When you are having these types of events the only people remember are the entertainment and the food. Steel did not disappoint. The food was phenomenal and MC Ricky was absolutely incredible. Just book MC Ricky don't think about it just do it. Every person was on the dance floor. The vibe in the room was so much fun! The decorations and decor were perfect. Richie was a pleasure to do business with and his staff was more then accommodating and went out of their way to make sure our guest with food allergies were taken care of. We also wound up having to have our service there prior to the party and he was able to turn our idea into reality making the space feel more appropriate for that part of the event. Which turned into a blessing in disguise as the party was on the minute the service concluded. The stress free transition made everyone truly enjoy the party. The added bonus of the all inclusive (except the swag) meant the overall cost was less and zero headaches as there were no vendors to have coordinate with. Forget about the traditional sit down catering halls. With the cocktail style dinner service the party never had to stop so you could eat. I will say compared to the other places we checked out, Skylight was very well maintained and modern looking with nicely painted walls and contemporary mirrors. The bathrooms were super clean and this location had a small kitchen with a window, which was perfect for our bartender to serve drinks. The price was also affordable and they provide clean up for you. The reason why I didnt give 5 stars is bc of the owners mother in law (the decorator). She was seen at my event on multiple occasions lingering around and I was informed she asked for food. Really?!... Honestly, I would have preferred to not have her in the background of my pictures and clearly in my videos as well. It was tasteless and I would have respected a check in here and there not hawking around like we were throwing a children's party. Oh and the icing on the cake... she threw out our custom engraved champagne glasses bc she was in a rush to clean up. They came from all over to celebrate. The African attire was breathtaking. We all had a great time. Location on Jericho Tpke you can take either Jericho Tpke straight to the venue, or Northern State parkway is nearby. The venue itself was very festive and bright. Parking was simple.
