Warmed up is definitely my favorite, but since they're made fresh each day, you can't go wrong. Service: The staff is super nice and we got our cinnamon rolls very quickly. Ambience: Super cozy and cute environment. They have coloring sheets and board games for you to play, inviting you to stay a while and just enjoy your food and company. Also love the train theme decor and pictures because it's in a remodeled train depo. Over all: 9/10. Delicious cinnamon rolls and kind staff, not to mention a super cute and cozy environment.

Serving your standard espresso drinks from macchiatos to lattes, many of the drinks can be made hot or iced. There is even a seasonal menu for specialty purposes. Quiches are served either crusted or uncrusted with many unique options including one with turkey, cranberries and feta. Quiches can be served independent or with a side. I opted for the side of broccoli salad and it was phenomenal. The caramel latte was delicious as well and served with a lovely art design on top. Sweatshirts, pottery mugs, handmade cards, soaps, perfumes and more are available for purchase. Board games, stencils and puzzles are located near the bathrooms if you have little ones or are wanting to be in your child like element. Don't forget to sign the guest book near the register! I enjoyed my time on the exterior front porch as was in awe of all the patrons walking in and out. Looking forward to my next visit so I can try more of the pastries as the cinnamon rolls were calling my name. Bonus: There is a train that still runs near the back of the building so you will really be on theme if you get to see it go by. Enjoy!

The prices can't be beat and the customer service is excellent. Six years ago when looking for a person to make my wedding cake to serve 350 plus, I had consulted my recently wed friends in the medical field, several recommended the Cake Ladies. I am so happy that I went with the Cake Ladies. I honestly haven't bought any other cake in the last five years from anywhere else and in fact am often asked from my extended family and friends to bring the cake, cupcakes, or bars from the Cake Ladies to our family events, sometime as far away as Milwaukee. Approximately 10-15 times a year for the last 5 years, I have ordered or been at events where the Cake Ladies products were served: no one is disappointed. For every one of my children's birthday events at school the teachers who haven't experienced the deliciousness of the Cake Ladies are begging to know where the cupcakes come from. I am often giving out the Cake Ladies number to new "addicts" of the Cake Ladies. Most recently in March for my daughter's birthday, I had 5 teachers bombard me asking who made the cupcakes. I even had a note sent home in her backpack asking for the name/number of the bakery. I can say that it is very easy for me to pass up cakes at other places where I know it wasn't made from the Cake Ladies: for me, my family, and friends, nothing can compare - in taste, price, and service. Crystal is always easy to work with, very accommodating, and is a true example of excellent customer service. I now understand how people/celebs can endorse products and am so excited about products they actually believe in. I have dealt with the Cake Ladies on more than 50 occasions (indirectly by being at a place where a Cake Ladies product was served or directly by my Cake Ladies order). I am not a relative or even a lifelong friend of the Cake Ladies or Crystal, I just truly haven't ever tasted anything as scrumptious as the sweet goodies that come from the Cake Ladies and wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the great sweets (and excellent prices). Please don't ever go out of business! Judy

An Eau Claire local raved about this spot and I'm pleased to say that Nostalgic Bean lived up to…read morethe hype! I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. First off, I was very impressed with the variety of flavors that were displayed (i.e. passionfruit, rhubarb, cardamon, kimchi, etc.) All the baked goods I got were fantastic- especially the cruffin. I was initially hesitant to order it because I'm not a fan when the exterior doesn't have that flakey/crunchiness. But I'm glad I tried the one here because the texture was perfect. As for the filling, it was a good balance of sweet and tart. Same thing for the croissant. When I ate the cruffin, I already knew the croissant was about to hit- and it did. Perfectly flakey and had that beautiful crunchy exterior. They definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate/almond filling either! Personally, it was a little too much for me but that's just a me thing Last but not least, the lavender vanilla shortbread was wonderful. You can actually taste the lavender and they added a perfect amount of salt to bring the flavors out! Aside from the delightful pastries, the coffee was lovely and the staff were super friendly. Nostalgic Bean is definitely a Altoona gem!

Chai latte was delicious, not too sweet, not too spicy and I love the variety of steamers available for kids. They even offered to make them kid temp! Space was cozy and had plenty of tables when we went (10am weekday).
