Stay away from this place.. we couldn't start the job 08 15 24 because of summer camp and random people walking to the beach half naked so you have to stop shooting every time somebody passing by.. so your shots are never clen or you have to compromise a lot.. Rude conflicting and almost non-existent management is another time consuming distraction. The manager aug15 told me that they need to get paid for moving our gear after we run away from the tish cuz it's work.. after I asked why you even touching it he had a red face and tons of nonsense arguments. read more

I've been to so many weddings over the years, and this one felt very different. The ceremony was out on the beach which was nice, but the view around the area is just too empty. It kinda felt like we cut an entry to a restricted construction zone. Also, there were helicopters flying around and a distraction to the entire ceremony. Don't come late either, that long walk to the ceremony is awkward and everyone notices you. The indoor cocktail area was nice, and we had a live band present. All passed hors d'oeuvre, with the exception of one station that had smoked salmon and caviar (nice touch!). The dinner room was huge and so was the dance floor. It was absolutely lovely, and this was probably the only wedding I've been to that it was a buffet dinner. Line up for food and waiters take your drink orders. The food was average, especially the chinese food and pasta. One good thing is that you won't leave hungry. read more

Giving this beach club one star feels overly generous considering the despicable way Stu and Junior have treated their loyal patrons. My family has belonged to the beach club for over 25 years and were not even given the courtesy of a return phone call when a refund was requested after I moved out of the state. Numerous emails and telephone calls have been ignored; however when my credit card company contacted Stu he promptly provided a copy of the contract in order to keep his $1,000 deposit. If you are looking for money hungry and arrogant staff, this is your place. If you'd like to join a beach club where you are actually valued, please find another place in Atlantic Beach. read more

My daughter got married here last monday the 29th. The place is huge and set up beautifully. The staff where extremely accommodating and very friendly and helpful. we had aprox 500 guests and there was no issues at all with the crowd. The bride and groom both had separate changing areas in different areas so they would not see each other till the correct time. Also everything was laid out perfectly and timed great. Most religious weddings I have been to are in Brooklyn . The sands is nicer and has a much better location and is far easier to park and get to. The food was great and the horderves hour was great and laid out really nicely. every one in my family had a great time and I would definitely use the sand again in the future. If you are planning an event, I would highly recommend the sands as it is great. The only negative thing I can say is that our entire affair was upstairs and I must of gone up and down the stairs atlas 100 times. There is an elevator but it is slow. The stairs really is not a big deal unless you are the father of the bride going up and down constantly for one thing or another. read more

The toll guy wasn't so nice* I attended a friends wedding on a Saturday and it wasn't to far from queens. The location had plenty of parking. I did not see any valet. If you were from out of town, I believe there was no hotels near by. The Sands was very nice, clean and beautiful. I heard they had major renovation after Sandy. Cocktail hour was wonderful. They had a taco station, hotdog stand, fruit and cheese table and other yummy stuff. I love cocktail hour and I made sure I tried everything. Cocktail hour is usually better than dinner so I stuffed my face. I was totally wrong because dinner was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Walnut pecan salmon. It was absolutely one of the best salmon I have had. It was cooked perfectly. Everyone at my table seemed to rave about their dishes as well. Oh how can I forget the Burrata!! Omg totally yummy w baby tomatoes served over mix greens. I couldn't finish it all bc I was so stuffed from cocktail hr. Best catering hall food I've had. Dessert hr was amazing as well. Wait staff came around with every single dessert you can think of. Rainbow cookies, chocolate chip cookies with milk in a shot glass. So cute. I can go on and on. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive. The Sands beach club I'm my opinion provided my friends with excellent service and excellent food. As a guest, I was totally blown away. read more

