A few minutes later, two couples who are regulars arrived & sat at the bar near me. They told me that very soon I'll see the place packed with the usual Friday customers, and they were right! It was nice being included in conversation as if I was a regular along with them. The bartender greeted me promptly & gave me a drink & food menu. I ordered two lychee blossom drinks which I've had before, if I see a lychee drink on the menu I will usually go with that drink. Was given bread along with a white sauce that tasted good, one of the couples passed their marinara dish for me to try my bread with & that was good as well. I ordered meatballs from the appetizer menu to bring home, they were good as always. I knew they had different specials on different days and was hoping there was a happy hour menu at the bar, but I did not see any specials for Fridays.

We came in on a Friday night and had a great time. The vibe and decor is Tuscan with lots of brick and wood around giving a warm feeling. Adding to the warm feeling was the friendly staff - the hostess gave us a 4 top despite us only being 2. They must have knew how much food we were going to order haha. We were given bread with an interesting spread that was tasty, but still not sure what it was exactly. Ordered some red wines. We looked over the menu to decide on some dishes to share. Here's the run down: CARCIOFO BRASATE CON BURRATA BRAISED BABY ARTICHOKES, WITH PISTACHIO PESTO AND BURRATA This was really enjoyable and with creamy burrata and delicious pistachio pesto that was perfect with the tender baby artichokes PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANA Eggplant meatballs were so good with so much flavor - didn't miss the meat at all. Fantastic sauce with this as well. BIETOLA & FUNGHI salad ROASTED RED BEET, MARINATED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC BABY ARUGULA, GOAT CHEESE, WHITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR DRESSING The presentation of this dish was impressive with circles of beets acting as bed for the salad. It was different from the usual chunks of beets in most salads. I enjoyed this salad SPAGHETTI AL LIMONE IMPORTED ORGANIC SPAGHETTI, MEYER LEMON, PARMIGGIANO, FRESH BASIL We asked the kitchen to split this dish for us and they accommodated. The cheesy lemony pasta was perfect and paired well with spicy shrimp dish we ordered. GAMBERI UBRIACATI WILD BLUE SHRIMP, SWEET CHERRY TOMATOES, PANCETTA, CORN, CRISPY BREAD, RED PEPPER FLAKES These shrimps were really incredibly tasty - I usually don't order shrimp dishes in restaurants because they usually give a bit of chlorinated taste. Not here. The sauce was spicy with the pancetta and corn adding sweetness. For dessert we shared the brownie topped with pistachio gelato. The brownie was unremarkable, but the gelato was good. The espressos were perfectly made. The place was busy all night with a few open tables - the service encouraged us to sit allowing us to really enjoy our night. A fantastic experience.

The location is quite convenient and easy to find as it is on a corner of a major highway/intersection. Initial impressions this is your standard looking HIE although parking seems a touch sparse for the size of the hotel. I have never had to park elsewhere but it has been close to capacity every time. Check in/out was a breeze. The room was nice and clean (and comfy). Two outlets free just above the work desk (could use more but 2 at least is good). Wifi was good but at times inconsistent. In my speed tests the average was about 4mbps down and just under .5mbps up speed. There was times that the bottom dropped out but not for any length of time that prohibited me from connecting to client locations to do work. There is plenty of stuff (food options, big Key Foods grocery store across the street) within a really short driving distance.... walking ? not so much (but the LIRR is probably only a 10 min walk) Amenities: microwave, fridge, TV (a little older), hair dryer Complaints? the TV remote was so worn you could not read the numbers, and the battery cover was falling off (very minor issue), the water pressure was not great - even on the super soak full blown shower setting (although temp was consistent and nice n' hot) Breakfast was pretty nice. They had pre prepped omelet things that made it easy to make a fast food style breakfast sandwich. There was bacon, sausage patties (a bit bland), cereal, a pancake maker (was on the fritz), and a fridge with yogurt. So grabbing a good ole chobani on the go was a plus imo. The coffee was also surprisingly decent. This was nearly perfect for the overnight business trip. I would stay here again no problem. Work picked up the tab - $152 for the night.

They never cleaned even though I called up after the first night to tell them I had spilled some coffee on carpet and some on the side of the bed sheet. They said they had no house cleaning at that time but I figured they'd send someone the next day. Nope. Went down and pinged then on that a couple of days later. Nothing. From what I hear, cleaning is now done much more infrequently everywhere but christ! The inclusive breakfast was lame. I can't believe I spent over $200/night for this.
