This is a review of Edison's (not the Fever events). I have been here for a Fever concert and for a publicly hosted event as well. Edison's is lovely. The exterior is so clean, modern, and inviting. It has some limited parking. The interior entry way is spacious and has restrooms. The main event room really is lovingly maintained. The floors are scraped for a carefully intentional look. The lighting is gorgeous. Definitely a great venue and event location, lacking a little more parking. read more

I have been to Edison's twice now, and both times it was to see the candlelight string quartets. The venue is well organized and spacious. The room we are in is not overly decorated, but I'm not really there for the decorations am I? The chairs are comfortable and the set up with the bar in the room is convenient. Love it! This review is for Edison's (concert configuration) where we experienced the Candlelight Concert - Tribute to Adele. This was our first time to Edison's and our first time to a Candlelight Concert. I had no idea what to expect. It was really well done. Finding Edison's: It was easy. We just followed Apple Maps right to it. Parking: They have a free lot and there is some free street parking. We arrived early and parked on the street in front of Edison's. Eats before the show: There are a few restaurants within 5 minutes of Edison's. We'd never been to any of them, so we selected Off The Bone BBQ. It was great, fast and close. Lobby / Waiting: We arrived early with Zone B seating. No one goes into the concert area early though. You may stand (there was no seating) in the lobby and wait. There is a restroom off the lobby. There was an old restored car in the lobby and Candlelight Concerts had a few cool displays. Admission: We were admitted to the concert area about 15 minutes or so, prior to showtime. Concert Area, Seating, Bar, Restrooms: Once ushered in, we were able to choose any seat in our zone. We were in the second row and had a great view of the performance. The seats were sturdy and made of wood. the performance was an hour long and my backside was starting to hurt by the end. I'd consider bringing a seat pad of some sort next time. The bar was open and we grabbed cocktails. They also sell wine, sodas and water. All beverages could be paid by credit card or cash. For snacks, they had bags of chips and candy bars. Snacks were cash only. Both a men's and ladies room were open on one wall of the concert area. Concert Performance / Acoustics / HVAC: The concert performance consisted of 4 people, each playing a single strings orchestra instrument. The room was dimly lit for the performance with just the LED candles. It looked great. The sound was good as well. While the room floor was polished concrete, it didn't seem to have any echo at all. It was a warm night outside in late August but the air conditioning was working well. Should I return to Edison's for another warm weather performance, I would bring a light jacket or wear a sport coat. My overall impression of this evening was that it was great. I have never been to Edison's in Dallas before tonight, and I was pleased with the venue. The parking was easy and close, and it was safely guarded by security. I felt safe and comfortable going to my event there. While I was there for a candlelight concert, the venue was perfect for this concert. It was intimate and well organized. Review #2179 read more

First time attending and the route Maps sent us was thru the State Fair traffic so we were 7 minutes late. BAR WAS CLOSED because the show had started. From the views about the bar, we saved a lot of money by missing that glass of wine. Did not know the show was only an hour. Chairs were uncomfortable. It would take a bandI really want to see, to return. The adjacent parking lot was only $5.25; that was impressive. read more

Let me clarify. I believe the drinks were separate from the show. The drinks were all ice with little of the alcohol. That's not it something someone wants to pay for. Everyone should give this a try and Edison's is a perfect venue for the event. Concert by Candlelight with a four string quartet. Our evening was 80s songs and we enjoyed it with a glass of red wine. The photos & trimmed to fit Yelp videos don't do it justice. read more

The candlelight performance of Schubert and Metallica was one of my favorite events of my vacation. The ushers were awesome, and the people at the bar didn't scoff at my request for a diet Coke. The chairs were hard, but the concert wasn't too long, so I was comfortable the whole time. read more

This is a great theater option! We came here the other day for an event through Fever. Staff was absolutely wonderful and parking was a breeze! They do have some of their Candle Light concerts here as well. However, I came for the Fever Flamenco Show. While the performance was absolutely fantastic, I had to take off a star for their seating arrangement. I wish they had slightly created a more open stage. It was very difficult to get a good view from certain angles before they had their sound system block the view from the outer angles. read more