Had a Bar Mitzvah Party in the downstairs club room this July. The room itself is nice. But what a disaster! Staff was untrained, confused and disorganized. The AC did not work and it was very hot. The food was opened late after we screamed at the manager. They charged $500 for 2 security guards which nobody ever saw. The beach club members were walking in in bathing suits to order drinks at the our bar. Had to look for Phil for 20 minutes every time we needed help. He is very incompetent. Our wedding at The Sands Atlantic Beach was nothing short of a dream wedding! From our first meeting with our wedding coordinator Lori, we were so excited. She clearly knew what she was doing, was so nice, and very happy to answer our many questions throughout our process with prompt responses. When it came time for the big day, everything was amazing! Everyone always thinks their own wedding is the best, but you would not believe how many people came up to us throughout the night and said it was THE BEST wedding they'd ever been to! The compliments about how unbelievable the cocktail hour was, not only because of the variety (it is a LOT of food) but how delicious it was, have been endless. Lori gave us the opportunity for a tasting prior to our wedding, and we got to meet the amazing chefs, who like everyone else were so friendly and more than accommodating. Although most people said they were so stuffed from cocktail hour, many still raved about the main course and the insane Viennese hour that they put together for us. We had a bridal attendant at our side the whole night and loved the Maitre D. Several guests commented on how awesome it was that the bar was huge so there was never a long line, and also said the bartenders and all service staff were very friendly. To top everything off, the beach was pristine and we had a lovely October day to take some amazing beach pictures! We were thrilled with everything! If you buy "the package" from The Sands (which ended up being a great choice for us,) you will be given choices of 3 photography companies, 2 DJs and 2 florists. I am sure all of the vendors are great, but we have to say we were over the moon with White Light Photography, Feriani Floral Decorators and EJ the DJ. We cannot say enough good things about any of these companies, and how they did everything they could to tailor the night to be specifically exactly what we dreamed of. read more

As I search far and wide for wedding reception halls, I stumble upon the Sands. One early foggy morning and a $2 toll bridge later, fiance and I turned into the parking lot and watched the fog graze the ground, almost horror movie looking. We met with Richie, the manager and super sweet guy who was more than welcoming to us. He gave us a complete tour and let me tell you, this place is HUGE. 3 bridal suites, huge area to host ceremony and separate rooms for cocktail hour and reception. There is even a stage for the DJ to set up for guests to have full access to the dance floor. The Sands is right on the beach and also doubles as a beach club with a restaurant and a pizzeria. The option for an outside wedding is possible. Richie doesn't really suggest it, but the choice is yours. read more

They ran out of salmon and some one at my bridal party ordered it..they came back with the option of asparagus for her...Envelopes were lost and Richie just rushed me off the phone and i never heard back from them again.. I would never recommend...my guest had fun because i made sure they did the staff took pictures in my photobooth when they should have been working the bridal attendant was no where to be found..the 3 bridal suites were comepletely useless because noone had access to them...NOT EVEN ME THE BRIDE... huge disappointment. read more

We joined for the first time. The club is pretty good but way overcrowded. It is one on top of the other. Our cabana boy was great. Food was terrible, with few exceptions. The frustrating thing is that I missed the date to empty out my cabin. I called and told them I can come on Friday. They told me since I called they will leave the lock on. I had a birthday party July 30, 2021 at the Sands Atlantic Beach for my 70th and my special son's 40th. We had about 95 people attend. The party was incredible. The set-up was beautifully done outside on the patio with 21 tables. Since the party was from 8PM to 12am , we decided on stadium lighting which was a good choice. We decorated the tables with beautiful flowers and confetti. The weather was perfect. The staff was great, very accommodating. The party planner, Lori was fantastic. Everything came out just the way we planned. The food was amazing; appetizers, food stations and incredible desserts. I hired a fantastic rock and roll band " Who are those guys". We rocked it, everyone dancing and having so much fun. Lori recommended a photographer (Jessica) who took some great photos and gave me a flash drive at end of party. In lieu of gifts I asked my guests to donate to the Nassau County AHRC Foundation. This foundation helps out families with children and adults with disabilities. We raised $7,700 for this charity. I've been coming here with my family in a stroller since it was El Patio. My parents had the same Cabana for years. My brother and I were bar mitzvah boys here. Staring in the parking lot when I got m working paper I worked my way up to Cabana boy when the " big bucks" kicked in The attitude of customer service was first instilled at the age of 16 and it is the hallmark of my success in my career as an adult. People looked at the club as their vacation and expected top notch service all of it all the time. Now as a parent I've had a Cabana with a few friends for over 17 years. Not once ever did I have even a disagreement with Stu or Perhaps the enrollment is different from the entitlement some snobs (read below) expected. It's simple! There are rules. You want special privileges? it would have been honored had you just told the person you spoke with to back you up. No one sold you out. You lost your spot because you didn't pay. I've spent the same dough 10x over for many years. Perhaps the disconnect was in your head. No one sits around waiting to give your Cabana away to their friends. I imagine having a douche bag attitude can't help you, not that you had one but by the way you flamed the place it's best you aren't welcome back. My kids had the best summers ever. I had the best summers ever. My friends and I aren't going anywhere. We had the deposit, We never expected 2 minute service when Everyone leaves at 6:05. There are many beach club choices in AB. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. The owners have zero pride in their business and offer zero hospitality. They treat members poorly and act like they're doing you a favor allowing you entry into their dated club. You would think Stus son might step up and help his dad enter 2017. The food is the worst quality. Stu holds the cabana boys to the lowest of standards. He doesn't care if they work hard. Garbage is always overflowing. The courts look like trailer parks. The facilities are dirty. The bathrooms are covered in urine. My son got mollesca from the pool. I got a foot infection. The camp counselors are cocky high school students who don't pay attention to the children. They sit at the pool gossiping. Go else where. read more

