This is a clean and well maintained inn. The gardens are gorgeous and the staff are all so friendly. The rooms are dated and couches stiff like most hotel furniture can be, but for the location, this is a dependable accommodation. I wish they would provide local menus, as Reedley has some great local restaurants that I found like Kabob City and Hector's Bar & Grill. They do make recommendations if you ask, but the menus in room were only for the WakeHouse across the street that is bar food (just not my favorite), which was fine. It is clean, safe and a perk, across the street is an RV park that you can arrange EV charging. several new fast casual chains are opening nearby as well! read more

Edgewater will be the only hotel we will stay at in the Reedley area from now on. Recently, we had an unexpected death in the family. At the recommendation of my father (who stays here with every visit back home, and his siblings do as well), we booked a night at Edgewater. Usually we stay at whatever affordable hotel we can find in Fresno. This time, just wanted to be as close to family as possible so we booked with Edgewater, where 5 other family members had already booked their stay for the funeral. We were traveling from out of state and the whole week I've just been a wreck. On the day of checkin, we got a flat tire and needless to say, had a very bad day on top of the difficulties our family was going through. The woman behind the counter was amazing. To skip the details, she went above and beyond, and her supervisor did as well. I actually cried with gratitude after my dealings with them. I will ONLY ever stay at Edgewater when we travel back to the Reedley area, and I've been thanking my family for recommending Edgewater to us. We stayed here May 28-29, 2023. We previously stayed here over 5 years ago and it was good enough to return. This visit was totally different. They just remodeled the first floor. All new flooring, paint, appliances, furniture, tiling in bathroom, ect. The room looks like you are staying in a brand new hotel. It smells new too. I highly recommend this place. First off had to exchange the card keys 3 times and they still didn't work. The housekeeping lady to let us In. And then the air-conditioner early worked woke up sweating in the morning and couldn't cool off the room at all.. All the lady at the front desk did was sa sorry about that. Lol. Go figure! Decent size rooms.... Clean There was only one bar of soap so hard to use for shower and hand washing. The wi-fi never worked. As a business who promotes it you should have it. And if it's the wi-fi provider and you have multiple complaints then you should consider getting better internet since this is now false advertising, and could be reported to BBB Do one of 2 things get more better channels for your patrons or get better Wifi. We're not asking for much. Then the continental breakfast is the same non existent. 4 browning bananas 2 withering grapefruit. 2 types of cereal... some packaged pastries.... Love the affordable rates here at Edgewater Inn. Our rooms are usually clean and service is friendly. Breakfast is mediocre. You won't get a continental breakfast here other than the typical to go items (oatmeal packets, cereal, etc) Pool is nice - do not go into the jacuzzi (looks like pee water). We like it here because it is near the river and what they call their Reedley "beach". It is also very peaceful, quiet at night. It is also near town centers where you can go grocery shopping and whatnot. They take AAA discounts as well. Gave them a 4 cuz of the outdated aesthetics. read more

I don't know how anyone can say anything bad about this hotel for the cost and location!! We arrived EXTREMELY late and the gal at the window was very polite. The room was easily cooled by the cooler/fan. It was very very quiet and hot breakfast was served from 5am-10am!! Wish we had time to enjoy the pool. This town in very clean and inviting. So close to Sequoia National Forest... if you are traveling through, definitely stay here!! read more

Room looked nice......but: 1. The bed was as hard as a rock. My entire body hurt the next morning. 2. The entire place, including the rooms smelled like chemical lavender. It was completely overwhelming. 3. The continental breakfast was hands down the worst continental breakfast I have ever seen. It consisted of Svenhard danishes....packaged oatmeal and Raisin Bran with milk that was sitting on the counter. There were also some old apples and oranges. 4. Asked for a late checkout (checkout is 11AM) and was told that they don't do this. I have never been at a hotel and have been told this. 5. The lights in the room were all EXTREMELY bright with no light dimmer and no option to turn on another light that is dimmer. It felt like we were literally walking on the sun! 6. The only way to shut our door was to slam it. I am sure other patrons that were trying to sleep loved this...not! 7. When I first got in the shower I almost slipped and fell....the bottom of the tub was so slippery. Then when I took a shower the water pressure was very light and the drain would not drain. So while showering my feet were in a pool of water the entire time. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