This venue is really cool. We saw one of the Fever Candlelight string quartet shows and I really enjoyed it. It's super intimate. For the show we went to, a host led us to our seats (first come first serve) which were cute little chairs you might see at a wedding reception. I didn't grab a drink from the bar but they looked really good. There's also a little patio out front for all of your Instagram needs. Super accessible from the Cedars DART stop. We went to a candle light orchestra concert here. They played tunes to Queen. The music and venue were both beautiful! It was a quaint little concert and different from anything we had ever done. They serve been and wine before it starts. It was short and sweet and very affordable. This was our second event at this venue. We did a murder mystery dinner here years ago. Come early bc parking fills up fast! I would love to come to another orchestra concert here! read more

This place has such a chill vibe that I cannot help but want to go back. Drink prices were a little high but I really expected that based on the limited menu and the limited service for what I saw. The anime collection was simply lovely and I truly hope I'm able to go attend another event here in the future. Intimate, classy, welcoming, high end, and simply beautiful all the way around. Went to a candlelight concert there and enjoyed a Metallica string quartet! Bar was good and not too pricy!

Issue #1: Went to an event tonight--paid parking through PRRS which is Edison's main lot. Paid for 12 hours per directions on the sign and have receipt showing the parking was paid for. Ticket was issued during the one hour we were in Edison's. From our view, apparently the tickets had been issued pretty liberally during the performance. Went to the PRRS website and it gets a one star across the board with most people calling it a "scam". Issue #2: Came in from outside which was bright and it was so dark pre-concert that we could not see our shoes in front of us and were worried about steps we could not see. The lights never improved and it was close to pitch dark as people were trying to find their seats which created a lot of unnecessary confusion. I know it was a candlelight concert, but others we've attended had ambient light that allowed you to find your seat and move about. This was just a safety issue. Issue #3: There with a person who had just had hip surgery. The loose chairs were hard to sit in and get out of, and just plain uncomfortable. Just an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience, and now I have a ticket to battle after paying for 12 hours of parking for a 1 hour concert. Took away from the enjoyment of my experience. read more

Enjoyed the Fever, Frank Sinatra, Candlelight performance BUT the chairs are VERY HARD & my fiancée had to get up during the performance because his back started hurting so badly from them. I was very uncomfortable also 3/4 of the way. All the guests around us complained about them also. SO, either bring a cushion or create your own Sinatra Candlelight evening at home. read more

To be fair the musicians were wonderful! This review is not for them (they were 5stars!) We saw the string quartet featuring Adele's songs. The concert was great and the atmosphere was very nice. I hate to leave a one-star review but I just wanted to spread the word. The drinks were outrageously expensive (2 vodka sours and water were 39.00 dollars). I ordered my drinks and didn't have enough cash ( I thought 27 would be more than enough) so I had to put on a card. I handed the bartender my card and dropped 3 dollars cash in the tip jar (maybe it's me but I was a bartender once and a dollar a drink is great) so imagine my surprise when the bartender handed me back the receipt with a 7.80 tip included and already cashed out. I questioned the tip and the reply was 20% is automatically included when using a card. If this is their policy then it needs to be posted (it's not, I looked) So 2 vodka sours and water were just shy of 50.00!!! I won't ever order drinks there if I return. read more

The venue is nice but if you go to see a show there pack a lunch!!!! No food provided despite the 140.00 dollar ticket charge and canned cokes are 3.00 with a 10.00 minimum purchase. Staff working the bar are rude to say the least. The manager is friendly but unable to support customer complaints. read more

