It is now 6:05 and you leave me a voicemail stating that you are closed and that my order wasn't going to be delivered today. It's my mother's birthday flowers that I have sent every year and this is the first time in as long as I can remember that she didn't get flowers from me for her birthday. This is also the first and last time that I use your services after a friend's recommendations. I am very disappointed. On our first visit to The Royalton, we coincidentally loved the flowers that were set up for the wedding that upcoming night. I asked which florist created them and we were told that Josh at Stefan's was the creator. After booking at The Royalton, we were given 3 options for flowers. As smart shoppers we met with all 3 vendors, but naturally only connected with Josh at Stefan's (the florist of the wedding that was set up that day we visited). Josh is a really cool guy and he is awesome to work with. He's so down to earth and says it like it is and I appreciate that! One of the reasons why we loved Josh is because he knew the exact layout of our wedding venue. He completely drew out every ledge, shelf and fireplace mantle on a piece of paper, which made us feel like he really knew the place (which the other florists we visited with did not). We went over colors, arrangements, bouquets, lighting, the chuppah, aisle, centerpieces, tables, etc. He really knew his stuff! He drew up a contract that was perfect and assured us that he would create the floral arrangements of my dreams and stay within my budget. A few months later we met with him to view our arrangements. Originally, I wanted centerpieces that were low, and that's exactly the sample that Josh created. It was beautiful and it was exactly what I asked for, but I just wasn't connecting with it. Even though I wanted something that was "low" I think in my head I really wanted a larger arrangement that was higher up. Josh worked with my husband and I (yes my husband participated in the flower choices) for over an hour until we were completely satisfied. I really appreciated this! This made me feel like he really cared about me and I was not just another bride. He was so kind, so accommodating and so flexible with the arrangements. I have no idea how he did it, but he created the vision I had in my head when I was unable to verbalize what it was. It's interesting because you sit down and you decide so many different aspects of the floral arrangements in different segments - but you never actually see the whole vision until the day of the wedding. What Josh and his staff created for our wedding was breathtaking. I was speechless at the beauty they brought to my wedding day. The chuppah was the most gorgeous chuppah I have ever seen. Josh exceeded my expectations and created the most gorgeous ceremony. My bouquet was called an "in and out" bouquet (Josh's suggestion) it was beautiful and wrapped in lace. The colors in my bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets were unreal. He truly captured my vision. The centerpieces on the tables were talked about all night. They had candles going up them with petals on the tables, the colors were perfect and there were branches coming out of them. The lighting set the mood - It was truly perfect. Also, the tree on the entry table was awesome, unlike anything I have ever seen at any other wedding. That was my husband's choice and he was very pleased with how it came out. Ordered the Hummingbird Surprise Bouquet but the Hummingbird vase insert which was the main feature of the order was missing. I called the store and the manager said they didn't have it so they sent the order without it. When I explained to him that nobody informed me about the unavailability of the item, especially since it was the main reason I ordered the setting, he claimed that the store has a replacement policy when an item is not available. I clarified to him that such a policy applies to flowers not to vase inserts. He then became belligerent, claiming that "because I am from Brooklyn I complain on purpose just to get money back". Eventually he said that when the Hummingbird vase insert becomes available in 5-7 days he will resend the arrangement. More than two weeks passed and none arrived. I played the recording of the conversation to my credit card company and they agreed I can put it on dispute for the full amount (even if "I am from Brooklyn"). read more

Ordered flower's for Mother's Day 2020 through their online service and received a confirmation email. The delivery never came. I didn't receive any email, phone call or any other form of communication. I sent them an email and a phone call on Mother's Day to ask about the status of my delivery. I never received a response. I followed up with them the day after, and their phone line and email were disconnected. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charges to get my money back. I strongly believe that this florist knowingly took online orders on Mother's Day in the midst of the pandemic never intending on fulfilling them to inject their business with an influx of cash to offset the business they were losing during the business closures. read more