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our Bat Mitzvah at Sands Atlantic Beach this weekend. I don't think I ever seen Kayla smile so much as she did that night. Everything was great and everyone was raving how much fun they had. It was perfect to have the package deal and the options were amazing. I loved our DJ and MC and understand why they were recommended as part of the package. Our photographer (also part of the package) was patient and easy to work with, getting everything i wanted. The centerpieces (another option included) were amazing and more that I could expect. My daughter was married on May 4 2018. The event could not have gone any better. It was all due to the very hard work of the wedding planner at the sands. Her name is Brianna. Everyone from the Sands on that day could not have worked any harder in ensuring the day went without any issues. Brianna and her team which includes Shaq are top notch. The food was awesome. Second, what you ordered was what you got with regards to the selections you made whether it was for the food items, specialty non-alcoholic cocktails, security guards, lighting, photography or DJ. The list of a-la-cart items was plenty and allows you to add items based on your budget. Weather aside (it was monsoon weather so we couldn't take advantage of the beach front for photos and the like...oh well, that's on Mother Nature, not the Sands) everything was perfect. The food was excellent, the DJ excellent, the photographer excellent, the wait staff was excellent, the hosts in charge of this event excellent, bartenders...excellent, even the coat check lady was super friendly. Are you getting the picture here? Everyone was so attentive, caring and provided us with such attention to details that even we didn't expect was necessary, that we were extremely satisfied. We couldn't have expected better food or service. The two ladies who took care of us that night, making sure everything was perfect are so wonderful and dedicated. im gonna start off by saying i was forced to give a star cause they wouldn't even get that. the summer of 2017 myself and a friend purchased a cabana from the Sands of Atlantic Beach at 1395 Beach St. Atlantic Beach N.Y. 11509 the reason i wrote the address is because i don't want no misunderstanding of any other beach club anyway we purchased the Cabana for approximately $12,000 and had it from Memorial Day to Labor Day we also had to purchase a towel service for a few hundred dollars along with a parking pass and passes for (Wife and kids) we also purchased visitor passes which cost us $250 a clip and we both bought 2 each so that was another $1000 also if you have any visitors they must pay $25 to park there cars and on multiple occasions we had plenty of visitors (get what I'm saying more money). along with your cabana you have a cabana boy which takes care of your cabana if you need ice , towels or something from the caferteria which cost money also so our summer cost at the cabana was estimated about $20,000 or so. At the end of the summer on Labor Day you have to leave a deposit for the following year if you want the same Cabana as we were leaving we talked to the Supervisor at the desk and explained to them that we are coming back next year but didn't bring a credit card to leave the deposit (we didn't know we had to leave the deposit we found out that day) and that we would call them the next day which would have been Tuesday. my wife called on Tuesday morning to leave the deposit and the lady said sorry we gave your Cabana away, well my son heard that and was devastated because he loved it there and wanted to return next year , My wife called me and told me what happened and i called the main office and asked them why did they give our Cabana away and they said we didn't leave the deposit ..... i explained to the lady that we spoke to someone the day before and explained to them that we wanted the Cabana but didn't have credit card to leave the deposit on Labor Day that my wife was gonna call today and leave the deposit ,she had no answer for me ,as our conversation was going on i told the lady i know how it works everyone likes that Cabana because it is near the bathroom and the pool and there is a lot of kids there it is a very desirable Cabana and she agreed so i said you guys knew someone that was a friend that wanted that Cabana and you gave it to them , she got very defensive and said no way we do not work like that here , we spoke on the phone for about another 10 minutes and as the conversation was going on she said to me "Sorry sir sometimes people know people and they get what they want " GET WHAT IM SAYING these people are the most un-loyal unprofessional pieces of shit they got $20,000 plus from us and gave us the boot (NOT COOL) My Cabana was A28 I'm not hiding anything. its ok because i have 3 or more friends at this Bum Club and they will not be returning next year either we will be going to another Beach Club where you are treated with respect ...... I'm sure they will respond to this yelp review to defend themselves but i promise you there all full of shit ....... o yea by the way try parking in there lot in under 45 minutes its a disaster they get so greedy the sell all the parking spots in the lot and you can't even get a spot ..........and after being in the sun all day try leaving the parking lot in under 45 minutes. One more thing you Cabana boy texts