooks! Homemade sauces were delicious. Great price point fish tasted amazingly fresh no fishy taste so delicious. Hot and fresh read more