I have ordered arrangements from Stefans in the past and was very pleased with their work, so when my best friends birthday came around, I decided to order an arrangement from them. I chose a beautiful arrangement from their website, 4 days in advance of the occasion. I called the morning the delivery was to be made and was then told due to Covid, they don't have all the flowers needed to make the arrangement but they would put together something nice. I trusted they would but was extremely disappointed with the arrangement she received. There were only two roses in the entire arrangement and I at least expected they would make the arrangement look as close to what I ordered as I could but nope, not at all! The card that accompanied the arrangement looked worse than anything my 6 year old could have written. I will never again spend money with this florist. This is the only vendor I was disappointed in. It took me a few weeks to write this review as I was very upset by this vendor but I think other brides deserve to be warned so here it is: I drove an hour and a half to meet with Josh. During this meeting I specifically focused on the importance of two things: my bouquet (as I love flowers & planned on preserving it in a shadow box) & the centerpieces. I really wanted peonies but Josh informed me that it would not be possible for my August wedding, fair enough. So we came up with a beautiful assortment of similar, plush flowers Josh recommended. Here is the follow up email I sent following our meeting: "As discussed, blush, Ivory, mint(succulent), and champagne accents using soft tones and plush flowers. Envisioning the body primarily with opened Ivory and blush roses,ranunculus, a couple blush dahlias(if possible), 1 cream hydrangea. We discussed a slightly cascading bouquet, nothing huge but I'm thinking a couple short vines of ivory orchid on the bottom. As accents: subtle spray of succulents, eucalyptus(nothing coming too high off the top please) to incorporate the mint. Also, some Stephanotis flowers with crystals/pearls as accents(as seen in the third to last picture). Crystals on the bouquet holder, preferably a crystal anchor. If you don't have one let me know and I'll see what I can find". (If anyone would like to see the pictures of what I requested vs. what I got please contact me; I have no problem sharing). Well, the day of my wedding I walk into 5 bouquets (I have four bridesmaids). All were closed pink & white roses, some browning on the edges. One bouquet, which I thought was the MOH bouquet (we were supposed to get two of those) had the Stephanotis flowers with crystals and there were tiny orchids springing out all over the top. Where is my bouquet? Well, as it turns out, that was my bouquet, there were no MOH bouquets whatsoever. My girls helped me remove the orchids; we ALL agreed they looked ridiculous. I know it may sound silly to some but since I fell in love with my husband, I had this vision of me walking down the aisle with this amazing bouquet and now it was just gone. I will never get that back. I started to tear up, but honestly, it was my wedding day and I felt it was ridiculous to let this ruin my spirits. So I left the bouquet in my bridal suite & moved on. My mom pleaded with me to please carry it down the aisle, which I did, but did my best to keep it out of pictures so it wouldn't be a blemish on my otherwise beautiful day. Other smaller things that were messed up: my aisle flowers were supposed to be pink & ivory but they used all white flowers, centerpieces were supposed to use dusty miller & they didn't, boutiniere was supposed to be a small succulent and they gave a huge "artichoke" that was so heavy it wouldn't pin to the lapel, they took the 22 gold mason jars I personally painted back to their warehouse over an hour from where we lived & we were expected to pick them up, the jars came back scratched a damaged. The communication was a struggle throughout the entire process. If you want your flowers to be a beautiful accent to your special day I would recommend searching elsewhere. To Stefan's: I understand you probably do so many events and to you this was "just another wedding" but to me this was my one and only wedding. You by no means ruined it because it was beautiful and amazing regardless, but you certainly tarnished it with your carelessness and complete disregard for everything we discussed. read more

If you are getting married, do not use this vendor!!!!! Of all the vendors we used, Stefan's was a huge disappointment. I was extremely let down by Josh. It was evident that he put no effort or cared. When I called him up after the wedding, he had the audacity to call my mom difficult. I found this to be extremely unprofessional, especially because he was being paid to do a job. My mom definitely made it known she was annoyed at him, however this was because he came to an appointment late and we were left to wait in a dark room for close to an hour while the staff were trying to figure out where he was. I requested some of our money to be returned being that they did not do the job they were supposed to nor was to our satisfaction. Josh said he would return some of the money, I'm still waiting. I don't expect him to follow through with that, being that he didn't follow through with anything he said. At this point money can't undo the memory of looking at my bare chuppah and being mortified. My bridal bouquet did not come out as discussed. There was supposed to be mason jars with flowers in it for the table that held the table placements, instead there were mason jars filled with sand. When I spoke to Josh, he seemed to have no clue. He lied and told me he spoke to my mom after the wedding and was happy with the results- they spoke, but she was not happy and as a sorry, he offered to send her a bouquet of flowers. Our venue confessed that Josh tends to be a little lax. They came late to set up the day of our wedding. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the need to explain how poor the customer service is at Stefan's. We ordered 4 centerpieces for a bridal shower using specific colors (purple, blue and white). Stefan made us a mock up of what it would look like. We were very happy. Weeks later the date of the bridal shower has arrived. The flowers were personally delivered by Stefan to the venue and they were completely different from what we originally ordered. The arrangements had red and yellow flowers and not any purple, which was our main color. Mix ups happen, I understand, however when we politely expressed we wanted the arrangements to be changed before the shower started in an hour, Stefan immediately got offended and blamed us for his mistake. He spoke very rudely to myself and the other women in the bridal party when he should have instead been apologizing for the mix up and fixed the arrangements, no questions asked. He kept saying we asked for more color in the arrangements and to "a floral designer" more color means adding other colors. I explained that I am not a designer, but I'm pretty sure red and yellow does not go with purple, blue and white. We did NOT ask for every color of the rainbow. Stefan left the venue and said he would come back with flowers to fix them. It was taking him a while so we just carted the flowers back to the showroom ourselves, where Stefan continued to be very hostile and annoyed that he had to fix his mistake. He kept repeating that he was doing us a favor by fixing this and he wanted to save his reputation, but "no other florists would fix these flowers". I explained that if an order was incorrect any other florist would fix the problem without having an attitude about it and blaming the customer. He fixed one and asked for our approval, continuing the bad attitude the entire time. We said it looked fine and were just so fed up that it didn't matter anymore. Stefan said he would deliver the flowers as soon as possible and we left to head back to the venue. The arrangements arrived minutes before guests started arriving and they were at least closer to what we ordered. Stefan said he gave us flowers that were more expensive then what he ordered, which was the only nice thing he did. There were a few dead flowers that showed up in the arrangements that had to be picked out right before the party started, but at least they were there. I was shocked by how poorly this situation was handled and I would never order flowers from here again. read more

I am giving Stefan's 2 stars for our wedding given that our ceremony arch was beautiful, and the day of staff did redo my bouquet for the ceremony given how awful the original came out. Other than that, It was a horrible experience with Arlene and Stefan's for our wedding this past Labor Day weekend. We were limited to four vendors to choose from with our venue, all of whom were obscenely overpriced, but I went with Stefan's as they were one of the least expensive. With that said, I had itemized bills from other florists in the area from friends of mine who have recently been married in which beautiful giant centerpieces and large gorgeous bouquets were a fraction of the price I was quoted by Stefan's. Friends of mine who paid a portion of what I paid also described experiences with their florists taking them through the creative process and designing in front of them, which certainly was not my experience with Arlene. Instead she met with us one time to show us nothing but a centerpiece (which I'd made clear I didn't care about as compared to the bouquets), and was disrespectful to my mother the whole time who was simply asking what Arlene thought of our venue since she works it frequently, along with talking down to me the whole time about the different types of flowers to work for August (I wasn't even very particular, I just wanted white flowers and tons of greenery...). After this meeting, Arlene sent me an update contract in which a piece that we hadn't changed at all during the meeting was shadily updated to reflect a more expensive price than previously agreed upon. Luckily I caught it and was able to have the price adjusted correctly, but it certainly put a sour and distrustful taste in my mouth. This all would have been fine if the high prices we paid translated to quality in the end, but on the day of our wedding I received bouquets for myself and the bridal party which were nothing like the pictures I'd sent Arlene, nor what we agreed on, nor the rest of the centerpieces and arch for that matter. I'd made it abundantly clear that I wanted a textured organic look with lots of greenery, and a few flowers at most. Instead what I received was 6 bouquets of tight white roses with a few leaves. The moment I saw my own bouquet I hated it so much I immediately planned not to take any pictures or walk down the aisle with it at all. I emailed Arlene to let her know there must have been a mixup and that I needed a replacement for at least my own bouquet, and she never even responded. Luckily, I had a phenomenal wedding coordinator who ran out to assemble a brand new bouquet in the style I wanted for pictures in just a few hours and completely free of charge. When I showed some family and friends the pictures of what I sent Arlene versus what I got, one actually said "well I guess they are similar in that they are both... flowers..." In the beginning, Arlene had up sold me on some things by saying that she wanted our guests to leave asking who did our flowers. Well, they're asking now because they saw how frustrated I was and the disparity between agreement and reality. I hope this review saves others from a lot of disappointment by going with a different florist than Stefan's. read more