My stay here was superb really. My destination was just to get out of town and relax. We have some friends nearby and they told us about their good experience at The Edgewater so we thought why not give it a try. Booking was easy, I think the first time I called the lady put me on hold and forgot about me but after that it was a breeze. Check in was easy and the room was huge! With a microwave and a mini fridge that didn't work even though plugged in. But we had no perishables this day so that's fine. The cleaning lady Rachel did a really awesome job on cleaning. The tub was spotless to set up a bath right away. Everything was great. Neighbors weren't too noisy. They even have a little recreational bench area off to the side to hang out. And the price was right! My husband and I will be staying again. There was a review I read about someone not receiving their deposit back. Not to discredit the person that never got it or had to hassle them, I do know that if you break any of the agreements on the paper you sign for you will not get a deposit back. What a wonderful surprise rooms were very clean, the staff were courteous and personable. Remembered our senior small dog and his name. Felt like we were visiting family. We admired the 20 something beautiful older rose trees in full bloom had to fight the temptation to cut one for my hair! Walked down to the restaurant ordered a bacon lettuce and tomato and oh goodness was it ever so wonderful- and perfect bloody Mary's just the right spice!!! if we had not had plans for a wedding we would have made a long evening of it as they had an up and coming band scheduled to play. We heard a couple of the guys in the band that was scheduled to play Friday the 13th having a conversation with the housekeeper and they seemed so respectful....made me proud!!! We booked a stay to avoid a long drive home after a planned activity. We checked in and paid. We left instantly to go to the activity. A few hours later we came back to the room and sat on the bed. A few minutes later we discovered a bunch of roaches in a ball of dust under the pillow. My girlfriend picked it up with toilet paper and threw it in the toilet. We contact the night front desk and explained and asked for all new bedding, but then instantly decided we were grossed out and wouldn't be able to stay. She said, what do you expect we are close to the river.. We were told we would be contacted by the day manager in regards to our refund. The manager never called, I tried a few times unsuccessfully. Finally I disputed the charge and they fought the dispute stating that I paid and signed for the room. This is really bad business, would never go back. read more

This is a very good motel for the price. The room seemed safe and inviting. The bed and bathroom were clean and safe. The A/C was quiet and worked quite well even though it was 100 degrees outside. The motel's staff was very accommodating. My only comment is that the floor could have been mopped better. I spilled a little water on the floor and used a towel to wipe it up, after which the towel was filthy. Other than that minor complaint, we were quite happy with our stay at the Edgewater Inn. read more

Been staying here at least once to twice a month during the summer for the past several years now. The staff is super friendly and helpful but recently the club next door has been having huge events and the owner of the edge water rents out the hotel parking lot for overflow parking. Having my truck and ski boat parked in a safe location overnight is important to me. Now that their are drunk idiots al over the parking lot peeing on everything and jumping all over my boat while screaming at 2:00am and the loud parties until. After 4:00am by those party people that booked rooms. I think it might be time to take my business to another local hotel. It's a shame because as I said the staff are awesome, the rooms are nice and the price is great. Never had a problem until recently. This place has always been a stop over for international travelers and out of town'ers but once they stay at a loud unruly hotel I'm sure that'll end. I highly doubt the couple hundred dollars extra the owner makes is worth losing customers, at least I hope they it's not. read more