you and ask you if your coming to the Cabana and if you say no but decide to go there you will find strangers in your Cabana. Lori, All we can say is that last night's celebration exceeded all of our expectations. We were thrilled with everything and you Lori, made it all happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you. All that we had hoped for was a room full of love to celebrate Ethan, which it certainly was, but on top of that was delicious food, drinks, music, decorations, energy and hospitality for our guests. All I can say is - "Amazing". My sisters wedding went off without a hitch. Lori, the coordinator walked is through the entire process from our first visit until the very end of the event. The review is long, but I want to add each part to help! Ceremony- beautifully set up on the sand with a platform and DJ equipment, the music was clear and not too loud. Although on a beach with patrons, we had plenty of space where it felt private. As the guests arrived in the spacious lobby, they were greeted and asked to follow to the ceremony location. The guests had no issues getting to the seating area, as there were attendants walking them down the boardwalk and showing them where to go. Once the ceremony concluded, the DJ was on the mic and let the guests know they can go enjoy the cocktail hour. This is when the party took their stunning pictures. Food-The food was delicious. We had a day wedding so the brunch menu was an omelet station, fresh made Belgian waffles, fruit, cookies and cakes, vodka penne, chicken oreganato and franchise, grilled veggies, and a few other dishes I can't recall at the moment. All were tended to by their staff and there was no need to search for someone to clear the used plates (one of my pet peeves). Aside the bar, coffee, OJ, cranberry, and water were available in carafes as self serve. Main event- Dance your heart out! The DJ was on point. Not too much mic time- which is totally ok with the bride and played an excellent mix of music. There were children at the wedding and by request played "sponge bob -best day ever" and "hokie-pokie". The kids had a blast. The acoustics of the room were also on point, which, I have to be honest was a little worried about, but there was no feedback or ringing in the ears during or after the party was over. A well maintained volume and music tempo kept the party rolling! Thought out the entire day Lori was OUTSTANDING. Her attentiveness and professionalism was remarkable. Each time we met with her (planning and the end of the party) we just gave her hugs. She seamlessly went about the venue attending to the bride and the rest of the immediate party as well as keeping everything ON TIME. Overall review- the Sands is a beautiful location to have as a venue. The staff is attentive, friendly, and on point. Lori seemed to have invested herself into the wedding and it shows by the amazing job her and her staff did. I cannot say enough good things about the Sands at Atlantic Beach as a wedding venue. Brianna and Tom and all the staff are professional and accommodating. My daughter's wedding day went off perfectly although there was a threat of rain that could have impacted their beach ceremony the staff was ready for any last minute changes that may have been needed. I went there to inquire about the beach club , met with tom , he showed me around , he definitely had an attitude and was rude ! I asked to speak to owner Stewart and he said that would be impossible! I asked if he could ask him to call me and he said most likely not ! I think you guys should work on who you hire to speak to your potential members , he definitely didn't represent your beach club in a positive way ! Left there and joined a diff one which I found the staff to be family friendly , let me add it was clean and nice , and the locker I saw wasn't surrounded by mosquitos, tom showed me a locker and he didn't even say maybe it wouldn't be a good time to see it until we treat the infestation, he was unprofessional! Our son was recently married at the Sands. We could not have been happier...the facility is beautiful...modern,elegant combined with classical touches. The modern lighting effects (several to choose from) can create a romantic or upbeat ambience...enabling you to set a mood depending on ones taste.The food was amazing and plentiful (even made some special dishes to accommodate some difficult dietary needs)...the presentation was beautiful as well. The cocktail hour was so much fun! Different stations gave you samplings of Mexican, Asian,good old Hot Dog stand to name a few and the Sangria bar (don't skip the peach sangria...amazing) made that hour so much fun...it was only topped by the entrees at dinner and the huge assortment of pass around desserts again presented in such a fun festive fashion. I can't say enough about the staff who are warm and welcoming, not to mention professional and give you the sense that they are proud of their facility and eager to please. In a time when businesses claim to do one thing and then do another, feel confident that the Sands at Atlantic Beach delivers..When planning a wedding or rehearsal dinner as we did, it takes the stress off knowing that the people providing these services are experienced and professional and truly give you the sense that they want to make YOUR special occasion a memorable one....we couldn't recommend them more highly! read more