Highly disappointed with Stefan's. I called them last week to order flowers for my mom's birthday. The woman I spoke with asked the price I wanted to spend, and took all of my credit card information. A few days later, to my surprise, the charge on my credit card is more than the amount I wanted to spend. If they were going to charge a delivery fee (quite an excessive fee for such a short distance!), I should have been informed, or that should have been INCLUDED in the price for which I said I wanted to spend. While the flowers are pretty, they are DEFINITELY not worth the money that was spent. GO ELSEWHERE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. They only got the centerpieces right!!! That was it! It's a big deal to any Jewish bride to have the Huppah of her dreams and they royally screwed that up! I was so upset on the day of my wedding that I actually cried. I can't get back that day or change how it looked and it will forever upset me. They messed up my sisters Huppah at her wedding and I was PROMISED they would not do the same again. Well, shame on me for choosing them to do my flowers for that day. Shame on me! We probably won't ever use you again or for my other sisters wedding (when she gets married). Just to clarify what exactly went wrong: I asked for certain flowers and a certain look for the Huppah, Arch/Arbor, and for the bouquets and what they gave me was their own look. They started by looking at a picture, which I told Josh would only confuse his workers because of the color and he said no don't worry I will write notes. He did write notes but the workers didn't really follow them and Josh was supposed to be there in the morning to explain how things should go (after promising us that too) & of course they came very late and Josh was NOT there to see things through in the morning. They were supposed to keep the construction of the Huppah in the pic but have completely different flowers on it. I know that Cherry Blossoms were out of season for my wedding 6-10-17, but Josh promised to get me fake ones just for the Huppah & Arch/Arbor to give it a look that I wanted. Um he picked up whatever flower was in the picture which was NEVER a color we wanted nor discussed upon. I don't know how, if you have a contract w/ it all written down, how you could get that confused. The Arch/Arbor thing was never supposed to be connected in the center. It was only supposed to almost touch. Well, it was exactly what I didn't want. And it looked nothing as discussed either. I may sound like I'm knit picking but when you ask for things a certain way & you hire someone to do that and they say they will, they should deliver on that and they didn't. Now the bouquets were all the wrong color pink & mine looked so dead it was terrible. They did their best to fix it but once again it was not how it should've looked at all. The centerpieces were the only thing that looked good except for the tree centerpieces that should've had a bit more color on it. I let those slide cause I couldn't fix any more things and they looked good. I would write more if I could but it cuts you off at a certain point. Josh should've been there that morning & I should've gotten some money back! Don't make promises you CAN'T KEEP!! I didn't give you two stars cause I was being kind. Ok so I had to push up my wedding drastically due to extenuating circumstances. I was not prepared at all and like all brides flowers are so crucial and it's simply that element that above all else will either compliment every table the dress etc or break it. I first got in touch with Joanna at Stefan's I saw what she did with my sister in laws wedding which was much bigger yet the flowers each arrangement were PERFECTION. I gave Joanna a rough idea via Pinterest etc what I wanted. Bear in mind, I love my flowers my husband gets me every week but the arrangements etc I was at a loss. I am a strong and firm believer in having a vision, and letting the professionals guide you and take it from there. Joanna did just that only with care enthusiasm professionalism and serious style. My guests were floored at the arrangements. I felt like a bride once I held my bouquet which was beyond my expectations. It was winter gorgeous beautiful every adjective possible. Joanna always communicated and guess what was able to pull off an extraordinary huppah in such a short period of time. I know people shop around but I was in the right hands and I knew it! Joanna made what would've been the most stressful insanely short timing event of my lifetime into an ease and pleasure. I can tell you one thing I loved my flowers so much and Joanna's aesthetic her eye is what you are looking for. She's really everything you're looking for and Stefan's has the most beautiful flowers. The genius Joanna is coupled with Stefan's makes this a beautiful marriage!!! I look forward to contacting them again for all future events and our family doesn't have a shortage of them!!! From our lavish ceremony chuppah constructed from cherry blossoms to our modern centerpieces adorned by gorgeous orchids, hydrangeas and roses I couldn't have envisioned more beautiful wedding flowers! The staff who came to set up our wedding was professional and experienced- they allowed us to have a wedding we could only dream of. From a last minute switch from having our wedding indoors due to rain we decided to move ceremony outside and Arlene's staff allowed us to do so-working extra fast to construct the chuppah and adorn the aisle with flowers. Don't let these beautiful pictures of floral arrangements fool you....My daughter got marry this past weekend at The Liberty Warehouse. When the florist arrived we were horrified at the sight of the most ugliest wilted floral arrangements that were placed in plastic Dollar Tree bowls. Of course when you have spent a tremendous amount of money to have such an elaborate affair, you expect for the florist to produce what you approved and paid for. Instead we got a rusty chin up bar for the archway with sparse dead roses, a bride's bouquet that didn't resembled the one that she approved and the cheapest ribbon on the parents bouquets which probably came from Dollar Tree as well.......Not to mention that my daughter and I lost 1 1/2 hours of our makeup, hair and photos trying to deal with this mess. When Josh from Stephan's finally arrived 1 hour before the ceremony he was nasty,arrogant and could have cared less. Stay away from Stephan's and especially from Josh....You can find better floral arrangements at the supermarket! read more