I read all the reviews, and because there are so many 4/5 stars mixed in with the 2/3 stars, I thought we'd take our chances. It's pet-friendly, which was my main concern. The GOOD: the room was very clean, updated, and brightly-lit. It smelled faintly of air-freshener when we walked in. The air-conditioner worked, with that motel-airconditioner noise. The sheets were clean and fresh. There was a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room. The friendly young woman at the desk checked us in quickly. The cut watermelon at breakfast was exactly what it should have been, and the waffle-iron did its job. There were mini-muffins and cold cereal too. It's the continental breakfast every motel offers. These things are the reason I give this place any stars at all, because the BAD parts were very bad: the beds. One reviewer said they were made of bricks and I thought to myself, "that is excellent hyperbole, reviewer." But no. The mattresses had absolutely no give. It was like sleeping on the floor. My daughter, who can fall asleep on a floor, had no problems. My husband and I suffered all night. The beds are terrible. Since the whole point of a motel room is the bed, none of those good things ended up mattering. And the lighting! Remember "brightly lit", listed among the good things? That's fabulous when you're walking in. But there were zero lamps -- only the 10,000,000 watt can-lights in the ceiling, all pointing straight down at your head. The friendly young woman at the desk was far less friendly when I called to ask if there might be a lamp we could borrow. With the lights out, you could use the glow from the microwave display and the seepage around the door-frame as nightlights, which might be a plus or a minus, depending on your sensitivity. So those are the caveats. The price is right, it's pet-friendly, and maybe you don't mind sleeping on a slab of granite in a room that can either be mostly dark (but not quite dark enough to sleep, if you're me) or lit with the light of a thousand suns. Listen this place isn't the place you stay if you want a 5 star experience. But I have stayed here twice and I love it. Everyone is very nice and accommodating. It's about a 25 second walk to the river and that is the best part about this hotel. The breakfast is also a nice plus. Also the showers work great! There is nothing worse than a weak shower! I would stay here again and it turns out my girlfriend is booking a another stay and I type this. Hahaha we love doing the river float. read more

I booked a motel room here through AAA while using their vacation planning service. I chose this motel because it was very reasonably priced, and it was the closest thing I could get to Sequoia National Park. The room itself was clean, although two of the lamps didn't work the first night because they needed new bulbs. However, the maids promptly changed them the next day because they were working when we returned the following evening. Also, when we turned the lights out to go to sleep, someone had written with invisible fluorescent ink on the wall above the bed that someone loves someone else, pretty low class. The complimentary breakfasts were minimal, consisting of Little Debby style danishes and muffins with coffee and orange juice. That was all I really expected for the price we were paying, however. The thing that would keep me from coming back, however, is the Wi-Fi, or the lack thereof. I was told by AAA that the motel would have free Wi-Fi. I called the motel myself the day before we left and verified this fact. And, in fact, the first night we did have Wi-Fi. However, when we came back from the park the second night there was no Wi-Fi signal available, so I called the office and asked them why the Wi-Fi wasn't working, and the night-time manager said she had no idea, but that it was working because she'd had "several other people log on tonight." However, I know it wasn't working because my smartphone also has Wi-Fi capability, and it also did not pick up any signal. The situation was the same the third night, so I'm giving this motel a 2 instead of 3 for service. read more

As you are looking for a motel to stay in & around the Reedley, CA area, trust me, proceed past the EdgeWater Inn & keep looking. We stayed there ONLY because it was AAA rated (ahem, I'm going to have a little chat with AAA after my experience here) & because it was close to both the King's Canyon & Sequoia National Parks where we planned to visit. We had made reservations prior to coming here so I went to the front desk with my confirmation paperwork & instead of a friendly "Hello! Welcome to the EdgeWater Inn!" greeting, the sad & angry looking clerk asked me "Name?" then thrust a form at me to fill out. After I did that & paid for the room, she again thrust my key card at me through the slot. Other than providing me the room # & pointing toward the direction of the room, I didn't hear 2 words out of her. Hmmm, talk about a lousy first impression! As far as the room itself? Meh. The floor hasn't been mopped in years as after walking three passes back & forth across the room, my socks were black. There were holes in some towels. The WIFI kicked us off a few times. The TV had only 18 total channels, 6 of which were fuzzy & unwatchable & 2 were Spanish. They had a nice looking pool area...but you can't enter it with your key card. I tried several times with no success so I went to the front desk & told them my card didn't gain access to the pool only to find an even angrier clerk who tried to tell me to try it again & 'jiggle the door a few times'. After I told her I did that, she looked dejected & went out with me where she too found the door was stuck. She banged it really had & the door popped open then walked away mad saying "There!" You would have thought I had called her a name as mean as she was. So the next day, I went out to take another swim. Nope! Key didn't work again so I went back to the front desk to find the original sad-looking clerk there & told her my plight. But instead of heading toward the pool, she walked over to my room, opened my door with the key & said "I don't know what you mean. It works." I said "no ma'am I told you my key works on my room, it doesn't work on the pool!" So we walked to the pool & she too slid my key then the master key in & it still didn't work. Finally with her master key she slid it in then rammed it with her shoulder & it opened. I saw other guests having the same problem. Sheesh! Needless to say, we won't be back. I see the last review gave this place a decent rating. Edgewater must have had a change in management since them. Like I said at the start of this, do yourselves a favor & locate a different motel other than the EdgeWater Inn. If we would book in this area again, we would go to Visalia, CA. Visalia is closer to Sequoia National Park too! Nicer town and most likely nicer staff and rooms. read more

