Gorgeous ballroom with two tiers. The top floor has multiple rooms for dancing/congregating, and the main area has a nice shoe-horn lookout area over the main ballroom. The ground floor has a large dance floor, and a good amount of tables to seat the dancers when they're not tearing up the floor (in a good, musical way)!
The staff was amazing at making sure we stayed hydrated for the International Lindy Hop Championships event I attended. Dancers move up to 280 BPM, which means there's a lot of sweaty people in need of hydration for several hours over the course of 3 days (and late-nights), and the Edison Ballroom made sure they were always on top of it. Even when they ran out of the branded water, they were quick to hydrate us with Poland Spring, then with the refillable glass bottles (the kind usually served at fancy restaurants) and cups. It was impressive.
The giant TV screen on the far end of the ballroom, coupled with the smaller TV's upstairs, and the TV management station (also upstairs) also added to the experience. As a short person, I found it helpful to be able to look up and see the screen, even if there were taller people in front of me.
All in all, a great experience at the Edison Ballroom venue! read more