We used Stefans Florist for my daughters wedding .....at the Boathouse in Central Park. It was a destination wedding and I had to totally rely on faith that my vendors would come through. I just read the reviews before posting this.... and maybe I got lucky because Arlene was my contact. Everything was beautiful and more.... I didn't have to think about it. So .... ask for Arlene..... I am sad for anyone who didn't get what they expected .....you can't redo a wedding....but i have to give a great review for what we experienced. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered flowers for my grandmothers 101 birthday a week in advance online and received an email confirmation. When I called to find out why the flowers hadn't been delivered over two days late the man who answered the phone was extremely rude and acknowledged that they had forgotten to deliver my order but insisted that I needed to call back again the day. When I told him that I was unable to do this and it was terribly inconvenient for me he hung up the phone!! This was the worst service I have ever experienced at a florist. read more

We got married a month ago and used Stefan's four our flowers and we had a mixed experience. To start with the positives, the bouquets were SO perfect and amazingly beautiful! They were breathtaking and done so well. My photographer was swooning over them and got some really amazing shots of them. I still look at pictures and can't believe they were mine! Regarding working with Arlene, she took time to speak with us numerous times over the course of several months before the wedding. Though via email she doesn't always communicate well, in person she communicates much more friendly and takes more time to respond to questions that may not feel answered in emails. We went over with her several times to talk about our centerpieces. We ended up with two styles. The first, centerpieces with the branches in water, turned out just as we talked about. They were so gorgeous as well. We also loved our Chupah, which also turned out exactly as described to us. The chupah was also absolutely gorgeous..we recieved so many compliments on it. Unofortunately looking back, there were some draw backs, which we found quite disappointing being that we were really feeling like the work we agreed upon would be stellar, especially given their reputation. We feel overall the centerpieces were not given as much attention as the bouquets were. There were a few things we were surprised to see that did not match with our conversations and our contract, which saddened us to see given how many times Arlene reassured us the details we reviewed several times. Specific flowers and flower colors were added to 2 different centerpieces the day of the wedding that were not discussed and we felt, did not match at all. We were so very surprised to see this. Another disappointment was the different type of large candle centerpiece used on tables, different than what was agreed upon in the contract. We felt that if the other type were not available, we should have been notified of this change. Overall, we enjoyed working with Stefan's and really appreciated all the time they took to review all the details of our wedding, and were surprised and disappointed to see some things not be followed through from the original contracted plan. Arlene is great in person, rather than over email, and always made us feel really reassured- so we can't quite figure out how things were changed the way they were. Still I am very thankful for my beautiful bouquets. read more

I have been dreaming about my wedding day for my entire life, I had an exact vision of my wedding flowers and after meeting with many florist on Long Island, Josh was the only one that understood me and made my vision come to life. Josh and I hit it off immediately upon meeting and hiring him to create my wedding flower dreams was the best decision I made. Josh was so creative, talented and an absolute pleasure to work with. His listened to EXACTLY what I wanted and my reaction on my wedding day when I saw the flowers was one that I will forever remember. He left my speechless and the happiest bride ever!! You can't get better than this!! Absolutely the best people to work with when planning a wedding. Chris as the owner was gracious and wonderful! Josh couldn't have been more accommodating if he wanted to as he went out of his way to make sure that EVERYTHING was perfect for my daughter's wedding. Really large centerpieces artistically created with flowers all over the place. Josh was patient and oh so knowledgeable. During the planning stage we spent time with him to figure out what we wanted and he never was rushing us. You could tell that he valued us as a client and tried to please us with everything. His ideas were great and his experience invaluable. The two of them are the NICEST people that you'd ever want to deal with. My daughter and I both voted them as the best vendors of all the ones that we hired for the big day. Their price was FANTASTIC! We have 2 more weddings coming up and there is no use in shopping around as we know that we couldn't get better value or service from any where else. 35 years ago I used them for my wedding and their reputation continues to be stellar. Save yourself time and use them as you won't be sorry. We will always recommend them as they so deserve it. When I have a complaint with a company I will always complain, however, when someone is good they deserve to be commended as well. Kudos to Stefan's to a job superbly done!!! read more
