They delivered same day - can't beat that! And I had a question regarding my order and the manager called me and went above and beyond.

Le Chocolat Du Bouchard - 5 Pieces Signature Dessert Flight

Update 2/2026:, Le…read moreChocolat du Bouchard is still, after all these years, one of my favorite places to indulge in something wonderful. What began in my mind as a temple of decadent desserts has evolved beautifully. The Bistro now serves inspired French fare, Croque Monsieur and Madame, baked French onion soup, sweet and savory crêpes, and other thoughtfully prepared dishes. It's no longer just about chocolate, though let's be honest... the chocolate still reigns supreme. This time I visited with a friend and her absolutely adorable 2.5-year-old -- a tiny human with a very serious devotion to chocolate. Watching her delight in each bite might have been sweeter than the desserts themselves. Elegant, cozy, timeless. A place that manages to feel both special and familiar at once. And yes, still a little dangerous for anyone who claims they'll "just have one bite."

She called me as she was leaving the restaurant that afternoon to share with me what a wonderful experience they had and that she wanted very much to bring me here. The European konditerei ambiance she declared was exceptional. She described how the owner brought samples of her chocolates to their table and when my daughter exclaimed how much her Mom (me) would love this, the owner sent some truffles with my daughter to share with me! My daughter described how delicious the French onion soup was. So we made a plan to fly in to Chicago today and meet up at the airport and with so much excitement we were headed to Le Chocolat du Bouchard. We were late for our reservation but called and were told they would hold the table which they did. We sat down, the owner was sitting at the table in front of us. My daughter saw her and told me that was the owner who then saw us looking at her and asked "do I know you?" My daughter was so excited and said "yes, I'm from Las Vegas, my family and I were here a few months ago and you were so attentive to our table. I couldn't wait to bring my Mom and here she is." The owner made it clear she had no memory of my daughter or that experience at all. She showed no interest in meeting me. She then picked her phone up and definitely let us know that conversation was finished. She never looked at us again or thanked my daughter for coming back in. I ordered a beet salad which was lettuce, beets, and mandarin segments completely dry. No dressing at all. After we asked for salad dressing, we began noticing 4 or 5 of the employees pointing at our table and snickering which continued throughout our dinner and even as we got up to leave. The server brought our bill never asking if we would like dessert (it is a patisserie after all). When we questioned him, he really offered no explanation. Just that we could order it now if we wanted. To be treated in such an unwelcome manner in a business establishment was entirely disturbing. My daughter was mind blown! She literally raved about this place for 2 months and when we left, her disappointment was painful. We are just thoroughly confused as to why. If they were frustrated that we were late, why not be honest and let us know they were unable to hold the table.? Instead, we spent $240.00 for an extremely uncomfortable evening! My first ever yelp review, btw!!! As a Mom, to watch my grown daughter's enthusiasm turn to shock and disbelief was unbelievably disheartening! I cannot imagine any excuse for the owner and her personnel that could even begin to explain tonight's experience!

First, the entire store is a walk through chocolate history and creations, with a Chocolate Tree in the center. The shop was featured on Food Network! We ordered the iced pistachio latte as the refreshing conclusion to the chocolate feast. A delectable treat in Geneva.

It was a pleasurable experience, perfect on a rainy Saturday spring day. The service was fantastic!! Starting with reservations, which was a "comedy of errors" to the moment we left. Esther's friendliness and attention to our comfort and taste elevated our experience. We started with the light, flakier tasty warm classic scones. Then we moved to the delicious, satisfying, variety of finger sandwiches - the traditional cucumber was perfectly refreshing to clean the palate before the sweet phase of our meal. In the mix there was a spinach-cheese tart which it would have been tastier served warm. I selected a violet dark tea which was lighter than I expected, perhaps it would have been stronger if would have let if brew a little longer. The assortments of pastries/sweets were delectable and mouth-watering - macaron, sponge cake, coconut chocolate drizzled macaroons, custard, and a truffle. All inviting, succulent, and scrumptious. I will be back!

But if you're planning on getting something from this place, make sure you're gettin ready to spend AT LEAST $25. Although everything was delicious, it was definitely pretty damn pricey!!

They are actually a large chain from the Rockys through the Mid-West. It's a small store, they make some of the product there. He was making apples when I walked in. They offer a variety of dipped apples. They looked great. He said they are the best seller. However I got a toffee bar to try. Comes in dark or milk chocolate. I'd buy it again. The employee was engaging and knew the product well. He knew the best sellers in each category, they have dipped apples, dipped strawberries, various truffles, various other "bars" and probably more that I missed. But the employee was the show stopper. Knew the store. Loved working there. Knew the product. Was making the product. Was talking to customers. Must have a terrific Manager since the employee was so good. Well done. If I were just rating the chocolate, it would be 4 stars, there is better chocolate in the world. But most does not come with the employee, which is why its 5 stars. This is not the cheapest product, but its all handmade, and that costs money. **Added here which is the store I went to and deleted from the store I was not actually at.

Each and every location features plentiful parking, a social media worthy interior, comfortable elegant seating, and quality desserts that consistently delight everyone who has the opportunity to try them. On my visit here, I tried a different set of items from my Schaumburg visit to test the consistency of quality across different flavor profiles and dessert types, and it delivered perfectly. The mango gelato here is incredible -- with probably the strongest mango flavor I've ever had in a gelato. The Lotus was an elevated version of one of my favorite biscuits. The gelato is incredible, creamy and flavorful -- and something I'd happily serve with most any dessert. The waffle was flavorful as usual which paired perfectly with the chocolate mix. I also wanted to try My Passion to get a mix of different fruits -- as I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the fruit was at the other location. This was equally as great, with fruit presented at the perfect ripeness. Extra kudos to the kiwi which wasn't sour at all, and in fact was one of the first items to be finished completely. The pineapple was also super juicy, sweet, and flavorful. I wish we'd gotten more eclairs, as the filling was super delicious. Maybe the weakest item in this dish was the brownie, which was only good -- while everything else we'd tried was great to amazing. Overall, worth a special trip for any dessert lover. This business consistently delivers top notch dishes at very reasonable prices.