Called to confirm a reservation only to be put on hold for nearly 15 minutes. Then when staff was finally ready to talk they came off extremely rude! So rude in fact that I decided to cancel the reservation. Since I was cancelling over 48 hours in advance I didn't figure it would be a problem however they still charged my card the full price of the room. I had to file a dispute with my bank in order to get the money back. I recommend you steer long clear of this place and seek accommodation elsewhere. read more

Being that I travel for work I stay in many different motels and hotels for weeks at a time. Ive had good and bad experiences, and here at the Edgewater Inn I can say it was one of the better experiences I was able to have while in Reedley for 17 weeks for work . So conveniently placed right by the center of town. They were clean ! The beds were soooo comfortable and the pillows even better ! They serve a wonderful variety for breakfast in the morning and whenever I needed something and called down they were so fast to bring it to the room. All the receptionists are amazing and great people ! Veronica always keeps the inn festive and cute ! Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay ! Rooms are clean and recently remodeled, but rooms smell musty due to the old school A/c. Not sure if it's all rooms, but room 107 was very musty. Very friendly/professional staff...always feel comfortable and like they are honest/trustworthy. Didn't partake in the free breakfast, but I smelt the waffle maker and was bummed we missed that! In room coffee was sup-par (powdered creamer - my personal pet peeve) but Starbucks was nearby so it's ok! For such an economical hotel I can't complain! Pool didn't open till noon --- which in the summer is such a bummer as Ky kids really wanted to swim before check out. I was working down in Reedly and surrounding areas for work last year. Most of the guys on my crew were staying here, and when the temperatures were getting too uncomfortable for my other accomodations, I got a room here. Having traveled A LOT for work, I have gotten use to dingy, sub-standard rooms. I realize you often get what you pay for, but this place took me back to when I was a kid, and motels were a business not run by corporations, but family run where there is an obvious pride their establishment. I was impressed with how clean and the ammenities they offered for the price! The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms modern, and a free continental breakfast was the perfect start to my mornings. After work, the pool was very nice and even had towels out at poolside for guests. Even though I would turn off my air before leaving in the morning to conserve engergy, the hotel staff would have my room made up and the air on with the room nice and cool. I felt like I had a wife taking good care of me! I tipped the girls with the gratuity envelope, and wrote a marriage proposal to one of them! My ONLY ding I would have to give them is the lighting; the light 'temperature' of their CFL's was whitish blue and very sterile looking, like an old mercury vapor street light! But that is the only criticism I can muster. If they changed to 2700 kelvin CFL's or LED's, they'd get 5 STARS from me! read more

The rooms are nice enough and supposedly they're getting renovated soon. When I checked in, the manager upgraded us to a king size bed at no extra cost, just because he felt like being nice. So that was neat. The wifi is pretty spotty, but works. Everything else was clean, though our room seemed pretty worn out and outdated. I'm sure this place sees a lot of interesting people come and go, so for what it is, this hotel is all right. read more

When I called the front desk about the non-working wi-fi, the clerk said tersely "well MINE is working". The staff here is amazing, especially Veronica. She helped us get checked in quickly after arriving in a tow truck. We broke down on the 180 coming down from Sequoia National Park. The staff was all so nice. We hung out at the pool waiting for the car to get fixed. They held a room for us in case our car wasn't fixed the next day. Great basic breakfast. Rooms were very nice and updated and clean. Pool was awesome and a small hot tub. No complaints from us. It was perfect. Thank you again for all the kindness and help! read more

Stayed here rooms are clean not much from the outside but not ugly. Rooms were nice I wasn't sure what to expect stayed in some places for more that were less qualifying. The beds are comfortable, room was clean, the TV's are big flats. The A/C works fine, didn't have a chance to try the Breakfast. Wifi is free and the price I paid was fair for the quality. Once again surprised to find this Little spot just outside of Fresno and deserves all three stars solid.