Nice place, good food. mac n cheese balls are great. Although the food is great, the portions of pasta are extremely small, and you get about 5 pieces of macaroni. Staff and security are extremely rude. 5 minutes after the party ended 16 year old girls were harassed about rides home because the staff and security wanted "to get out of here". They were asked about 20 times who was picking them up and if they "called mommy and daddy". They all lived in the next town so it took about 10 minutes for all of them to get picked up. If you ever attend an event here i would recommend calling your ride ATLEAST 35 minutes before it ends just so that you don't hold ANY of the staff or security up because they REALLY REALLY need to be home within 5 -10 min after it ends. read more

On October 1, 2016 I got married at The Sands Atlantic Beach and after two years of working with Brianna, and Tom bending over backwards to accommodate us I have nothing but great things. We have heard from all of our friends and family that the cocktail reception provided was by far the best wedding they have ever been to. Even with the threat of impending rain, Brianna and Tom were not only optimistic (But absolutely right, it didn't rain) but so helpful in offering other options for our beach front ceremony. I cannot thank the staff at The Sands enough for providing amazing service, making fantastic drinks and serving the best food. I highly recommend The Sands and Brianna and Tom for any event. Jon-Erik and I could not have had a better experience or more fantastic time at our wedding. Thank you SOO much! read more

my wedding at this venue Friday August 29th. I'd like to bring up a few things and my experience having my wedding here and dealing with event planner Brianna. First off after I began meeting with there vendors I realized the all inclusive package wasn't what I was told it would be. All the prices were different and I had to email Brianna about this..That caused tremendous stress for me and my now husband. Then 2 days before my wedding I finally got a balance of what was still outstanding ( mind you when we put down our 75% down we got a recepits with no balance on it ) an additional thousands of dollars was added because of a miss understanding between me and Brianna I then asked why I didn't have this break down before hand or why I didn't get a recepits with this amount on it ? I was told they do not give a break down of your balance unless you ask for it !! So don't forget to ask for a balance on your recepits. I almost had to cancel my wedding because of this added financial burden and stress 2 days before my wedding and when I emailed her about canceling the wedding there was no emotion it was okay if you would like to cancel you don't get your money back let me know if you would like to cancel . This is my wedding day that both me and my now husband been working two jobs to make happen ... After reading reviews online I see this is not the first time your venue has done this and I plan on writing some reviews myself so people are better prepared and know what to expect not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend ! The day of my wedding all the vendors were late and there were all sorts of issues. While I know u do not employ these vendors, u recommended them therefore they are a direct reflection on you and your business. My bouquet was wrong, the florist forget my set for my sand ceremony that I paid extra for and also showed and went over with Brianna the day before the wedding, the centerpieces didn't have any shells or beach wood in them like I was promised , the limo came late so I arrived to the ceremony late. During the ceremony the girls were lined up on the grooms side and the groomsmen on my side, the order was incorrect on both sides as well. No one told my guests to be seated and they stood the entire time making the chairs I paid extra for pointless ( because the chairs and beach speakers are not included in the extra ceremony fee ). One of my bridesmaids tried speaking to Brianna about it and was brushed off as she put blame solely on the officiant. I felt completely rushed and what was supposed to be a perfect day ended up being upsetting for me. While I did not expect everything to be completely perfect, there were so many unnecessary mistakes that I felt could've been avoided. The DJ never announced anything or got peoples attention therefore many of our family members missed the father/daughter and mother/son dance as well as the cutting of the cake. Also since the Dj didn't announce dinner was served to be seated guest who were socializing by the bar never new there dinner was at the table and an entire table had there dinner taken away before they can eat ! My mother inlaw also paid to have a babysitter at the wedding to help with my little bother and sister in law they were in the bridal sweet didn't know her dinner was served and also had her dinner taken away when they kindly asked Brianna where her dinner was they were told it was packed up already okay if it's packed up some place can't u just unpack it and give the poor girl her dinner that I paid for! I had told my Dj and Brianna I wanted the garter removal and toss never happened , which should've been directly after the bouquet toss was completely overlooked and never took place. I felt rushed from the moment I arrived there,it was unprofessional and made me feel like a wedding has never been hosted there. Then to top it off when we went to go back to the suite all of our personal belongings were backed up and moved outside, first to the lobby and then onto the buses going to 2 different locations and not everyone was going on them and in the process of this a lot of items ended up missing. I am upset that our personal belongings were touched without our consent, I felt like we were being thrown out as soon as it hit 12. I'm extremely disappointed in the way things went and will do whatever I have to, to make sure this doesn't happen to another bride!! I spent a lot of money and time and dreamt of this day since a little girl to not get everything I was promised. read more

Had a party at the Beach and absolutely loved it . There are 2 rooms one is overlooking the beach and the other is like your at a club. Everything was perfect from the food to the music . Brianna was amazing and extremely helpful . Would most definitely have another party here. Allison read more