I came here for a murder mystery dinner as I'm sure many others have, and had a good time but it felt a bit rushed. They started late and the murder mystery felt really rushed. I don't know how to put it without writing a novel, but they gave the introduction, let us do our interactive portion, then rushed to the end. The food wasn't 5 star quality, but it wasn't too bad either. I'd say it was a step or two above a place like Furrs or Luby's, but not too much higher. The lemonade was terrible though, as it was watery and had practically no zing to it. If you're looking for a venue for your wedding ceremony and/or reception, try Edison's!! They have an amazing space that is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception. Dance floor is large, quality linens and decorations, AV and sound already equipped and staffed pluuuuuus catering from Eddie Deen's (if you'd like that option). Their communication was a little slow, but that's just the "all about me" coming out and while I like quick same day responses, I didn't always get responses quickly from Edison's, but again, I'm pretty sure they had other people to tend to and didn't realize how important I think I am :-) read more

This Murder Mystery dinner at this locations was HORRIBLE and I want my 3 hours back. This was my first time attending a mystery dinner and their were 150 ppl plus there. My first though is okay how does this work. The host of the Santa Slain show was vulgar and not funny at all. His jokes were lame and always referred private parts..I was like yeah okay its was funny in the first 10 mins but please stop and be more creative. (Improvement suggestion: take notes from comedy central shows please cause your not funny). Everything looked thrown together, no set decorations, costumes were reasonable, it was only like 4 actors/actress including 2 that were mics everyone else just looked around waiting for the audience. Even their sound guy looked bored. As a audience member I was thrown off by all the audience characters while trying to follow the instructions in the binder. You had to connect the dots but it was tough to follow with a lot of characters, some not knowing whats going on anyway, and the host not revealing when what section we are in until we are in it and about to finish. The host/mic/Santa/ detective didn't keep the audience characters on track, he just as them questions, tried to poke fun at their appearances and then relate it back to the plot somehow. It didn't work. The food was a mediocre don't expect too much. I suggest you eat before you go. Their cookies were terrible. The workers serving the food were very polite and helpful though. I feel bad that the business that work at just doesn't reflect well. I may attend another dinner but in another state at another location. read more

Like others, I also came for the murder mystery, but will reserve this review for the food/venue only. Its a open and spacious place, perfect for the event. Little bar in the corner which served decent drinks. The wait staff was attentive despite the large audience... the actor at our table stole all our silverware (as part of the show), but only after a bit of confusion, the waiter promptly came to deliver another set for me. The food was OK. It wasn't anything special, but filled me up. Chicken was somewhat dry, but the salad ranch sauce & bread rolls were happily homey. The dessert pies were amazing though... not sure what it was but it wasn't too sweet or dry. Its a 3.5 at best but bumped it up because the place is very appropriate partner for the show... and for the cheap groupon price. Ample parking too. read more

Had a corporate event at Edison's.. The space itself is really cool, with several connecting rooms, good size dance floor and open patio area. However, bartenders there ruined the night for us by basically proclaiming that one of my friends was "too drunk" and refusing to serve her. They must have been confusing this girl with someone else because she'd had like two beers and the whole situation was very bizarre given that it was a corporate event. They ultimately made her leave the event, all from some horrible bartender who decided to pick on this one girl. Also, isolated location in south dallas makes it extremely hard to get cabs. read more

If you want to experience something different, try the murder and mystery event. It is very interesting. You are exposed to a storyline that involves a murder and you got to guess who the murderer is. Interesting and entertaining :) read more

My wife and I went here last night, since we had been given the tickets as a gift. My first reaction was, "can I leave?" This was because one of the "actors" thought it was funny to virtually push me back out the front door, and close it, leaving me outside. He apparently believed he was being hilarious. Maybe I am just too old for the mindless humor that is a large part of the show. Wine helped me enjoy the mindless dialogue. Many other people enjoyed the show, but most thought the plot was less mystery and more confusion. Dialogue was sometimes dumb. The food was good. Waiters were very attentive. The neighborhood is sketchy, though the building itself was specious and fine. My conclusions: if you are young and go with a group of college-type friends, you will jump right in and have fun. Drink early and often. If you are older and want a mentally challenging "who dunnit" type of intriguing plot, definitely pass. If you are in the middle, then wait six months. They will doubtlessly improve the plot and the show over time. Done better, this would be great fun. read more
