We were sold when the reviews indicated customers specifically mentioned the mole and margaritas! Fantastic server promptly set us up with skinny margaritas on the rocks then we ordered our favs, chicken mole for him and shrimp tacos for me. Both were fantastic!! My shrimp tacos were so good, the shrimp actually tasted like it was fresh from the sea! So much flavor! With sautéed onions, a great combo! We always stay here in GP on our road trips between WA & CA and we will definitely come back El Charro Viejo next time we're in town! Yummy!

Still the same deliciousness that we've always had here in the past. The owner is a sweetheart, the staff is very attentive; it's very clean, and well-run, too. I had the Beef Enchilada and Carne Asada Taco ala carte, and also their stellar chips w/beans and salsa. SO GOOD!!! My wife had the Molé Chicken Enchilada. We were both very satisfied and happy. It was good to see Yadira working- another absolute sweetheart of a person. All in all, this is the real deal, and while I'm still sad they no longer offer BBQ on Fridays 9it was SUPERB), if you can't find something here to eat on their extensive menu, you're not hungry.

Yesterday my wife, a close friend, and myself visited for a late lunch (just after 1pm)....my wife…read morehad ordered a fish taco, and two chicken street tacos. Sadly, she was not pleased at all. Her fish taco was pretty much without any fish, and the chicken street tacos were tasteless. Meanwhile, I'd ordered a ground beef crispy taco, and it wasn't bad and just ok, and not the least bit greasy (a plus). The two ground beef enchiladas I'd ordered were a disappointment. I did post a pic of one of them after I got it home (the other I'd already ate) and sadly, there was no enchilada sauce of any consequence to spoon over the enchiladas. Not so much as a spoonful, or two.. just the traces you see in the to-go box. The other strike was the service- while the establishment was indeed pretty clean, and the lunch crowd was pretty much clearing out when we got there with only two orders ahead of us; it wasn't the speed of service (it was acceptable) but the attitude projected by the young guy at the counter. If I had to come up with a phrase if what I perceived, it would be "restrained resentment'. Not the least bit friendly, and utilitarian at the very best. And I'm being generous. The 1 star rating from our experience yesterday, can't be elevated to a 2 star by the ok crispy taco, nor can that crispy taco of mine compensate for the vacant fish taco & stateless chicken street tacos my wife received, nor my almost sauceless ground beef enchiladas. Our friend who ordered, thought her order was passable, but nothing to go back for again. Add those factors to the demeanor of the counter guy, and we'd be hard-pressed to go back. EVER.
